Displaying data from Enhanced Rich Text field

Iam using a custom list, one of the column datatype of the list is Multiple lines of text with type of text to allow as Enhanced Rich Text. Users in my site can copy any type of data and paste in that list coulmn. I need to display the list data in a webpart same as how it is copied. But after querying the list iam getting all the Style tags. How to avoid this.

For example, i copied the following text in the coulmn as below:

One advantage of using the SPGridView control in SharePoint-based solutions is that it has been integrated with the cascading style sheets that are built into Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Also, the SPGridView control is heavily.
But after quering the list while displaying, following is the output iam getting. How to avoid the tags:

Writing to a text file

I have the following  subroutine in an asp.net application class. The subroutine writes data to a text file upon application login.   My question is that if this function was called at the same time by two different  users would it cause any kind of error. Is there a need for a try catch?

 Public Shared Sub writeToLogFile(ByVal UserName  As String)
        Dim strLogMessage As String = String.Empty
        Dim strLogFile As String = System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("~/Log.txt") Dim swLog As StreamWriter
        strLogMessage = DateTime.Now.ToShortDateString().ToString()  " ==> " & UserName

        If Not File.Exists(strLogFile) Then
            swLog = New StreamWriter(strLogFile)
            swLog = File.AppendText(strLogFile)
        End If

The file reached the maximum download limit. Check that the full text of the document can be meaning

I'm facing an issue with the indexing.

I have 1 WFE+Index server+DB server.

Index server is not installed with MS FIlter pack 1.0

When crawling, the there will be document with warning in crawl log:
The file reached the maximum download limit. Check that the full text of the document can be meaningfully crawled.

Documents that with warning are such as doc, ppt, xls, docs, ppts and many others.
However, I view into the successful crawled document, there are doucments with ext doc and ppt.

For large file index, there are MaxGrowthFactor + MaxDownLoadSize required to be added into the index server.

As my understanding is, MS Filter Pack should installed into index server(already did, correct me if i'm wrong).

I looked into the Office SharePoint Seach(CA>Services in farm), if the server is appointed to "Use this server as indexing server", then MS Filter Pack is suppose to be installed into that particular server as well.

At the bottom, there also has another option is "Use all web front end for crawling".

The question here is, IF the option "Use all web front end for crawling" is selected.
Does the WED FRONT END Server required to installed the Ms Filte

Update Profile Database from text file using BDC

I have a requirement to import the profile properties from a text file in sFTP to update the MOSS Profile Database. The objective is to create a single repository for the Staff Directory in MOSS.

Can I use BDC to connect and update the Profile database?

What is the alternate approach?

Mission Impossible? Use Javascript to Disable a Multi-Line Rich Text Field

Hey Community,

Here's a tough one that I have struggled with and so far have not been able to find an answer for - how do you use Javascript to disable a multi-line rich text field.  I have customized a SP Edit form by adding a CEWP.  In the CEWP I have added the Javascript below (only a partial code sample provided) to disable several fields in the form.  The code works fine for single line text fields but it does not work for multi-line rich text fields.  Any suggestions?

<script language="javascript">
//This runs the function when the form first loads

//This locks the fields the users should not modify
function lockFields()
  var theInputTFTitle = getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle("Input","TextField","Title");
  theInputTFTitle.readOnly = true;
  theInputTFTitle.style.color = 'gray';
  //alert(" Value: " + theInputTFTitle.value);//for testing

   var theInputDDLReplyStatus = getTagFromIdentifierAndTitle("select","DropDownChoice","Reply Status");
  theInputDDLReplyStatus.disabled = true;
  //alert(" Value: " + theInputDDLReplyStatus.value);//for testing

  var theInpu

Javascript error on Rich Text Editor of CEWP

Hi all,

I have a problem that is really bugging and I wasn't able to find any workaround all day. I'll try to give as many details as possible:

I'm maintaining several site collections on a single server and this problem occurs only on one of the site collections. However it occurs on all subsites of this collection, it occurs on old pages and newly created pages, even on pages containing only one empty CEWP.

