How to provision custom list and import custom aspx pages automatically in sharepoint?

What is best way to create custom list (Document library) and import custom .Net pages automatically. The goal is to avoid create the list and upload those .net page to the list manually. Any code snippet that would be great help. thanks

How to add custom list entries to mysite's calendar in Sharepoint 2007 site?


I would like to know below things

(1) How to create MySite for one specific member with other or administrator's access?

(2) Scenario : Administrator have created one SP2007 site. now Administrator have created one calendar (Sample calendar). Administrator have added some entries in calendar. now one user entered in portal site ansd view the calendar and he click on MySite menu. so this sample calendar entries should enter in that user's mysite calendar. How this can be achieved?

SharePoint Designer: insert custom list not working anymore



Suddenly sharepoint designer decided today that it doesn't want to insert a custom list form anymore...
To be more specific, it doesn't work anymore in a site that uses the Microsoft budgeting and tracking template. In a website that uses an out of the box template, it still works.

It did work before, because I did it in other websites using the same template (it's broken there as well now).

Why oh why does SharePoint refuse to do this now?
I searched google and here on the forums, but all I could find was some issues after installing SP1, but we did that already long time ago and it was still working after that. I checked with our infrastructure guys and they didn't install new updates they say.

I also tried the solutions listed here: http://blogs.msdn.com/spdsupport/archive/2008/07/03/how-to-fix-custom-list-forms-will-not-insert-or-show-up-on-the-design-surface-of-sharepoint-designer.aspx
But they don't fix the problem.

So my problem is, I can go to Insert > SharePoint Controls > Custom List Form
I pick my list, content type and form type, I hit OK and... nothing happens.

Sharepoint 2007 - Wiki site - New Pages Not Inheriting Custom Master Page


I am working on a SP site (MOSS not WSS) which is heavily customised away from the OOTB layout. I need to create a Wiki site, which was going well - I've created a master page which displays the miniconsole (this was not visible with our customised layout), and made it the default master page for the site. This has been applied to the two standard pages that come with the Wiki site, however when a new page is created, it seems to inherit the default.master, rather than my custom master page - thus not showing the miniconsole.

When I have created a new page, I am able to use SharePoint Designer to attach my custom master page to it, which works perfectly, however this will not be a viable option going forward as end-users create their new wiki pages.

How can I get the new pages to inherit my master page when they are created?

Custom Editform.aspx crashes Sharepoint Designer

Hi there,

I've recently designed a sharepoint list and customised newform.aspx and editform.aspx. I made copies of the originals then customised the copies.
On both forms I simply:

* Closed original List Form web part
* Added Custom List Form
* Added some section breaks (<tr>) to the form to break it into sections
* Added a new css style to change the background colour on the section breaks (table rows)

Now NewForm.aspx works fine. However after making above changes in EditForm.aspx, I saved it. However whenever I try to reopen EditForm.aspx in Sharepoint Designer (SD), SD crashes! I can only open it in Text view. The error details reported by SD are:

Problem with SharePoint Designer 2007 and Custom List Forms


I created several forms (Create/Edit/View) for a SharePoint list, using Custom List Forms.  I'm using Content Types in the list to ensure that each item only has the necessary fields.  When I created the ASPX forms, and inserted the Custom List Forms, I selected the correct Content Type, and I got the right fields inserted in the form.

Now, for some reason I can't identify, every time I create a new form, and insert a Custom List Form, SPD is bringing ALL fields from the list, instead of just bringing the fields included in the selected Content Type.

I have tried many different things to solve the problem, including creating new lists/content types/forms, etc. but SPD is doing the same thing all the time.

Can somebody tell me what may have gone wrong in SPD or MOSS?


create new custom list form in sharepoint designer and edit in browser

hi, i have created a new list using sharepoint designer 2007. now i inserted a custom list form to modify some field and add new ones. when i finished i will tight my new custom list to the custom form. what i want to know is. i see the status field in my new form. and i only want the status field to appear in the edit form for the one that has the permission to edit the status. then i tought of open the list in my browser and go to the list settings. but what i notice is i dont see my fields i have modified in sharepiont designer in the columns section i only see the ones from the existing list. my question is how can i hide the status field in the new item form that it only show in the edit form. and how do i get my new form in the column section so the end user can add more fields if they want without using sharepointdesigner thnx

Connecting a Sharepoint Custom list with an external Data-source

Hi I am planning to connect a Sharepoint Custom list with an external Data-source. External DB will be in Access 2007 format. More Information: I need a solution that we can connect our sharepoint list (one-way) to online db in a way that new  information is directly updated in the sharepoint list, whilst other info changed in sharepoint list  is not synced back to original value. Best way to display data of a single column from a Sharepoint Custom List

I'm trying to create pages that will automatically populate with data pulled from a sharepoint list (like title, department, contact info, etc.).   I'm using publishing pages. What would be the easiest way to do this, and how would I specify which data to pull from the list? For example, the page would be set up like this: [Title:biology] [Department:biology] [Contact Info:biology]   and when the page loads, it would look like this: Biology Lab Biology Department 123-456-7890   I want it to just pull the data -- I don't want a list view or anything like that.  I need this page to look pretty, and I need the each column's data to show up in a very specific place. How could I make pages that would do that?

Adding a custom control to the SharePoint 2010 Team Site Wiki Page Template ( wkpstd.aspx ) programm

Topic This is maybe my last post about the Team Site Wiki Page customization with the aim of exceeding its limitations. This time we are going to customize the unique template ( wkpstd.aspx) by replacing the control that renders the editable content by a custom one. In this post example, we will take advantage of the use of this custom control to render not editable additional contents, for instance, a header and a footer that could be the same for a specific Wiki Page Library. Of course, we are not going to really customize the template, but we are going to use a delegate control to replace the control at runtime. Here are the screen shots of the result: We can see a non editable Header and Footer on the Team Site Wiki Page In edit mode these additional contents are not rendered, but we can add new content as usual And of course, after having saved the page, the new content is rendered wtih the non editable Header and Footer. user role on sharepoint custom list

hi, can i set up a user role for a custom list form in sharepoint services 3 i want to use the "submit new absence" form. but i need to modify the form in a way that when a user open the form it fills the user his name or login name in the fields. and that the approver or "assigned to field" also is filled with the approvers name. i think i need to use a query for that, but how can i apply it to the fields of the absence list form

SPCalendarView in sharepoint 2010 placed on custom aspx form does not respond to any actions

Hello everybody! We are facing strange problem when using SPCalendarView  in custom aspx form. Calendar does not cause any postback when clicking on any of its buttons. We have have used script fix (step 4) from this microsoft walkthrough and our calendar started to partially work, but it was throwing javascript exceptions in new inserted function. After function fix (semicollon missing), calendar stopped working again... Does anybody have any idea what can be wrong?
