How to disable context menu command

Tim's blog post discusses commands in the rehosted designer.  This post has been very helpful.  Now what I'm trying to do is to customize the context menu that appears for activity designers.  I used the idea from the blog post to capture the designer's cut command PreviewCanExecute:

                <CommandBinding Command="sapv:DesignerView.CutCommand"  CanExecute="CommandBinding_CanCutExecute" PreviewCanExecute="CommandBinding_PreviewCanCutExecute"/>

private void CommandBinding_CanCutExecute(object sender, CanExecuteRoutedEventArgs e)
            //Doesn't do anything, but we need to subscribe to the CanExcute handler in order to get PreviewCanExecute handler called.

        private void CommandBinding_PreviewCanCutExecute(object sender, CanExecuteRoutedEventArgs e)

Creating Sites/Lists/List Items under Current User Context in SharePoint By Using SPUserToken

Usually we do this by performing the action under RunWithElevatedPrivileges method and updating the listitem using SPListItem.SystemUpdate() method (see here). but this approach has its own flaws like (RunWithElevatedPrivileges will run under system account, we cannot use SystemUpdate for SPSite,SPWeb,SPList, since it runs under system we will "CreatedBy" by as SystemAccount).

Problem making Role based Menu in MVC application

 I want to make Rolebase menu in MVC such that if user doesnot have permission for some action then that Action name shouldnot be shown in the Menu.

 I have used the code in the url(http://forums.asp.net/t/1566328.aspx) in my MVC application.My application is a Discussion Forum(in MVC) same functionality as in this forum forums.asp.net

 I have used Controllers for post, thread etc.In each controller there are some actions that are using [Authorize(Roles)] attribute

 but this coding does not count  those Actions in Controllers having Authorize attribute according to the url http://forums.asp.net/t/1566328.aspx

 In the code, Authorize attribute is applied to Controller class, but my requirement is of Applying Authorize attribute to some actions in controller so that some are available for all users and  some links are available rolewise.Now what is the solution for that?

Cutting Edge: Adding a Context Menu to ASP.NET Controls

Although the context menu is a common element of most desktop applications, it is still fairly uncommon in Web application names because it doesn't map well to a server-based technology like ASP. NET.

(Imperfect) Solution to TreeView Postback / Client-Side Node Selection Issue

I've seen this question posted on all corners of the web... "How do I disable "AutoPostBack" on the ASP.NET 2.0 TreeView control?!"  Unfortunately, most of the answers either don't work, miss the point (don't work right), or boil down to "You can't do it."  I happen to know that this behavior worked perfectly in the IEWebControls TreeView that Microsoft released as an add-on prior to ASP.NET 2.0, however.  So I set out to find a solution for the ASP.NET 2.0 TreeView issue.

In a nutshell, the behavior that I and others are looking for is to have a TreeView rendered in a page that allows the user to expand, contract, and select nodes within the TreeView without causing a PostBack to the server.  This implies two things: (1) the most recently-selected node should be recorded as the currently-selected node [i.e., at PostBack time, the most-recently selected node is actually represented as the SelectedNode]; and (2) the selected node should exhibit the SelectedNodeStyle as specified in the TreeView declaration.

It appears that the TreeView engineers saw only two possible outcomes from selecting a leaf node in a tree: (1) immediately posting back to the server, or (2) immediately navigating to another web page.  They apparently did not consider option (3) just allowing selection in-place on the client, while waiting for a click on so

Menu items of Welcome control behaves incorrect in non-IE browsers.

We are using wss 3.0 sp2

I am referring to the welcome control that is part of standard sharepoint pages. This is the in the masterpage. The welcome contrrol has options such as 'sign-in as different user' , 'signout' and so on. When user takes the mouse and tries to click on the sub-menu it doesn't work as if the menu item is not getting focussed (however up/down arrow with keyboard works fine).

I know that sharepoint sites are not best when viewed with firefox, safari, chrome etc  but is there a fix for this? Is it do with 'z' index setting or something? Can this be fixed through javascript?

Please share your views/solution.

How to Make CSS for Hyperlinks NOT Affect Menu Items

VWD 2008 Express.

