adding onload event from code behind for Google Maps

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 17, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
Im working with Google maps start turoail: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/tutorial.html#HelloWorldAs you can see there's a line: <body onload="initialize()">Now since, I want to have Google Maps on page A.aspx within a masterpage main.master, I dont have the <body> tag available to me in the A.aspx page.I preferably DONT want to have the body tag as runat="server", since Google Maps is not relevant for all pages and I dont like a server control when its not needed as they slow things down (even a bit).I tried this in A.aspx.vb, but it didnt work:Dim javaScript As New StringBuilder        javaScript.Append("<script type='text/javascript'>")        javaScript.Append("window.document.body.onload = initialize();")        javaScript.Append("</script>")        Me.Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Me.GetType(), "BodyLoadUnloadScript", javaScript.ToString())How can I add the onload event from code behind?

Creating Event Handler in Code behind

Hi, so I have a control that is created in the code behind and generates fine but I can't figure out how to create an event handler for it.  I've found plenty of examples for it in C sharp, but none of them seem to apply to VB.  What I want to do is essentially this:

myDropDownList.SelectedIndexChanged = "Event to do here"

but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Image gallery with EXIF and Google maps?

I am trying to put together an image gallery display. I am guessing it will need to be a customer control but I am not sure.  So I figured I would ask on the best way to approach this. When the gallery is loaded I want to have one image displayed with thumbs underneath. On the right side I would like to display EXIF data and underneath that a small google map if there is geolocation tagged with the picture. I figure I will probably need to store the gallery info in a database with caption and description.  Maybe even searchable tags if I get cheeky later.

So should I be using an ajax gallery to display the images and if so how to pass the EXIF and geolocation to the other controls? Or do i pull in all the info into some sort of dataset and then parse it out to a custom control.  I am still fairly new to ASP but I have a fairly good understanding.  Should be an intersting project if nothing else.  Any thoughts.

IFrame onload event

The code below I am having problems with. I have a page with multiple views. When the 2nd view loads up I want an animated gif to appear untill the pages loads up in the iFrame.

In the onload event inside the iframe I try to call a javascript function. I get the following error when I try to call the javascript function:

'ASP.applications_onlinebillpay_payment_aspx' does not contain a definition for 'hideLoading' and no extension method 'hideLoading' accepting a first argument of type 'ASP.applications_onlinebillpay_payment_aspx' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

If I take out the runat="server" part it will work but I need to assign the src of the iframe in my c# code.

The code is:

<asp:View ID="View2" runat="server">
         <script type="text/javascript">
            function hideLoading() {

Adding client event handlers to an ASP.NET controls programmatically

I want to add client event handlers to ASP.NET controls (For example: GridView/Button ) programmatically to ASP.NET.

I am aware of "onclick" event handler, so my code would be

GridView1.Attributes.Add("onclick", "JSGridViewFunction()");

Button1.Attributes.Add("onclick", "JSButtonFunction()");

I want to know what are all the event handlers that are available for (or that can be added to)  ASP.NET controls.

For example, I want to add "onsort" event handler to ASP.NET GridView control.

But the following code fails

GridView1.Attributes.Add("onsort", "JSGridViewFunction()");

Please help.

.net 3.5 in conjunction with CRM 4.0 email router adding code to subject line of emails causing spam

We use CRM 4.0, which is using .net framework 3.5 SP 1.  Emails sent out of CRM go through and email router and the subject line of these emails is getting "=?us-ascii?Q? added to the beginning of the subject line and "?= added to the end of the subject line. This is causing a large amount of our emails getting spammed. I was told by the CRM support that this is an issue with .net 3.5 and won't be fixed until .net 4.0, which CRM won't support for another year.  Is there not a .net 3.5 patch that can address this?

Infopath Changed Event code triggering in preview but not in web filler.

Hi there, I've written some code for a changed event hookup on a field in infopath 2010. The form is for submission to a sharepoint 2010 forms library. What the code does is fill in a specific value into a field depending on the selected value from a combo-box elsewhere on the form. When i preview this in Infopath 2010 it works perfectly but when i fill out the form through the web interface it simply does nothing. I've got another piece of code which executes on load and this works perfectly in both the preview and the web filler. What it does is just set the value of a field when the form loads. Here is the code, could someone tell me what i'm doing wrong? public void InternalStartup() { EventManager.XmlEvents["/my:myFields/my:service_level"].Changed += new XmlChangedEventHandler(service_level_Changed); EventManager.FormEvents.Loading += new LoadingEventHandler(FormEvents_Loading); } public void service_level_Changed(object sender, XmlEventArgs e) { // Write your code here to change the main data source. XPathNavigator xroot = MainDataSource.CreateNavigator(); XPathNavigator serviceLevel = xroot.SelectSingleNode("/my:myFields/my:service_level",NamespaceManager); XPathNavigator xest = xroot.SelectSingleNode("/my:myFields/my:est_cost", NamespaceManager); switch (serviceLevel.Value)

