Debug WCF Service hosted on local IIS not working

I have one solution WCFSampleSolution and it has all my projects - Web Service, Client and Website. The structure is something like:

 + WCFSampleSolution
    - C:\WCFSample\Website
    - WCFService
    - WCFWebClient

I created WCFService project for my services. It contains IService1.cs and Service1.cs. Then I hosted the service in IIS. I did this by creating a website and adding .svc and web.config files to the website project. Then published it in IIS. When I run http:\\MyMachineName\Website\Service.svc, it shows the service description. Then I create the web client that calls the webservice. I used the service reference to add the service. It calls a method of Service1. It works fine. But I amnot able to debug this program/setup. I verified the config files in WCFWebClient project and Website project and they have proper debug settings.

<compilation debug="true">

I put break points but control never goes to my seb service. I also tried attach process, but it also doesn't work. But I was able to debug one of my other WCF projects. The setup was little different. In that project I copied the .svc file and config in my web client and the debug works fine.

Please HELP!!

WCF Service to be hosted on the server with multiple IP Address

Hello all,

I am new to WCF Service. Following is my scenario

I have got a Windows Server 2008 with two NIC ie. two IP Addresses

xxx.xxx.xxx.1

xxx.xxx.xxx.2

I have got Apache server running on 1 and IIS on 2.

Now when I publish the WCF service on my service and have explicitly set the iplisten for IIS to 2. Still I am not able to access the service.

One more observation the link which I get after publishing is "svcutil.exe http://servername/Webservice/Service.svc?wsdl "

I need to have IP Address instead of servername in above URL.

Because I think the servername is causing the confusion as both IP Address 1 and 2 point to it.

Please suggest what needs to be done

Thanks in Advance.

Problem accessing a WCF IIS Hosted Service from another WCF IIS Hosted Service on the same server.

I get the error message

The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Negotiate'. The authentication header received from the server was 'Negotiate,NTLM'.

when I access a WCF service hosted in IIS(A) from another WCF service hosted in IIS(B).

I am able to access A from the same service B hosted in a wpf forms app, then I do not get an error and function is OK.

Any hints ?

3 Ways to generate proxy for WCF Service

A Proxy in Windows Communication Foundation is a class that enables client applications to communicate with a service by sending and receiving messages. It actually encapsulates a number of service details like service path, service implementation technology, platform being used, communication protocol etc. as well as all the methods (signature only) of the Service Contract.

Server side validation of Fileupload control not working

I've tried this method in my code behind to try and validate that the Fileupload control has a file or not. I get the error message the the event "Server Validate" cannot be found. Can anyone tell why? Thanks.

Public Sub CustomValidator1_ServerValidate(ByVal source As Object, ByVal args As System.Web.UI.WebControls.ServerValidateEventArgs) Handles CustomValidator1.ServerValidate

' Get file name

Dim uploadAvatar As FileUpload = DirectCast(AdvertisementForm.FindControl("uploadAvatar"), FileUpload)

Dim UploadFileName As String = uploadAvatar.PostedFile.FileName

        If UploadFileName = "" Then
' There is no file selected
            args.IsValid = False
        Else
Dim Extension As String = UploadFileName.Substring(UploadFileName.L

deploying to msdeploy does not support a proxy server

I am trying to deploy through webmatrix but my system Proxy server configuration is not being used. I assume that webmatrix would detect the proxy server settings and use that for the msdeploy calls under the hood. Can anyone confirm this is a know issue?

update/delete not working on server only

Not working on Windows Server 2008

Hi,

I had the CSS friendly adapters working great on our old server (windows server 2003 - 32bit) and now we have moved to a 64 bit environment and now I can not get the CSS friendly adapters to work.

We are using SharePoint 2007.

Is there another work thru for 64bit environment.

I notice windows server 2008 has a directory  C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 would I be using the browser file in this directory???

Please help!

C++ and ATL: Use ATL Server Classes to Expose Your Unmanaged C++ Code as an XML Web Service

Throughout this issue, you'll read all about the promise of Web Services and how the .NET Framework enables Web Service development. Many people will also be building their Web Services atop C++ code and frameworks like ATL Server, particularly when performance is paramount. In this article, the authors show how fully functional Web Services are built using ATL Server and Visual Studio .NET. Beginning with unmanaged C++ classes, they add ATL attributes that make the code work over HTTP.