I have the following CSS in my DefaultStyleSheet.css file.  I want this to only apply to text hyperlinks (like links to web sites or email addresses) but NOT to my asp:menu items.  I am finding that although I have defined my asp:menu items in the menu properties, the colors in the text in the menu tabs get overridden by the CSS below.  How can I make this not happen?  Thanks for any help.

{color:#6F928B; text-decoration: none}

{color: #660066;}

Disable links based on membership

I've somehow managed to successfully get Membership working on a test site I'm playing with (learning!). I've reached a point where I can redirect users to another page if they do not have the required level of membership - using the allow feature in a web.config within a folder.

What I would like to do now is create a main menu of links (a back office menu visible after the use has logged in), and disable a link if they do not have access to view that page. Is this complex? I'd be grateful for any sample code to get me started.

Many thanks

Context Menu And Mouse Click Issue

Hello. I am trying to show a context menu at runtime on MouseRightButtonUp, while over a selected image. I also have left mouse button events set up for the selected image. For some reason I cannot get the context menu to show unless I click the left mouse button and while it is held down click the right mouse button and keep it down while I release the left mouse button, followed by releasing the right mouse button. I tested the MouseRightButtonUp event using a simple MessageBox and did not have any problems; it worked as expected when the right mouse button was released. Here is the code: //add behavior for right mouse on this image. img.MouseRightButtonUp += (sender, e) => { //Create Context Menu ContextMenu menu = new ContextMenu(); //img is an Image img.ContextMenu = menu; //Add context menu item MenuItem photoNewWindow = new MenuItem(); photoNewWindow.Header = "Open Original Image"; photoNewWindow.Click += OpenOriginal; //Add menu items to context menu menu.Items.Add(photoNewWindow); //change the current image currentImage = img; }; // add behavior for mouse click on this image. img.MouseLeftButtonUp += (sender, e) => { // left mouse stuff }; Thanks!

Disable Master Page Menu

Dear all, How can I disable the master page menu? The following line does not work. this.Master.findcontrol("menu1").visible=false;  Moreover, if this line is put before the function database processing (Code Behind) in the button click, would the menu bar become invisible during function database processing? I think it is different from web application and intranet application.

Menu with Static and Dynamic Menu Items

I need to populate a menu with static and dynamic (at runtime) menu items.  I know this issue has been posted before, but I haven't seen anything with a date newer than 2009. This is what I want to do: <Menu> <Menu.ItemsSource>                     <CompositeCollection>                      <MenuItem Header="Menu Item 1" /> <MenuItem Header="Menu Item 2" /> <MenuItem Header="Menu Item 3" />                         <CollectionContainer Collection="{Binding MyMenuItems}" />                     </CompositeCollection> </Menu.ItemsSource> </Menu>   The posts every where say the issue is that CompositeCollection is not freezable.  Regardless of that arguement, has anyone come up with a good solution.  I don't want to create it all in code behind because it is a decent size menu with separators, etc.  This seems like something that should have been fixed or have a decent work round by now.   Thanks.

disable browser keys & menu functions

I ran across a few links on making an asp.net app fullscreen with javascript.    But I'd also like to keep users withing my app unless they log out.    How do you disable ctrl-esc, ctrl-c, window, selection & right mouse click?    Are there any other keys you can use to prevent a user from either copying data from a browser window or closing it?     That would also mean eliminating or suppressing the upper right hand minimize & close buttons in browser windows and the file menu.     If the code is specific to internet explorer then I'd also have to check whether their browsing from a firefox browser, unless the code would be the same for both.

Customize SharePoint Library Menu Items

Hi, In a library with file, the menu items available for any file is: View Properties, Edit Properties, Manage Permissions, Edit in <ApplicationName>, Delete, Send To, Check Out, Workflows, Alert Me . Now, I want to get rid of Edit Properties, Manage Permissions, Edit in <ApplicationName>, Delete, Check Out . Added to this is the need to remove the option in the Actions menu that states "Open With Windows Explorer " and finally the "Upload " menu is to go out. Any JScript for this or a file I need to edit to get this result? I need this because the business wants it out, its bordering on security. ThanksYou've only got one life; help as many people as you can, and enjoy it while it lasts.
