This can't be right. Friday I tried to install some Windows updates including ‘Security Update for …Windows Server 2008 for x64-based Systems (KB2416473)’
on both my host Server 2008 box and on a VM instance of Server 2008 running on the same physical box. An important SQL Server 2008 instance lives on that VM.
The above mentioned update failed on both the host and the VM, but a system shutdown and reboot were required for both OS’s anyway. When SQL Server started up
again on the VM, the *.MDF file size for 2 (out of maybe 15 total) databases had been reduced to 0KB. Additionally, 1 of accompanying *.LDF files was now also 0KB in size, while the other *.LDF file was probably its normal size of 2.9GB. All the other databases
and log files, including Master.mdf, seem to be okay.
I’m new to SQL Server and have a couple of questions of cours
I'm trying to upgrade to .NET 4 and MVC 3.
When trying to compile my project, I get the error:
The type or namespace name 'Routing' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Web' (are you missing an assembly reference?)
I do have the System.Web.Routing in my references for the project.
BUT - when I try to view System.Web.Routing in the OBJECT BROWSER, nothing is inside! The System.Web.Routing namespace is not in there - the entire thing is empty! Could it that the dll is corrupted? I tried to reinstall the .NET 4 and MVC 3 stuff, but its still empty!
The dll is coming from here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\.NETFramework\v4.0\System.Web.Routing.dll
and the runti

I have a requirement to import the profile properties from a text file in sFTP to update the MOSS Profile Database. The objective is to create a single repository for the Staff Directory in MOSS.
Can I use BDC to connect and update the Profile database?
What is the alternate approach?
the app I am working with is made up of three nested master pages that have the following design:
The first master page ha only realize the HEADER, BODY and FOOTER divs.
The second one specialize the Body content placeholder and divide it in three more layers: NAVIGATOR, PAGE TITLE, BODY CONTENT.
The final layer specialize the BODY CONTENT in PAGE CONTENT and ACTIONS.
In one of my content pages I have (inside the PAGE CONTENT area)
The PopupModalExtender can be either triggered from inside the gridView and also from a series of LinkButtons that are in the ACTIONS area.
The problem is that when the PopupModalExtender shows the FOOTER and the ACTIONS areas are not dimmed from the style I apply as background to the modal popup. An example of what I am trying to explain can be viewed in the following screenshot.
Why this is going to happen? Has anybody any suggestion on how to solve this problem?
Thanks a lot
I have an update panel that surrounds a wizard control which I use in conjunction with a update progress control. Now my update progress control works perfectly, with my animated gif and div tag that lays over my wizard control when the user goes from step to step. However, there is a problem that I am struggling to solve. A number of my steps use controls like list boxes, and when the update progress control fires, the list control is not laying underneath my div an animated gif no matter how high a make my css z-index on the div.
Does anyone have a way of solving this?
