SSIS Text was truncated with status value 4

I am developing a SSIS package, trying to update an existing SQL table from a CSV flat file. All of the columns are successfully updating except for one column. If I ignore this column on truncate, my package completes successfully. So I know this is a truncate problem and not error. This column is empty for almost every row. However, there are a few rows where this field is 200-300 characters. My data conversion task identified this field as a DT_WSTR, but from what I've read elsewhere maybe this should be DT_NTEXT. I've tried both and I even set the DT_WSTR to 500. But none of this fixed my problem. How can I fix? What data type should this column be in my SQL table? Error: 0xC02020A1 at Data Flow Task 1, Source - Berkeley812_csv [1]: Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "Reason for Delay in Transition" returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page.". Error: 0xC020902A at Data Flow Task 1, Source - Berkeley812_csv [1]: The "output column "Reason for Delay in Transition" (110)" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "output column "Reason for Delay in Transition" (110)" specifies failure on truncation. Migrating existing cleat text users password to hashed password Membership Provider

Hello all ,I had been trying to solve this but there is a hidden key i wish someone point me to.I had a simple membership database with users in first the Membership  Provider configured for clear passwordto retrieve the original password .Now a new requirement say that the password must be hashed and reset .I configure the Membership password to hash , and Implemented the Reset Password Module. My problem is as follow. If the user is new registered user with the new configuration the password and the security answer is hashed.also when I go and reset the password it continue to be hashed. Now I thought that with new configuration if any previous user with clear text configuration , If he use the password Reset module , because my configuration now is hashed , I expected that the new password  and security answer will be hashed  . what happen is old user continue in clear text even if the configuration is hashed.so If I had new users everything is fine.old users Membership Provider somehow know they had been stored in clear text and it keep change password and security answer in clear text .If I delete this user and create it , Membership Provider understand that everything will be hashed.I need to know how it know this , I need to migrate users not to delete and recreate users .If there is a solution for that kindly expl

Blurry text in WPF - current status?

Hi,   I was trying to find out if the blurry text I'm seeing in my WPF application could be due to something I'm doing wrong. But then I realized that other people's examples have it as well, and discovered several reported issues with blurry text rendering in WPF (all of them from some time ago) and I tried to find out whether a solution exists now. But I couldn't.   So, I guess this is the right place to ask: has this issue with blurry text rendering in WPF been addressed by now? Or do we really need to live with it (and hopefully our customers too)?   Although I noticed it right away, I never paid much attention to it because I thought "it's probably a setting somewhere", but so it seems not? Or has this changed?   Here at home, I'm on an "old" analog 19" monitor (1280x1024), and I tried all combinations of "smooth edges of screen fonts". It also shows on the Vista-based machine at the office with a 24" LCD screen.   What am I missing?   Koen   ---------- System specs: CPU: AMD XP 2400+ RAM memory: 1024 MB Graphics card: ASUS V9520 VS OS: Windows XP SP2 DirectX: 9.0c

Problem tabbing among text boxes with AJAX

We are having a problem with a form with four text boxes. If you enter a value in the first two boxes, pressing TAB as you switch between the text boxes, the data is retained in the text box as you would expect.  However, the third and fourth text boxes won't retain any data.  This happens in IE 8 but not FireFox 3.5.  The problem won't occur if you use the mouse to switch between text boxes. The problem goes away if we remove the AJAX code, but we want to retain the AJAX code so that some other things happen without postbacks.  I can upload a sample website if that will help, but I don't see where I can upload the files. We're using Visual Studio 2010 and VB.NET in an ASP.NET project.   Protected ToolkitScriptManager1.SetFocus(TextBox2)     Sub TextBox1_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TextBox1.TextChangedEnd Sub   ToolkitScriptManager1.SetFocus(TextBox3)     Protected Sub TextBox2_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TextBox2.TextChangedEnd Sub   ToolkitScriptManager1.SetFocus(TextBox4)      Protected Sub TextBox3_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles TextBox3.TextChangedEnd Sub

highlighting the text of the selected item in Ajax Combobox

Is there a way to programmatically select the entire string of the selected item in the AJAX Combobox?

