Button to copy selected item in dropdown to textbox

Hi, I found this bit of code which I tried and it isn't working. I just want to place a button next to a dropdown, and when clicked, the selected item in the dropdown will put into another textbox. <head><title>Untitled</title></head><body><script type="text/javascript">function copy() {var sel = document.getElementById("names");var text = sel.options.value;var out = document.getElementById("output");out.value += text+"\n";}</script> <select id="names"><option>Product One</option><option>Product Two</option><option>Product Three</option><option>Product Four</option></select><input type="button" onclick="copy()" value="Copy"><textarea id="output"></textarea> </body></html>   I saved this as a file and opened it in IE to test and nothing went into the textarea. Also i tried it in Firefox and the textarea said undefined each time I click the button. Can someone help to get this working?

Custom List Row association to multiple documents - Design choices?

I want to associate custom list entries to muliple documents. Thinking about options.   1 row will have many docs, but one doc will only have one row. Possible? Trying to keep it simple with minimal development. I was thinking I could have a unique column or the id column in the list act like a key (somehow).. and  add a required column to the document list requiring it to tie back to the list entry.  Then a view could drive listing all the docs for a particular row from a link in the list built in a custom dataview. All the docs could be in the same library. Is the the best approach? Ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

Multiple instance of User Control on Page - Button Click Event

Hi, I have this Web User Control, with 3 controls:<asp:TextBox ID="txtSearch" runat="server" /> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="rfvSearch" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtSearch" Display="None" /> <asp:Button ID="btnSearch" runat="server" onclick="btnSearch_Click" /> In code behind: protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer) { rfvSearch.ValidationGroup = this.ID + "_validation"; txtSearch.ValidationGroup = this.ID + "_validation"; btnSearch.ValidationGroup = this.ID + "_validation"; base.Render(writer); } protected void btnSearch_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { Response.Redirect("ResultadoSearch.aspx?argumento=" + txtSearch.Text); } When I try to add two UserControl and I Click in btnSearch of second UserControl, txtSearch.txt returns value of first User control.How I can get the value of second txtSearch?

Reset button to change the value of dropdown lists

I have 4 dropdown lists adjacent to eachother that are only visible depending on the value of the preceeding dropdown. The dropdowns contain information relating to injuries and the plan is to make the users choose items from the dropdown list to define their injuries.

 - The first dropdown defines what kind of injury (laceration, bruise, break etc...)

 - The second defines where (arm, head, neck, finger)

 - The third defines further detail (left, right, N/A)

 - The last defines further detail again (upper, lower, N/A etc...)

I basically want a reset button that when clicked, resets the value's of these dropdowns to their initalvalue; '{Select}' (as i have a required field validator preventing '{Select'} from being the given value)

can someone please assist. I'd quite like the button to postback so that the change happens and the page refreshes and i need the validations to refresh also.

Alternatively is someone has a better approach feel free to let me know your thoughts. I don't have an current code as I haven't even been able to ge this working yet!

Multiple issues with dropdown list controls not working correctly

I am using WSS 3.0 and SharePoint Designer.  I have modified one of the items in my NewForm page so that I have a filtered lookup using a spdatasource. The filter works great, but my issue is that I can't seem to save the users selection back to the list itself.

Issue when using an ASP.NET dropdown list
I am able to bind the filtered spdatasource to an ASP.NET dropdown list control, however the item that is selected in the dropdown list is not being saved back to the list.  I am guessing that this is because the dropdown list itself is not tied directly to the appropriate list item, but... I can't seem to figure out how or where to do this.  I don't see anything in the data properties box in SharePoint Designer that allows me to tie the data back to the list itself.  Maybe I am just overlooking it somewhere?

Issue when using the native SharePoint Data View DropDownList with a filtered spdatasource
When I select "Data Fields..." on the dropdown control I get the Change Data Bindings dialog box.  From here I can select a data field to save the value back to (which resolves the issue noted for the asp.net control) and I can select my spdatasource, but... the display text and value fields below that never populate.  Thus, the dropdown list is empty when the user is filling ou

Grouping by "multiple choices" column

This is for Sharepoint 2010

In a document library, I am trying to create a view that would group files by "projects". A file could be part of multiple projects.

file1.doc : projectA, projectB
file2.doc : projectB
file3.doc : projectB, projectC

I would like the view to show things this way :

By default Sharepoint does not allow grouping by "multiple choices" columns. However it seems that using sharepoint designer this could be done. I could only find articles on how to do this in MOSS 2007 but not MOSS 2010 (http://blog-sharepoint.blogspot.com/2009/09/solved-cant-group-by-choice-column-in.html).

Any suggestion on how I could achieve my goal with sharepoint designer 2010 ?

Thank you

AutoPostBack issue with other web controls resulting in multiple clicks on "Save" Button

A new ASP.NET web application that I've been working on has among other web controls on the DetailView, a DropDownList for Category (ddlCategory) a TextBox for Quantity (txtQuantity) a Label for the Rate (lblRate) and a Label for the Amount (lblAmount) along with a Save button (btnSave), etc.; there are also TabIndexes set to progressively navigate from control-to-control ending on the Save button.  NOTE: the user would like to see the Rate & Amount values in the DetailView prior to saving the record.

The Rate is determined by the selected the Category so I have the AutoPostBack property set to "true" on ddlCategory to make a call to the database to retrieve the Rate on the SelectedIndexChanged event; likewise, the AutoPostBack property on txtQuantity is set to "true" in order to compute the Amount (and populate lblAmount) once the user enters a Quantity.  Theoretically, the user could enter the values sequentially and still go back to change the Category prior to the save so simply performing some client-side JavaScript to compute the Amount would not be bulletproof.

Everything works according to plan when the user tabs from control-to-control {e.g., Category > Quantity > Save}, or tabs off the control.  However, the problem occurs when the user enters all the values and then clicks on the Save button without tabbing off the

How to walk down ModelItem tree multiple times

Hi all,

This question raised from this discussion

I'm wondering whether we can walk down ModelItem tree multiple times, so that I can perform full tree traversal on the ModelItem tree.

For example:

I have Sequence A which consists of Sequence B.

Sequence B consists of a WriteLine activity.

So currently I have ModelItem instance of Sequence A and I would like to get WriteLine's ModelItem instance.

How to perform that action?
