Active Meeting Workspaces in recurring meetings

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 17, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Hi Geeks, Version : Sharepoint server 2007   As a part of meeting workspace customization, I am interested in retrieving all the meeting dates in a recurring meeting. I have checked the option of looking in to the “Meeting Series” list specifying SpecialInstance as “AllbutSeries” as well as “AllwithSeries”; these return only meeting occurrences that have been activated in the workspace. The roadblock is that, it seems that only if the datelink of a particular recurring meeting is clicked, the meeting workspace gets activated and in the process the “Meeting Series” gets the entry (This is just an observation, I may be mistaken too). Now, my requirements is to display all the recurring meeting dates in a different usercontrol. I may not be able wait until someone clicks to activate the workspace. Kindly suggest from where this information can be taken or an approach to activate the  meeting workspaces once created.     Thanks in advance, Abi.

SharePoint 2007 Calendar - add an event to a recurring meeting workspace

Hello all,

I was wondering if someone can answer this problem I am having.

Simple Question: Are you able to add an additional event into a recurring event which is linked to a meeting workspace?

Long version:

I create an event in a calendar with the recurrence of every monday for the month. (4 dates lets say)  We have a special meeting to add to the meeting workspace, so I add an additional event in the calendar and try to add this date (15th lets say) to that previous meeting workspace series.

My problem is that the ability to add the new date (15th) to the series doesn't show me any options to add to that previous meeting workspace, I can only create a new meeting workspace.

My colleague who has used SharePoint 2003 at another workplace is 100% sure she could do this, however I am at a loss where SharePoint 2007 allows this functionality.

In a new calendar, I tested this theory by creating 3 events with recurring dates and creating an associated meeting workspace with each of them.  Not once did I get the option to add the event to another meeting workspace.  I added an event with no recurrence with an associated meeting workspace, the very next event could add to that meeting workspace which is what I want except to a recurring meeting workspace.

From my analysis, any event that has a recurring series

Problem With Libraries in Meeting Workspaces

I am having a very frustrating issue with any type of libraries that are created or used within a meeting workspace.

For some reason, SharePoint is adding a folder, and naming it the number 1 when I try to create a slide library or document library within a meeting workspace. This wouldnt really be that big of a deal, except that when I upload files, it puts them in the location without the 1, so they appear almost invisible unless you go through explorer view to see them.

Please let me know what other information anyone might need to give me a clue as to where to get started with this, it's really frustrating.

Meeting workspace: How to show data from all meetings based on custom view

I've got a meeting workspace in a MOOS2007 site. The workspace contains a Task list. It's not enabled with "Series Items".

I'd like to add an additional page to the meeting workspace and show incomplete tasks from all meetings. I can create a separate view for this tasks list that will show incomplete tasks. However, it only shows data for the meeting date that is selected. Is there anyway I can get this view to show filtered data from "All Meetings"?

Please advise. Thanks,

Can Outlook Web App 2010's responses to show up in SharePoint 2010 Meeting Workspaces.

We have been unsuccessful in getting Outlook Web App 2010's responses to show up in SharePoint 2010 Meeting Workspaces.

Is this even possible?

SharePoint Document Workspaces for Developers

Office 2003 is being released this month, and a cast of supporting applications is already available. One of these is Windows SharePoint Services 2.0, the free team add-on for Windows Server 2003. If you're not familiar with SharePoint Services basics, take a look at What Developers Need to Know About Windows SharePoint Services. In this article, I'm going to drill into one key place where SharePoint and Office 2003 overlap: document workspaces

Automatically redirect to HTTPS and check if SSL is active

I've set in the web.config:

    <!-- User Authentication -->
    <authentication mode="Forms">
      <forms loginUrl="~/Page/View/Content/Login.aspx" timeout="2880" requireSSL="true" />

This works fine. If there is no ssl connection, the login form doesn't continue. But I would like to check if ssl is active (in codebehind) and, if it's possible, to automatically the user to the https page if he's currently on http. (I could do this job by manually redirect with page.response("https://url.../login.aspx"); but this is not really generic. For example if the webapp is moved to another domain it doesn't work anymore... I'm looking for something like: FormsAuthentication.RedirectWithSSL(); or so... :D)

How to set SearchRoot Path in Active Directory in this scenario

How to set SearchRoot Path in Active Directory in this scenario:

Functionality: We have scenario that 1st hit one LDAP server with some 'fixed user name' &' fixed password ' and filter data with specific User name(which given by user) getting 'User dn'.

After that we hit Next LDAP server based on the 'User dn' getting from 1st server.

(So, in my case 1st LDAP server works like as Load balancing server but functionalitywise it is different)

active directory exception unusual behaviour

i have a small problem

the method is always throwing an exception
"searcher.FindAll()' threw an exception of type 'System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException' System.DirectoryServices.SearchResultCollection

Active Directory and .NET: paging the search result

Hi everybody!

I have a question about Active Directory in .NET
For my project I need to fetch results from Active Directory search page by page, because later I would need to bind it to the pageable DataGrid.

I tried to use .NET library DirectoryServices for that, but paging provided by this library is transparent to the user and is used only to increase the efficiency of searching, when results are too big. I.e. I cannot tell the DirectorySearcher to give me first page, then the next or previous page, it returns me all resulting pages in one bundle.

However, what I need is to explicitely get page after page directly from the AD searcher and to be able to go at least one page forward or backward.

The solution with copying all results to the DataBase and then do the paging is not accepeted by the clent, since it is too inefficient. And since it's a Web app, I cannot keep results in memory either.

I found some hints about COM Interface, but I could not find good and detailed examples or explanations. I aslo found this line of code: DirectoryServices.Interop.IDirectorySearch.ExecuteSearch(), but I don't know which libraries should i add to be able to compile this code.

If somebody could help me out with that problem, any suggestion is welcome, 'cause this issue is eating me alive :)

Thank you!

Getting list of users reporting from specific Manager from Active Directory

Dear All,

I am have requirement like displaying all the user information reporting to specific manager from Active Directory.

Please help me regarding this.

List Users from Active Directory

When i try to List the users from Active directory, i get this exception.

Error while processing.System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80072020): An operations error occurred at System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry.Bind(Boolean throwIfFail) at System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry.Bind() at System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry.get_AdsObject() at System.DirectoryServices.DirectorySearcher.FindAll(Boolean findMoreThanOne) at System.DirectoryServices.DirectorySearcher.FindAll()

The code i used is :

DirectoryEntry de = new DirectoryEntry(_path);DirectorySearcher deSearch = new DirectorySearcher();

deSearch.SearchRoot =de;

deSearch.Filter = "(&(objectClass=user) (cn=" + UserName +"))";

SearchResultCollection results = deSearch.FindAll();

 But the DirectoyEntry method is getting validated if i use the overloaded method : DirectoryEntry(_path, domainAndUsername, password);

Please advice me.

AD FS 2.0 in Identity Solutions: Using Active Directory Federation Services 2.0 in Identity Solution

This article explains how you can use Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) 2.0 to claims-enable Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services and browser-based applications. The focus is on the token issuance functionality in AD FS 2.0. You'll find out how to use AD FS 2.0 as an identity provider; set up an AD FS 2.0 security token service (STS) to interact with WCF; federate AD FS 2.0 with your custom STS or another AD FS 2.0; enable Web single sign-on and federation with WS-Federation and SAML 2.0 protocols; and externalize authentication logic through Visual Studio. You'll come away appreciating how AD FS 2.0 and Windows Identity Foundation make programming identity solutions in Windows less of a chore.
