Using Conditional Split data Transfer in SSIS 2008

This article uses the Integration Services Conditional Split Data Transformation element to filter and transfer data from a set of flat text files to SQL Server database table. The concept can be easily extended to apply to any other source or destination such as Microsoft Excel. This scenario is useful in creating denormalized database tables in a reporting and analysis situation.

Custom SSIS Data Flow Component Not Showing in Toolbox or GAC

Hello - I have created a very simple data flow component for SSIS (Actually, I am following this example:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=1C2A7DD2-3EC3-4641-9407-A5A337BEA7D3&displaylang=en).  However, when I register the DLL to the GAC, I am unable to find the assembly in C:\Windows\Assembly - even though the GACUTIL says "Assembly Registered Successfully".  Furthermore, after copying the DLL to the PipelineComponents folder for SSIS (C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\DTS\PipelineComponents), it does not show in the "Choose Items . . ." dialog box of SSIS.   I am running SQL Server 2008 Dev edition, Visual Studio 2010 with .NET 4.0, and Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition.  Any assistance/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

C# newbie stuck - trying to access column data in a SharePoint list in an SSIS script task

Hello, I'm sure this is the simplest question but I can't figure it out, even with Google's help. I am trying to stumble through some C# code in an SSIS script task and I am frustrated that I can't figure out how to do the easiest things.  I eventually want to find data in a column, and then use another list as a lookup to replace that value with another where the existing value matches a value in the lookup list.  So, the data in my (multiple choice) column might be "apples; bananas" and in another list I have a row that contains two columns, the first holding the value "Apples" and the second containing "Red Delicious" and my original column should read: "Red Delicious; bananas." But, alas, I can't even figure out how to see the data that is in a column. Here is my code: /*<br/> Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Script Task<br/> Write scripts using Microsoft Visual C# 2008.<br/> The ScriptMain is the entry point class of the script.<br/> */<br/> <br/> using System;<br/> using System.Data;<br/> using Microsoft.SharePoint;<br/> using Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime;<br/> using System.Windows.Forms;<br/> using Microsoft.SharePoint.Utilities;<br/> <br/> namespace ST_08becda4c05c49cd9f30ea76110076cd.csproj<br/> {<br/> [

Data conversion in SSIS

I am creating an SSIS package, My source DB is ORACLE and destination is SQL Server 2005 I am moving the contents of a Table AO in Oracle DB to  Table B in SQL Server2005 A specific Column in  "Renvenue " in AO table is of data type NUMBER  , it contains  decimal values like 1040.334, 19191.33, 454545.22 I have a corresponding column 'Rev" in Table B ( in SQLserver DB) of datatype Numeric(18,2)   I have created a SSIS package using Data source Reader, DataConversion , OLEDB Destination  in the dataflow task Everything is working fine, but I am getting incorrect data for example 1040.334, 19191.33, 454545.22   for these values I am getting 1040.00 , 19191.00 , 454545.00 the decimal values are not getting transferred to the destination table. I tried converting the datatype to Numeric {DT_NUMBERIC] 18 -2   and even declimal(DT_DECIMAL] scale 2 but still not getting the decimal values   Can some one tell me where am I going wrong...

What does strategy exist to deploy SSIS package and my own data flow components into a enterparise s

I created a SSIS package and several data flow componenets for this package.    What does strategy exist to deploy SSIS package and data flow components into a enterparise server?   Thanks in advance.

SSIS multiple data flows accessing the same raw file

I have multiple data flow tasks accessing the same raw file at virtually the same time.  I would like to know if the data flow tasks lock the raw file during read?  Can multiple data flow tasks read the same raw file at the same time.  I'm currently developing with a very small data set, but I would like to know if I should be concerned with the possibility of the data flow tasks competing for access to the same raw file. Thanks.

