Setting the default start page in godaddy hosting?

 How do you set the start page with godaddy hosting? I can see no way of doing this! You do not seem to have access to the IIS settings that allow you to change it!

Invalid length for a Base-64 char array for my coding in ASP.net C#. How to solve it ?

Hi Friends ,

I have done encrypted password and decode but i got error  like  this  " Invalid length for a Base-64 char array" .

Pls help . Thanks

psswd = txtPassword.Text;

pwed = base64Decode(psswd);

public string base64Decode(string sData)

            System.Text.Decoder utf8Decode = encoder.GetDecoder();

            int charCount = utf8Decode.GetCharCount(todecode_byte, 0, todecode_byte.Length);
            char[] decoded_char = new char[charCount];

insufficient result space to convert uniqueidentifier value to char

Hi guys,

       Look, I've been trying to insert new values while I create a new user with a createuserwizard, but I've been getting this error over and over again:

"insufficient result space to convert uniqueidentifier value to char"

       The code that does it is the following:

  protected void CreateUserWizard1_CreatedUser(object sender, EventArgs e)
TextBox UserNameTextBox = (TextBox)CreateUserWizardStep2.ContentTemplateContainer.FindControl("UserName");

SqlDataSource DataSource = (SqlDataSource)CreateUserWizardStep2.ContentTemplateContainer.FindControl("InsertExtraInfo");

MembershipUser User = Membership.GetUser(UserNameTextBox.Text);

object UserGUID = User.ProviderUserKey;

DataSource.InsertParameters.Add("UserId", UserGUID.ToString());

      But when I debug, the error is thrown before reaching the previous code, so I suppose the error is in the SqlDataSource, look:

      <asp:SqlDataSource ID="InsertExtraInfo" runat="server" Co

WCF REST webservice authentication error when hosted with godaddy

Hi guys, I'm currently hosting my site on a shared windows hosting box with Godaddy. I have upgraded my hosting account to .NET 3.5 and having IIS7 as well which is in integrated pipeline mode. I recently build a simple WCF web service using the REST started kit preview 2. Once i uploaded it to the server, I am getting this error"IIS specified authentication schemes 'Basic, Anonymous', but the binding only supports specification of exactly one authentication scheme. Valid authentication schemes are Digest, Negotiate, NTLM, Basic, or Anonymous. Change the IIS settings so that only a single authentication scheme is used." You can see it here:http://sawasdeethaiart.com/service.svcThe obvious fix for as i have read from various websites, is to make sure I configure my IIS to have either Basic or Anonymous specification enabled. But as i am on a shared hosting account, i dont have any access to do this. (I have checked all my options in the IIS hosting panel, but there is no option). I am also done this in my web.config<authentication mode="None"></authentication> Is there any other option I can add  to my web.config to overcome this? or is there any other fix for this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Mark

WCF on GoDaddy - Compiler doesn't recognize [OperationContract]

I've created a bare-bones WCF service (with just the default DoWork method in order to simplify things) and it compiles and runs just fine on my local computer running Visual Studio. When I deploy the service to my GoDaddy server, I get the following error. Description: An error occurred during the compilation of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately. Compiler Error Message: CS0246: The type or namespace name 'OperationContract' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) WCF GoDaddy Account

Hello,I have a WCF service which I have deployed on a GoDaddy account.  All of the service functions seem to work correctly except for one of them.This function has the operation contract:       [OperationContract]        [WebGet(RequestFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json,            ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json,             BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.Wrapped,            UriTemplate = "GetLocations/{location}")]        List<Location> GetLocations(string location);        [OperationContract(AsyncPattern = true)]        IAsyncResult BeginGetLocations(string location, AsyncCallback callback, object state);        List<Location> EndGetLocations(IAsyncResult result);Most of the other functions follow the same pattern, except they return simple data types, such as int or double.  However, this one when executed on GoDaddy returns no data.  It simply looks like the Web page is doing something, and then says done.  Now, I've tested and debugged it on my local machine, and everything works perfectly.I know GoDaddy has had some missing configuration settings, and other things that needed to be set up for WCF to work, and to my knowledge I have done everything.I think that maybe this issue is occurring because a generic list is being returned (which is serialized as an array) instead of a simple data type.  Perhaps GoDaddy is missing another configuration

GoDaddy + WCF REST Service

I am newbie when it comes to developing a WCF REST Service. I have been reading up and have worked through hands-on labs/watched videos by Ron Jacobs to help me get a hold of WCF REST.  I have had no problems running my web service on my localhost. However it is now time to upload my "WCF Service Application" (not WCF Library) to GoDaddy's servers and this is where I am running into issues. As per Ron Jacobs tutorials I have removed my endpoints from my web.config file and the markup code in my .svc file now reads: <%@ ServiceHost Language="C#" Debug="true" Service="DealService.Service" CodeBehind="Service.svc.cs" Factory="System.ServiceModel.Activation.WebServiceHostFactory"%> I proceeded to compile and then upload my code to GoDaddy and now am trying to access the web service, but am receiving the following error: Server Error in '/' Application. Parser Error Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.  Parser Error Message: The CLR Type 'System.ServiceModel.Activation.WebServiceHostFactory' could not be loaded during service compilation. Verify that this type is either defined in a source file located in the application's \App

GoDaddy - Security Exception

Hi guys!GoDaddy is playing with my emotions! I got the Security exception error when connecting to MySQL database. I followed the steps suggested by the GoDaddy support on this forum at http://forums.asp.net/t/999456.aspx?PageIndex=1 but I still have the exception!i downloaded the latest version of the data connector, added the [assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers] to the AssemblyInfo.cs, built the solution again, put the generated dll in a Bin folder on my website, ran it and nothing happend Have I done something wrong?I'm pissed because they posted the solution here and when I sent them an email asking for support they said "The error you are encountering is due to the Trust Level that is set on shared server hosting. Your program is attempting to use Full Trust settings, however, shared hosting is set at Medium. In order to have Full Trust enabled you will need to move up to a Virtual Dedicated Server."That's redicolous!!!! Do this DLL thing work for real?This is my code, in case you have some doubts of what I am doing. <asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="DKName" DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="data2" HeaderText=&

GoDaddy Hosting Issue

I am very new to this... I created a very simple website using a .master file and I have the navigation linked to my sitemap (all through Microsoft Expression Web). When I open the site through the development server everything works OK, but when I look at the live website on Godaddy, the sitemap path (bread crumbs) do not show up on any pages that are indented beyond the root. www.team300.com This is my sitemap<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <siteMap xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AspNet/SiteMap-File-1.0" > <siteMapNode url="Default.aspx" title="Home" description="Team300"> <siteMapNode url="About.aspx" title="About Us" description="About Us" /> <siteMapNode url="Listings.aspx" title="Real Estate Listings" description="Listings" /> <siteMapNode url="\Services.aspx" title="Services" description="Contact Us" > <siteMapNode url="\Buyers.aspx" title="Buyers" description="Contact Us" /> <siteMapNode url="\Sellers.aspx" title="Sellers" description="Contact Us" /> <siteMapNode url="\Asset_Managers.aspx" title="Asset Managers" description="Contact Us" />
