Site Web Analytics reports and Site Collection Web Analytics reports show no data

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 18, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

Although I have enabled all the web analytics and health data collection option and can see that usage data files are being created both my Site Web and Site Collection analytics reports show no activity. I have checked the Sharepoint 2010 documentation and it basically states only thing to do is enable the respective option under the 'Configure web analytics and health data collection' section.

Permission for Site Web Analytics reports

Hi,

What is the minimum permission I have to give to the user so that he/she will be able to see "Site Actions |
Site Web Analytics reports"? Is that Manage Hierarchy? But it just let the users do more than I want.

Please advice. Thanks in advance. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Checked out to me reports visible on one site in a collection but not on another one

We have two main sites on our main site collection - //myMoss/sites/site 1 and //myMoss/sites/site 2 plus the personal sites //myMoss/Personal/

One of the sites, Site 1 above, has "Veiw Reports" as an option for Site Settings and among those reports is the option to review "Documents Checked Out to Me". The other two sites don't have this feature, which would be a nice feature for all the sites.

The portal has been up for a few years now and have no memory whatsoever as to how I got this to work for first time.

Can anyone remind me? (Moss 2007 BTW)

Search Usage Reports Missing for Site

We have Usage Analysis enabled on our employee portal farm.  The SSP in this farm crawls all local SharePoint sites and one child farm.  When we view search and query reports, one of the site collections (in a dedicated web app) is missing.  All other web apps/site collections appear in the search/query reports.  The missing site collection is using the standard search pages and web parts - no customization with the object model that might break usage logging.

Has anyone else ran into this or know the solution?

Share Point integrated SSRS reports rendering when access from external site

Our client has a SharePoint (moss2007) site on Windows 2008, SQL2008 R2 Enterprise, and Reporting service is integrated with SharePoint

The authentication on the share point integration is set to windows, else the authentication for the SSAS datasource gives and error

The extranet zone ( forms) and intranet (Customer Forms) and default (Windows) zones are all access from inside the firewall and the reports render in each with no issues, as the datasources are configured to pass a sql username and password.

However, report rendering is a problem from the internet (external site), the following error is displayed:

An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is avai

Site Collection Usage Summary: No Data Available

Usage analysis processing is enable for my farm in both Central Administration and in the SSP.

I've checked TImer Job Status and the three timer jobs responsible for doing the log analsis are all running.

I've also checked the log file locations and the log files are being generated.

Yet when I browse the "Site collection usage summary" report (SpUsageSite.aspx) I get the following:

No data is available for this report. Usage analysis might have been enabled only recently, or there might have been insufficient usage to result in any values for the report.

My farm is running 2007 Enterprise SP2 (12.0.0.6421).

Can someone confirm if this issue was fixed with one of the CU's that were issues post-SP2?

Attach site collection data from content databases

I have migrated my Sharepoint from a stand-alone installation to a server farm installation by following this article. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262325%28office.12%29.aspx Every step was completed successfully, except for the last one (4): Install Office SharePoint Server 2007 on a new farm Move databases from the stand-alone server to the server farm Create and attach data from the Shared Services Provider (SSP) Attach site collection data from content databases Whenever I try using the stsadm -o extendvs I get the following message: The IIS Web Site you have selected is in use by SharePoint.  You must select another port or hostname.   The following is the command: STSADM.EXE -o extendvs -url http://dms01 -ownerlogin group\dms -owneremail dms@xxx.com -exclusivelyusentlm -databaseserver jagrb -databasename WSS_Content -apcreatenew -apidname DMS -apidtype configurableid -apidlogin group\dms -apidpwd xxxx   So far, all my efforts to Attach the site collection data from the content databases have failed. Site Usage Reports web User Interface not working

When we go to a subsite of a web application, we get the message: "No data is available for this report. Usage analysis might have been enabled recently, or there might have been insufficient usage to report in any values for the report"

We have followed the instructions to configure the site usage reports on the farm and have checked to see whether the reports feature is activated etc. We do have the logs folder location at default path and have ensured the wss_adm groups have the appropriate permission. We also have logs turned on at the iis web app area.

This problem is farm wide and occurs on the different web applications we have in the farm.

so plz any help???

Display Site Usage reports in web part

Hello,

Is there any way to display Site Usage reports that SharePoint 2010 provides out of box under Site Collection in a custom page using Custom or any OOB web part? We tried to make use of Web Analytics report, which does not allow us to display reports generated by SharePoint, however it has its own algorithm.

Please let us know if some one tried in this direction.

Thanks in advance.

Applications-Projects site reports RunDataMacro action failed for macro 'Users.VerifyUsers'.

Hi,

We are trying to evaluate the applicability of the Applications-> Projects site collection for internal use in our company.  I am able to successfully create the Site Collection.  However when I navigate to the home page I get the following error

RunDataMacro action failed for macro 'Users.VerifyUsers'.

On viewing the EventLog I see the following error

No Excel Calculation Services is available in the farm.[User: SHAREPOINT\system]

However I do have "Exceul Calculation Services" running on a server in the Farm.  Is there any additional step which I need to perform in order to associate the service with the farm?  The server is a standalone server which is not connected to any domain.  I am using the location administrator account.

Thanks
Arjuna.

When opening the Reports site, I get "A name was started with an invalid character." error

Hello, I am running out of ideas on how to get SSRS to work.  I am trying get this setup with the intention to replace our Crystal Reports server.  Currently I have set up the RS Virtual Directory on a Win XP box.  The ReportServer database sits on another SQL2000 box.

I can connect to the http://localhost/ReportServer/ on the XP box to display the page the depicts "Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 9.00.2047.00"

When I connect to the http://localhost/Reports/, I get this error "A name was started with an invalid character. Error processing resource 'http://leej/Reports/'. Line 1, Position 2"   I checked my IIS Virtual Directory properties for Reports and ASP.NET is set to v2.0.50727.   I also executed "aspnet_regiis.exe -i" in the "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727" directory.

Any thought on how to fix this?  I hate to let this blocker deters us from deploying SSRS.

Thanks,

John
