Hello there. I hope this particular problem hasn't been discussed elsewhere.
I have a SharePoint 3.0 application that integrates with TeamFoundationServer via the SDK. It works fine on Server 2003 x86.
As a company, we're moving to Server 2008 x64 so I'm trying to port the site over to the new server. If I do a new installation of SharePoint x64, the site will launch but I get errors when the 32-bit TeamFoundation DLL's are called. The errors were along
the lines of "an attempt was made to load a program in an incorrect format" which I guess is a 64-bit application pool trying to run a 32-bit process. The logical thing to do (or so I thought) was to enable 32-bit emulation in IIS. However when I do that,
the site won't run at all (Internal Server Error) which I presume is the 32-bit worker process not liking 64-bit SharePoint. Logical really.
My next thought was to install 32-bit SharePoint on the 64-bit server with IIS in 32-bit emulation mode. However all that gives me is:
Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
This 32-bit product must be run on a 32-bit Operating System.
I can't help thinking that if I can get past this point I'll be able to get my app working.
Anybody have any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