Adding source redirect code to end of a URL which used a dynamic data value

I'm trying to add some source redirect code to the end of a URL in a Data Form Web Part on a simple SharePoint aspx page. This is the basic url: /itservices/helpdesk/Lists/Service%20Requests/DispForm.aspx?ID={@ID} However I want to add a source redirect to the end of the URL so that it returns to a particular page rather than the list's default page. I have tried all of the following: /itservices/helpdesk/Lists/Service%20Requests/DispForm.aspx?ID={@ID}&source=/itservices/Pages/MyOverview.aspx That causes an error in the web part stating "This Web Part does not have a valid XSLT stylesheet: Error; A semi colon character was expected". I tried replacing the ampersand with the URL encoded character: /itservices/helpdesk/Lists/Service%20Requests/DispForm.aspx?ID={@ID}%26source=/itservices/Pages/MyOverview.aspx But when opening from this URL the form contains no data. What am I missing or can this not be done? Thanks.

Google Maps Tutorial

Because it's best to learn from examples, here is a complete listing of all the functionalities GoogleMaps.Subgurim.NET offers .

Each example is made up of an explanation of the element, a map example, and the code corresponding to that example.

Adding a custom form to List's FormCollection in code

Hello, In a site within a site collection, using SharePoint Designer 2010 we have created custom Display, Edit and View forms and assigned them to the Item content type of a custom list as it's default forms. When looking at the Forms property of the list, I can see all six forms listed: the three original forms (DispForm.aspx, EditForm.aspx, NewForm.aspx) and the three custom forms (displayifs.aspx, editifs.aspx, newifs.aspx). Each site in the site collection has this custom list and I want to add these three custom forms to the custom list in each site in the collection as the default forms for items. In code I have tried copying the files from the Item subfolder of the first custom list to the Item subfolder in each list in each site, and then setting the properties for the Item content type's default forms to point to these new files (e.g DisplayFormUrl = "~list/Item/displayifs.aspx"; EditFormUrl = "~list/Item/editifs.aspx"; NewFormUrl = "~list/Item/newifs.aspx";) and I have also copied the fourth file template.asxn to this folder in each list. However, I have not found how to add these new files to the Forms property of the list iteself, as this property is read-only. It still only contains the three default forms. Is this possible to do in code? When I try to open the Display form or Edit form in

How to implement handle externl event activity by my code?...

As a programmer, I write some code to practice wwf, and I have implemented the **call external activity** by using reflection. 1. Firstly, define a xml document that contain a plugin detail: <xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" > 2.Secondly, call the external method by reflection in some codes: Assembly assembly = Assembly.Load(assemblyName); Type myInterface = assembly.GetType(interfaceName); Type myClassType = null; foreach (Type t in assembly.GetTypes()) { if (myInterface.IsAssignableFrom(t) && t.IsClass) { myClassType = t; break; } } MethodInfo methodInfo = myClassType.GetMethod(method); object instance = Activator.CreateInstance(myClassType); object result = methodInfo.Invoke(instance, userData); But when I implement the handle external event pattern, i can't finish it by using reflection directly, then i want to hookup delegate, still faild. It seems that the mothod **addService(service)** do somethings inside the wf side. Could I still implement it by use reflection? Actualy, I don't know the detail about when the host client raise an event, how wf side can recieve this action. it seemed that this is the key for my question... Thanks ligong

Adding script in code behind

Hi, I am trying to add a javascript code from onLoad method. I use StringBuilder to generate the code and have to add some dynamic values inside the code.StringBuilder sbScript = new StringBuilder(); sbScript.AppendFormat("document.write('<table border=\"1\"><tr><td width=\"{0}px\">'); ", sWidth); sbScript.Append( "if(document.layers){ "); sbScript.AppendFormat( "document.write('<ilayer id=\"ns4div\" width=\"{0}px\" height=\"{1}px\"> ", sWidth, sHeight); sbScript.AppendFormat( "<layer id=\"ns4div1\" width=\"{0}px\" height=\"{1}px\" onmouseover=\"sspeed=0;\" onmouseout=\"sspeed=restart\"></layer></ilayer>') ", sWidth, sHeight); sbScript.Append( "if(document.getElementById||document.all){ "); sbScript.AppendFormat( "document.write('<div style=\"position:relative;overflow:hidden;width:{0}px;height:{1}px; ", sWidth, sHeight); sbScript.AppendFormat( "clip:rect(0 {0}px {1}px 0); onmouseover=\"sspeed=0;\" onmouseout=\"sspeed=restart\">'); ", sWidth, sHeight); sbScript.Append( "if(gekso==0&&operbr==-1)"); sbScript.AppendFormat( "document.write('<div id=\"iens6div\" style=\&q