Set up a validator that compare the value of the current field with an other (using Dynamic Data)

Hi! Most of it is in the title : I'd like have a validator on the DateTime_Edit template for example that allows to compare this field with an other DateTime field. My problem is when I am in the DateTime_Edit template of my "master field" (the one I want to check), how can I access to the other field given the architecture of Dynamic Data FieldTemplates? But perhaps I'm not thinking in a good way on this control. Any advice will be welcome. Thanks Raphaelp

Configurable SSIS data transfer package

I have to create SSIS Pakage for importing data form a sql server to  another. And this SSIS data transfer package has to be configurable at run time for: - Database source connection - Database destination connection - Query to call from the source database - Table to insert in destination database And Also need to call this package from a stored procedure...

Excel Data Source SSIS AcquireConnection failed 0x80004005 unspecified error

Nuances of using Excel data sources with SSIS Your Development Machine Setup Needs Jet Drivers, available along with the default Office install so if you have Excel working fine locally, this is enough. Installing the "Office Data Connectivity Components" (download file name AccessDatabaseEngine.exe) as well as having Office installed corrupts the Jet Driver stack so that SSIS in VS 2008 cannot create the object to read the XLS file. You will see the title error "Unspecified Error" and "80004005" code. Resolution: Uninstall the Jet Engine pack on your development XP machine if you have Office. It will be listed as something like "Microsoft Access Database Engine (2010)". Run Office 200x setup with the Repair option and reboot. Try configuring the task in SSIS and it should be able to read the Sheet names again and columns.  Live Server (32-bit and 64-bit) Deploying your SSIS package to a server without Office 200x means it will not have the Jet Engine drivers to read XLS, XLSX files. You must install the 32-bit Office Data Connectivity Components - Jet Drivers mentioned above found here  (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7554f536-8c28-4598-9b72-ef94e038c891&displaylang=en). There are no 64-bit drivers; therefore regardless of 32 or 64-bit live environments, this step is the same. You shoul

Unable to prepare the SSIS bulk insert for data insertion

The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure. What could be the reason for this? I don't usually have an error.   cherriesh

SQL ServerDestination error - Unable to prepare the SSIS bulk insert for data insertion.

Having searched the forum, this one clearly has form... However beyond assisting those who have fallen at the first hurdle (i.e. forgetting/not knowing that they cannot execute the package remotely to the instance of SQL Server into which they are inserting), the issues raised by others have not been addressed. Thus I am bringing nothing new to the table here - just providing an executive summary of problems which others have run into, written about, but not received answers for.   First the complete error: Description: Unable to prepare the SSIS bulk insert for data insertion.  End Error  Error: 2008-01-15 04:55:27.58     Code: 0xC004701A     Source: <xxx> DTS.Pipeline     Description: component "<xxx> failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202071.  End Error  DTExec: The package execution returned DTSER_FAILURE (1).  Started:  4:53:34 AM  Finished: 5:00:00 AM  Elapsed:  385.384 seconds.  The package execution failed.  The step failed.   Important points It mostly works - It produces no error more than 9 times out of 10. It fails on random dataflows - My package has several dataflows, (mostly) executing concurrently. Where the error occurs it does not do so on the same dataflow each time: on one run it'll fail on dataflow A whilst B,C,D and E succeed, then A-E will all succeed (and continue doing so for the next ten runs thereafter), and

I need to create a script in SSIS which creates a data source that connects to an Access database.

I need to create a script in SSIS which creates a data source that connects to an Access database. The Access database file name needs to be set as a variable as it will change from month to month. I have no idea what I am doing can anybody give me some tips? Mr Shaw

Can not transfer data usisng SSIS

Database Server is SQL2008 with SP1. I created ODBC that connects to one table in the database in the server. It works fine. Then I created a SSIS package that tranfer this table's data into another table using the ODBC. When executing the SSIS , it works fine. No problem transfering data using ODBC via SSIS. Requirement is to use SSIS package in SQL Server job and run it from there. When the SQL job is run , it fails.  Error thrown is Message Executed as user: CORE\svc_prodsql1.