When I'm pressing the button for Rich Text Editor of CEWP I get the following error:

Message: Invalid argument.
Line: 5740
Char: 2
Code: 0
URI: http://www.dyrlaegeankenaevn.dk/_layouts/1030/HtmlEditor.js

I've tracked down the error with IE developer tools and I found that the error pops up in HtmlEditor.js at

function RTE2_GenerateLaunchArguments(parameterArray, webUrl, containerID)

I followed containerID down the stack and it comes from:

Displaying transparent text using TextOut

Hi, I'm currently working on a C# project that displays transparent windows (like splashscreens) using Windows Forms. I've been using a class that allows me to call GDI Win32 functions such as UpdateLayeredWindow(), GetDC(), TextOut()... I can show a transparent PNG, it's ok but when I want to add a transparent text with TextOut it works but doesn't follow the form. In the TextOut function, I've tried to specify the HDC of the current form using e.Graphics.GetHdc() without success... Is there a way I can draw my transparent text so it follows the transparent form ? Here is my code, written within the Form_Paint method (private void Form1_Paint(object sender, PaintEventArgs e)). The HDC for the TextOut method used here is null so it draw within the screen DC. IntPtr Hdc = API.GetDC(IntPtr.Zero); IntPtr memDc = API.CreateCompatibleDC(Hdc); IntPtr hBitmap = IntPtr.Zero; IntPtr oldBitmap = IntPtr.Zero; try { //Display-image Bitmap bmp = new Bitmap(backgroundImage); hBitmap = bmp.GetHbitmap(Color.FromArgb(0)); //Set the fact that background is transparent oldBitmap = API.SelectObject(memDc, hBitmap); //Display-rectangle Size size = bmp.Size; Point pointSource = new Point(0, 0); Point topPos = new Point(this.Left, this.Top); e.Graphics.GetHdc() //Set up blending options API.BLENDFUNCTION blend = new API.BLENDFUNCTION(); blend.BlendOp = API.AC_SRC_O

Deleting Last Line of Text in a text file

Hi, I needed some help on the best way to delete the last line of  text in a text file. I have a subroutine that looks like this, but it is missing some code. Could anyone advise me on this? Dim strLogFile As String = System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("~/Log.txt")         Dim fs As New FileStream(strLogFile, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.ReadWrite, FileShare.None)         Dim swLog As New StreamReader(fs)         Dim array As String()         Dim value As String = swLog.ReadToEnd ''Array that holds the lines of the text file.         array = value.Split(vbCrLf)        ''code for deleting last line: . . .  fs.Close()

Displaying XML in label control using xslt formatting

I am using an XML file as a database and I am using a text box and a button to search for a node within the xml file and display that node on a label control using the format required by the xslt file.  I have created an example to use as the real file is rather big. If I add an xml control to the page and set the documentSource and transformSource to my existing files, it will display the node on the page in the correct format.  If I try and pass the query to the label, it only shows the inner text of the XML tags with no spaces and no formatting as specified in the xslt file. Is there a way to pass the query to a label control and render it using the formatting specified in the xslt file?  In all honesty, it doesn't even have to be a label if I can get the query to render as specified in the xslt file in any way shape or form, I would be happy with that.I feel like I am just one statement away from having it complete but for the life of me can't seem to figure out what it is.  Any help is apprecaited.XML File:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="animal.xslt"?><animals>    <animal name="dog">        <color>brown</color>        <hair>lo

Data loading from text file

Consistently running out of page file memory with full text indexer

Using MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 x64 Standard Edtion on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise, I'm about to full-text index for the first time 1 table and 2 views. The table contains about 250'000 entries with a data space of 180 MB. As soon as I activate the full text indexing, the fdhost.exe task starts to consume slowly but surely all the available page file space (this can be easily watched using the Resource Monitor and the Commit Charge graph on the memory tab). Once all the virtual memory has been consumed, the server becomes unusable since it can't open any new windows any more, and RDP stops working. The machine specs are as follows: 12 GB of RAM 80 GB free on hard disk out of 136 GB 8 CPUs Custom size paging file with sizes between 24 GB - 60 GB (originally, this was system managed size, but then the server ran out of memory sooner) Max SQL server memory set to 6 GB (first 10 GB, then 8 GB) I've set the max fulltext crawl range to 8. During the indexing, the 8 CPUs are bit busy for a while, but not excessively. What is astonishing is that there is almost no use of physical memory during the indexing (I can see an increase from 2 GB to 3 GB which still leaves plenty of RAM available). Does anybody have an idea how I can convince fdhost.exe to consume physical memory and leave the paging memory alone? Or what else can I try?
