Hover effect implementation

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 17, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
Hi I am trying to get the hover effect in a gridview via jQuery since IE does not support it in CSS directly. However I can't figure out how to get it back to the way grid looked before the gray hover over effect. I am just using the alternate row style = "#FFE4B5" in my C# code behind so when the grid first loads it has a white background with the alternate rows being shown in Moccasin color. After I hover over it via this JQuery:if (event =='mouseover') {$(this).Css("background", "#D3D3D3")}Once mouse moves out all the rows hovered over remain gray colored. Does some one know how to make it go back to the original colors (white background with the alternate rows being Moccasin color) as they were prior to the hover effect, may be I need an else condition above but not sure. Thanks

how do I match the hover effect in the property grid?

I made a custom editor for FontFamily shown below. It works fine, but I notice that the standard value editors in the property grid don't show the combo box until I move the mouse over the grid cell. (There may even be some fade-in animation on it?) How do I modify this code to make the combo box only show up on IsMouseOver and just show it's item template otherwise?

I tried using reflection to find the PropertyValueEditor (and its template) that is used for the default value list in the WF4 property grid, but I couldn't find it. Where is it?

using System.Activities.Presentation.PropertyEditing;
using System.Windows;
using System.Windows.Controls;
using System.Windows.Data;
using System.Windows.Media;

namespace Client.Wpf.PropertyValueEditors
	public class FontFamilyEditor: PropertyValueEditor
		public FontFamilyEditor()
			var comboFact = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(ComboBox));

jQuery Date picker Implementation in ASP.NET

I've posted a wrapper ASP.NET around the jQuery.UI Datepickercontrol. This small client side calendar control is compact, looks nice and is very easy to use and I've added it some time back to my control library.

This is primarily an update for the jQuery.ui version, and so I spend a few hours or so cleaning it up which wasn't as easy as it could have been since the API has changed quite drastically from Marc's original implementation. The biggest changes have to do with the theming integration and the resulting explosion of related resources.

If you want to use this component you can check it out a sample and the code here:

How to keep the hover for Parent menu and set the selected menu item css for child menu item?

I'm using cssfriendly control adapter for menu. My asp.net menu control's datasource is a sitemap file I'm using which contains all the urls.

I have the following questions:

  1. Is there a way to keep the parent menu item hovered while hovering over the respective child menu items?
  2. Is there a way to keep the child menu item selected? I am able to set the css for the parent menu, however I was wondering if the same is possible with the child items.

Please help! Smile

.NET Remoting: Create a Custom Marshaling Implementation Using .NET Remoting and COM Interop

The .NET Framework offers several methods for customizing the presentation of native .NET and COM object types. One such technique, custom marshaling, refers to the notion of specializing object type presentations. There are times, like when a legacy COM component needs to implement a new interface or when you need to make calls across process or machine boundaries, when custom marshaling saves the day. Elements of COM Interop permit the customizing of COM types while .NET Remoting offers the developer the ability to tailor native .NET types. This article examines these techniques.

Rotor: Shared Source CLI Provides Source Code for a FreeBSD Implementation of .NET

With over 9,000 files, and including some 1300 public classes to pore through, the Shared Source CLI can teach you quite a bit about the internal workings of the CLR. But the sheer amount of source code included can make just starting your exploration a monumental task. This article discusses some of the things you can learn from the source code facsimile of the CLR, like how JIT compilation works. It will also help you understand how to control execution along with debugging and loading classes. A walk through the steps involved in setting up the runtime will let you become familiar with the process.

CSS setting not taking effect

When I change the background image listed in a CSS class it does not always show up, rather the old image does, even though the old image file does not exist in the web site. Is there some other place where VWD stores the old image outside of the website?

Implementation of Audit Fields and optimistic concurrency

What is the best way to implement Optimistic concurrency? Also, I have 4 audit columns in every table in my database. They are created date, updated date, created by, updated by. Application should populate these fields. I want to know how to populate created date , and updated date? From where application datetime or database datetime? On save button click, if I have to save data into 4 different tables, then I need to have same datetime in all 4 audit fields correct? What is the best way to implement this? What will be the design?
