Can Attribute limit the data range?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 18, 2010    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework
Can I write something like    public struct ID { public SerialPort port; [Range(0,31)] public int siteNumber;<span style="white-space:pre"> // limited to [0, 31] }   to ask Attribute to check the data range? Does .NET provide predefined attribute to do such thing? Or, who can give some suggestions to do such check/limit ? Thank you very much!

Export Data to Excel Based on Date Range

I have data from multiple tables that I would like to display in a gridview via a stored procedure.  I need to select the data based on a date range and display it.  Once displayed I need to include a button that would allow the user to export the gridview data to an excel spreadsheet.  Does anyone have an out of the box solution or know of a tutorial I can use to accomplish this feat?  I am currently using 2.0 for this project. I am newish to .net. Thanks in advance. Here is my stored procedure that calls the data from multiple tables.USE [DATABASENAME] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[GetUsersAll] Script Date: 09/03/2010 08:20:23 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[GetUsersAll] AS SELECT aspnet_Users.UserName, aspnet_Membership.Email, Team.Name, MemberTeamRole.InsertDate, MemberTeamRole.ManagerApprovedDate, MemberTeamRole.RegistrarApprovedDate, MemberTeamRole.RoleName, MemberInfo.firstname, MemberInfo.lastname FROM aspnet_Membership INNER JOIN aspnet_Users ON aspnet_Membership.UserId = aspnet_Users.UserId INNER JOIN MemberInfo ON aspnet_Users.UserId = MemberInfo.memberid LEFT OUTER JOIN MemberTeamRole ON aspnet_Membership.UserId = MemberTeamRole

A general validation attribute for checking uniqueness in a linq to sql data context

I've been programming asp.net for, oh, a couple of days now. Here's a question I can't even begin to figure out for myself. I hope it's obvious from the code what I want to accomplish, and I have, but it's not pretty. Furthermore I'd like to use it on whatever table, whatever field, i.e. check the uniqueness of a value against a table and field I specify, passing it all into the attribute constructor. public class UniqueEmailAttribute : ValidationAttribute{    public UniqueEmailAttribute()    {    }    public override Boolean IsValid(Object value)    {        //not pretty. todo: do away with this.        var db = new CoinDataContext();        int c = db.Emails.Count(e => e.Email1 == value.ToString());        return (Boolean) (c == 0);    }}

Finding the data within a particular range

I need to create a report that will show the list of data that is within that range of period. The scenario will be: - the user will choose the starting month and the ending month from a drop down list. (for example, starting month = July and ending month = September) - then the report will be showing all the data within that range of month chosen by the user. (data from July until September will be shown, including data from the month of AUGUST) - the problem I'm having is that when I choose the starting month and ending month as shown above, I only get the data from the month of JULY and the month of SEPTEMBER, the data from month of AUGUST will not be shown. I'm not sure on how to write the SQL statement??? Needed help from anyone who knows how to solve this porblem.. Thank you..

Filter External List by a range of data

I have an external list web part that I am currently using a choice filter on to filter by a certain status.  The options are yes, no, or (empty).  However, I would like to be able to add an additional option to filter where the person has the previous status set to no, but has a value in a different field greater than 90. I realize that the choice filter probably wouldn't do this, and that I could do this easily with separate list views, where I have some sort of web part that can change the list views on the fly. I would think I could use one of those list filters to do this, but when I tried to do that for my original problem, I was unable to connect the filter to my external list. I could connect the list view filter to any internal list without an issue however.  Somebody commented on my old thread that I posted as cptInsane0 that I could just make an infopath view form that has buttons that do this.  I have dabbled with infopath a little bit, but I wasn't able to get infopath to connect to my external list either.  I first had to connect to an internal one, and then for some reason I could add the external list as an alternate data source. I can't be the first person who has had this issue. Could someone point me in the right direction?

limit data on charts

Is there a way we can dynamically limit the data in a chart?

I have a table and chart to be displayed in a report. The table is to display all the rows. But the chart should be plotted for 1 group alone. Is this possible?

e.g., the dataset will have data for all states. But the chart should be displayed only for 1 state. Can this be achieved?

Concat and Conversion of char data type to smalldatetime data type resulted in an out-of-range small

I am trying to create a new date as below and add this date to the BDMRY field (smalldatetime data type) in SQL Server 2005.

MostRecentCompletionDate -  (smalldatetime data type)

StudentBirthdate - (smalldatetime data type).

SET BDMRY =  CAST(CAST(YEAR(MostRecentCompletionDate) AS VARCHAR(4)) + '/' +
                      CAST(MONTH(StudentBirthdate) AS VARCHAR(2)) + '/' +
                      CAST(DAY(StudentBirthdate) AS VARCHAR(2)) AS DATETIME)

When I run this I'm getting the error as:

Msg 296, Level 16, State 3, Line 1
The conversion of char data type to smalldatetime data type resulted in an out-of-range smalldatetime value.
The statement has been terminated.

It works fine on my laoptop but doesnt work on the production server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

adhoc reporting - data doesn't refresh on date range change

I created an adhoc report model using SQL Server 2008 reporting services. I am using data from a SQL 2000 database sitting on a SQL 2000 server. I created reports with start date and end date parameters, everything worked fine.

Now my ad hoc report model uses a SQL 2000 database (this database is a replication of the database I was using)  sitting on a SQL 2008 server. When I change parameters like start date and end dates, data doesn’t refresh. It shows the same data for any date range.

Has anyone seen this problem? What could be done to fix the issue. Is there any setting on the SQL server to fix this?

After adding filter, data fetch limit error

Alright, so i'm getting the "this page has exceeded its data fetch limit for connected web parts" error.
But it only happens if i add a filter.

Currently I have 6 lists on the page and am using 4 filters, so why can't I add a 5th filter?

Forgot to mention that I added the filters with SharePoint designer 2007

How do I limit size of Usage ( Usage and Health Data Collection ) database size please?

How do I control the size of my usage database ( Usage and Health Data Collection database ) in SP2010 so it never exceeds a certain size?

Its not clear how you do this - does anyone know? I want to set it so it never exceeds 100 GB in size but logs pretty much everything.

Thanks in advance,

The number of calls to the Changed event for a single update in the data exceeded the maximum limit.

Dear All,

We have hit the big limit of 16 change events per single update.  Is there any way to extend this to say 25, we are not using infinate loops or anything.

Alternatively, is it possible to disable some change events when values are updated?
