create an infopath form that receive and submit data to sql server database in the same form

i want to create an infopath form that can receive the data out of the slq server database and edit the data in the database and then submit it.

here is what i did so far.

i created a data connection to a sql server database to SUBMIT the data.

also i created a data connection to the same sql server database to RECEIVE the data.

when i open the form the user and the user's details are already filled in the form, now i need to let the user edit the data in the fields or add a new data in a field and then the form need to be submitted to a temporary database to be checked first by an approver and after approval the form must be submitted to the real sql server database.

i tought about that the approver just need to click a button and the data will be submitted to the the real database.

both the temporary and the real database has the same tables and fields.

i just need to know how to edit and submit the data to the temporary later to the real database

Create a pdf document from win form application by fetching fields from database

Assuming i have a winform that has a button called "Create a Quote". Once user clicks it, a PDF File gets created on desktop. The PDF File has a fixed design/structure e.g. the logo is at the top left corner, the headers are fixed, etc. However, the data it self is pulled from a database.

As you see above, Quotation #, Description, Qty, U.P (USD), T.P (USD) records should be fetched from the db and dumped in the pdf template then create the pdf for user.

I haven't done this before. I hope my question is clear enough. Feel free to put useful web links that help me achieve it.

Any help will be appreciated.

Multiple database support with Entity Framework

One of the features introduced in Entity Framework is being database independent. Which mean each database provider can support Entity Framework by implementing its provider.

This feature allows you build applications independent from the underplaying database provider. In this post I'm going to show how to build an application that support multiple databases using same conceptual model made by Entity Framework.

	for (var i=0; i<inputs.length; i++){

		if (inputs[i].parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0]) {
			// the span exists! on focus, show the hint
			inputs[i].onfocus = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "inline";

Yukon Basics: XML, T-SQL, and the CLR Create a New World of Database Programming

The next version of SQL Server, code-named "Yukon," includes quite a few enhancements and expanded language support. For example, Transact-SQL now conforms more closely to the ANSI-99 SQL specification and makes querying more flexible and expressive. Yukon can execute user-defined functions, stored procedures, and triggers written in CLR-targeted languages, including Visual Basic .NET and C#. It supports a subset of the W3C standard XQuery language, and has native XML support.In this article, the author outlines the most significant language features and builds an order-entry sample app.

Metadata: Create a Database Schema Repository with Meta Data Services in SQL Server 2000

SQL Server 2000 Meta Data Services is a repository technology that stores and manages metadata for SQL Server. Instead of building database schemas over and over, Meta Data Services allows you to freeze an entire schema for use in other projects. You can also use these schemas for training, testing, or debugging. In this article, the authors will review the various components of Meta Data Services and show how it can be programmed using a Visual Basic client, XML, and XSLT. They will also show you how to manage and manipulate your metadata by generating a simple database schema using a SQL Server repository.

VS2010 Express ASP.net and database file with SQL Authentication - How to create database file with

Hi, I have installed Visual Studio 2010 Express in my local system.

Steps 1. File->New Website

 2.Open datbase explorer, right click on dataconnection

 3.Select Create new connection

 4.use Microsoft SQL Server Database file

5. Type new databse filename

6. Now i want to use SQL authentication which is not working

 7.If we use windows authentication its wokring without any problem

8.But i need sql authentication to be used.

 9.I have not installed SQL studio.

 I am only using the one which is packaged in VisualStudio 2010 SQLClient. Let me know how can we create a new database file with userID and password. So that i can host it in other systems as well without any windows authentication.  I know that VS2010 setup also installs the SQL client which is requiredto create and manage sql databse files/quries etc

i dont know the default userID and password for SQLauthentication. As the express setup did not asked any credentials while installing SQL components

Thanks and regards

Entity Data Model and database view returning the same columns as there are in a table

When adding a stored procedure into the Entity Data Model I can select whether the procedure returns a scalar, a (new) complex type or one of the entity types I already defined.

How do I do something similar for a view?

I mean assuming I have a view like this

CREATE VIEW FilteredFoos as SELECT Foo.* FROM Foo join ... WHERE ...

(that is a view that implements some involved filtering, but returns all columns from one table) how do I add it to the project so that I can use the entity set, but get the Foo objects, not some new FilteredFoo objects.

var foos = myDB.FilteredFoos.Include("Bar").ToList();

foreach (Foo foo in foos) { ...

Thanks, Jenda

InfoPath form checked out so 'on create' workflow not being started

Hi all,

I have found a couple of threads asking for advice on how to check in an InfoPath form when it’s saved or submitted to a forms library. The reason for doing this is so a workflow can start based on a new item being created in that library, and so it doesn’t just sit there with a “Starting” status.

The answers I have found contradict each other:

·         You have to do it with a workflow.  This can be done easily with SharePoint Designer if that's an option for you. Source:

Programmatically create an InfoPath form

I'm programmatically creating an InfoPath form using this article: http://www.bizsupportonline.net/infopath2007/programmatically-create-infopath-form-console-app.htm.

Everything works well up to 29 fields (my:field1 ... my:field29). After that it runs without an error and posts a form to the library however the icon does not switch to an infopath icon and the filename stays blanks. I don't believe this field specific, it seems to be happening when I use any 29 to 30 fields so I'm thinking its a memory issue with the stream reader.

Has anybody every had this issue before, is there a way to fix this?
