Can ASP.NET be used in sync with RDP to create a remote desktop manager ?

Hello all,      I am new to .NET but is in a circumstance were i need to submit a project in .NET ( not necessarily a web application - even a client server one would suffice ). I need this application to be able to : 1. Connect to remote client from my server computer2. See client computer's screen and work on it from my server to fix problems there3. Drag and drop files between my local server's screen and the screen on my computer displaying the remote client's screen4. Should be able to start a chat session ( text/audio) with this remote client's user to help fix him/her the problem5. If i am installing any s/w in the client - then i should get back this control over the client computer even after i do a system restart of the client computer from the serverMy doubt is : 1. Can i build a remote desktop control manager application as described above using .NET be it asp.net/winforms ?2. If so what all technologies do i need to use and which all protocols will i be using ideally - like ASP.NET, ADO, Winforms - RDP, FTP, HTTP etc ?3. If at all feasible - how complex is this project on a level of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest ?I am sorry if i am totally out of place or wrong. I am a novice and is new to .NETThanking you all in advance for your valuable help and suggestions.

Aero Glass Desktop Banner

First, I'm not a developer.  I was wondering if anyone has created or how difficult would it be to create a Desktop Banner that would reside and across the top of the desktop and  that could be used to display the security level of a desktop (ie., Unclassified) and that is persistent.  I was looking for something transparent like the Aero Glass feature where it would not get in the way of maximized windows.  Can some point me in the right direction or give me some advice?  Thanks

How to create a wpf-dialog window with constant height?

Good afternoon. I need to create a dialog wpf-window with the constant height. One can see a window height in wpf-editor, and set this value to MinHeight and MaxHeight properties. Here's a simple XAML-code: <Window x:Class="ClassName" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Height="94" Width="243" MaxHeight="94" MinHeight="94"> <Grid> <Button Content="Button" Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Name="button1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="75" /> <Button Content="Button" Height="23" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="146,32,0,0" Name="button2" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="75" /> </Grid> </Window> However, when running the application, one sees the window has a larger height. What's the bug? Tell me please, how to make a dialog wpf-window with the constant height?

How to create Reponse.Redirect open with new window...c# .net

I am working on a C# .net application in which I need to open a new browser and direct users to it in the event they click on a button or image.

i want to keep the main page and opens a new window browser once the user click the button.

here's my code.

aspx page.

Response.Redirect("newpage.aspx?bg=" + Session["user"].ToString() + "&dc=" + Session["dcode"].ToString());

WPF Custom Window: cannot "unsnap" maximized window with Win7 Aero Snap

I have a WPF application that uses a custom window frame. My problem is that I cannot "unsnap" my maximized window with Aero Snap in Windows 7.

Properties of my window:

  • AllowsTransparency is set to true
  • WindowStyle is set to None
  • ResizeMode is set to CanResizeWithGrip

I handle window drag movement like so:

 sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventArgs e)

I can dock the window to the left, to the right, and to the top, and have it behave like normal windows (expand to fill left half of screen, expand to fill right half of screen, maximized, respectively).

I'm not sure how Aero Snap works, but what I find odd is that normal WPF windows (non-custom windows) work just fine; I can unsnap them if they are maximized without a problem. Why then does applying the above properties to my window break that?

Is it possible I need to do some custom WM message handling to make this work?

What is necessary to create SDF-Files on desktop legally?

I want to write a PC application that prepares a SQL Server Mobile Files (.SDF) and sends it to a PocketPC.

I get this error message:
"SQL Mobile usage is restricted on this platform. To use SQL Mobile, you
must install SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, or the Tablet PC SKU"

If I install "SQL Server 2005 Express" the error message disappears and everything works fine.

Is it allowed to create SDF-Files if "SQL Server 2005 Express" is installed or is it necessary that my customers buy "SQL Server 2005"?

How to Create and Call a Popup Window