What I'm trying to do is bascially on a State/City selection.

1.  User selects a State from the first combobox.  This triggers the City combobox to be populated.  The item(0) is "Select One:".

2.  I want the entire "Select One:" to be hightlight as if the user had used their mouse and highlighted all the text.

The reason for this that I'd like the user to be able to start typing the city without needing to clear out the "Select One:" manually.

Can this be done?

Password Strength Expression

It's been a while since I've had to use regular expressions.

Can someone explain this to me in layman's terms?

MVC 2, ajax.actionlink and updating the link text onSuccess

I have a scenario where the ajax actionlink text is 'Apply'..On clicking this and calling an action successfully, i want the link to be disabled and to be changed to 'Application successful'.

The conversion returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or morecharacters

[Datatype Conversion  Name [69]] Error: Data conversion failed while converting column
"TaskDescription" (35) to column "C_TaskDescription" (276).
The conversion returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or morecharacters had no match in the target code page.".

The attempt to add a row to the Data Flow task buffer failed with error code 0xC0047020

This is working fine in VS2005.  Above both errors Only after upgradation of the package  to 2008.

Required Reg Expression for Password Strength

I have the following password rules.  I need regular expression for this.

Please follow the following password rules:

a.        Password should be between 8 and 20 characters

b.       Password should have minimum 1 alpha and 1 numeric characters

Microsoft AJAX CDN

Content delivery networks (CDNs) are composed of "edge cache" servers that are strategically placed around the world at key Internet network points. These "edge cache" servers can be used to cache and deliver all types of content - including images, videos, CSS and JavaScript files.

Using a CDN can significantly improve a website's end-user performance, since it enables browsers to more quickly retrieve and download content. For example, instead of having a browser request for an image traverse all the way across the Internet to your web server to download, a CDN can instead serve the request directly from a nearby "edge cache" server that might only be a single network hop away from your customer (making it return much faster - which makes your pages load quicker).

AJAX GridView Checkbox Select All in ASP.Net

In the previous article GridView Select Multiple Rows you learnt the multiple row selection in GridView control. Here you will get the C# code sample to select all the gridview rows using single checkbox server control. You can highlight the selected rows with different color and Font state Bold. If you want to use the selection values on different ASP.Net

AJAX GridView Paging and Sorting using C# in ASP.Net

To enable the GridView Paging and Sorting to update the GridView Data without refreshing the ASP.Net web page AJAX Extension controls are used. UpdatePanel is used to hold the GridView control that triggers the events for the controls placed inside it. By Default UpdatePanel triggers the asynchronous postbacks for its child controls.

jQuery $(document).ready() and ASP.NET Ajax asynchronous postback

Many call it the ASP.NET jQuery postback problem, but using the technique below should make it no problem anymore. $(document).ready() isn't called after an asynchronous postback. What this means? You lose the functionality that should be executed within $(document).ready() after an UpdatePanel rendered its contents after an asynchronous postback.

Making Ajax Callbacks to the Server Using jQuery with ASP.NET

In the first part of this article series I introduced jQuery's functionality and how it provides a rich client side programming model. This time around I'll expand on these concepts and show you how you can use jQuery in combination with ASP.NET using it as an AJAX backend to retrieve data. I'll also discuss how you can create ASP.NET controls and otherwise interact with jQuery content from ASP.NET pages in WebForms.

jQuery is just a JavaScript library so it will work seamlessly with ASP.NET both from page code as well as through backend driven code using the Page.ClientScript object or ScriptManager. You can use jQuery on its own as a client side and Ajax library that communicates with ASP.NET or you can use jQuery in combination with ASP.NET AJAX. The two actually complement each other quite well as jQuery provides functionality that the ASP.NET AJAX library does not and vice versa. For the most part the interaction between the two libraries is trouble free except for a few very rare edge cases.
