How show the Visual of WebBrowser on another Window

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 16, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF
Hello, basically my idea is to "duplicate" in realtime(i'd want to watch videos too) the visual of WebBrowser on another Window. I add a WebBrowser control and i use it for web navigation. In realtime, i want to project that navigation on another window (that i move to the secondary monitor). I tried to use VisualBrush setting the WebBrowser as Visual but it show nothing. How can i "duplicate" the visual of WebBrowser control? Is there any way?   P.S. Sorry for my bad english

How to implement Design-Time drag & drop from Custom Visual Studio Tool Window to WPF Designer

Hi, Could someone tell me if it is possible to intercept a design time drop event coming from a custom Visual Studio tool window onto the cider design surface? I am hoping to use the same API's as those used by the Visual Studio 2010 'Data Sources' tool window, which provides drag & drop data-binding between classes and WPF/Silverlight controls. My requirement is to pass a DataObject (used with the WPF DragDrop API) from my custom Visual Studio WPF tool window treeview to my custom WPF control at design time, read the data and do some binding/XAML manipulation of my own. The drag aspect is simple enough but I can't work out how to accept a drop event from anything other than the toolbox. At the moment, when I drag my treenode over the design surface it shows the 'cannot drop here' cursor. If someone could give me some insight into how the 'Data Sources' tool window allows dragging of treenodes to controls I would really appreciate it. It is obviously possible but which API's are used and are they public? Thanks in advance, Paul

Show WPF Window from any application via Com-Interop (OLE) Interface

I have a C# dll library which contains several utilities and WPF Windows.
I need to use these from an unmanaged application (actually written in Delphi 2009).
To do so I added an Ole interface to my dll.
In my initial call I start a thread and create an Application object in it whith its own Dispatcher.
Every time I need to show a WPF Window I do this by Invoking an the Applications thread.
This works so far, but seems to have a bit overhead when I try to open a WPF window for example.
Here is some of my code below:

  public interface IOleBridge
   bool Startup();

   void ShowWindow();

  // [ComSourceInterfaces(typeof(IOleBridgeEvents))]

WPF WebBrowser Control on x64 machines Launches new IE window instead of staying inside of control.

I have a WPF app that uses an embedded WebBrowser control.  I have been using this as a video player (i would have used MediaPlayer, but it doesn't support H.264 in XP)  Anyway, I am using a 3rd party video player to display the h.264 videos, and this has been working fine.

We started testing on 64 bit Windows 7 and now whenever we attempt to play the videos, the WebBrowser launches a separate IE window and plays the video there instead of within my app.

I have googled this bug and have seen hints about handling the NewWindow2 event, but have yet to see a decent example that isn't a total HACK..

Does anybody know a way to stop the WebBrowser control from launching separate IE windows on a 64 bit OS?

Thanks a lot,

Visual Studio WebBrowser control's PrintPreviewDialog generates "VSHost32.exe has stopped working"

I'm getting a problem with a VS 2008 application when I use the WebBrowser control's .ShowPrintPreviewDialog method and either print or close the dialog box.  I'm working on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer and using Visual Studio's default Debug option settings.  The problem happens both when running from the IDE in debug mode and after compiling in x86 mode as a stand-alone.

The control is central to as an otherwise effective report management system, so on btnPrint_Click I assign HTML code to .DocumentText and then call .ShowPrintPreviewDialog, which works fine, other than it does need 2 clicks so it seems both stages have to happen as separate events?

Although when I go to print, the document prints okay, the print preview dialog form closes itself and whole program crashes with the above message.  I've also tried separating those stages to avoid the 2-click issue, but I still get the crash.

If I turn Project>Properties>Debug>"Enable unmanaged code debugging" ON, I get this message instead "Unhandled exception at 0x752c77df (urlmon.dll) in PMPos.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000001."

The control's other print dialog methods work fine.   Is there a solution that I can rely on when distributing the application or am I best abondoning this particular

WPF BUG, Window not show when showintaskbar is set to false when display is turn off automatically

I met a problem regarding to WPF window on windows vista SP2.

I create a window with following properties:

WindowStyle="None" ShowInTaskbar="False" ResizeMode="NoResize" Background="Transparent"

The ShowInTaskbar is set to false, which means the window will not show taskbar button, but you can see it in the taskbarlist using Alt+tab

In my application, when receiving some events, the window will be created and Show(), for example,

window1 wd = new windw1();

wd.topmost = true;

I happen to find in the followin case, the window is not show correctly

My display setting in the power manager is set to turn off display in 1 minute,

After 1 minute, my display turned off, after that, there is a event which triggered the window to show, but after i move the mouse to get the display back, i didn't see the window is showed, instead, when i use Alt+Tab, i can find a window transparent in the taskbarlist with my application icon. It's very strange. after i click "show desktop" for two times, the window show itself.

i googled in the internet, and found it seems that when showtaskbar is set to false, there will be another transparent window created which is the owner for the current window, this explains that why i can see transpa

How to Show / Hide Scrollbars in new 3.5 SP1 Beta WPF WebBrowser Control

I've happily installed the latest Dot Net Framework 3.5 SP1 Beta. I'm using the new WebBrowser control, however I need to be able to hide and show the scroll bars depending on what content I show.

I've spotted this blog by Don Burnett; http://blog.donburnett.com/NewBlog/wpf/using-the-new-wpf-based-web-browser-control-in-net-3-5-sp1/

And there is a snippet of code which shows dependancy properties for the scroll bars..

<WebBrowser Margin="0,49,0,21" x:Name="webBrowser1" Grid.ColumnSpan="3" Source="http://blog.donburnett.com" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" MaxLines="1"/>

However, when I attempt to use this XAML code in my application, Blend reports that the the HorizontalScrollBarVisibility, VerticalScrollBarVisibility

View Call Hierarchy window in Visual Studio 2010

Visual studio 2010 Ultimate is great IDE(Integrated Development Environment) and I am loving more and more whenever I found some thing new. While doing some Code and Review and other stuff with Visual Studio 2010 I have found one of most interesting feature in Visual Studio 2010 called "Called Hierarchy".You can navigate your code better with the Call Hierarchy feature in Visual Studio 2010.

To check out let's Create a sample asp.net MVC application like following .CallHirerchay

After creating a ASP.NET MVC 2 application it will create a basic simple application and we can run it and We have two views like home and about. We will check few code with Call Hirarchy. We can enable Call hierarchy window with two way one from the View->View Call Hierarchy like following or you can also use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+K.

Visual Studio can't resolve static resource in WPF window, even though it works at run time - why?

I have a WPF window and am using the MVVM pattern. I set the view model as a resource for the window as follows...

  ...other stuff removed for clarity...
  <mvvm:DhrTemplatesViewModel x:Key="viewmodel" />

I want to set the window's data context to use the resource, and found that the following XAML works...

<StaticResource ResourceKey="viewmodel"/>

The problem is that I can only do this by typing the XAML manually, Visual Studio doesn't show the resource anywhere. I can go to the window's properties and click the little icon next to the DataContext property, click the "Apply resource" option, but it doesn't show "viewmodel" as a resource, static or dynamic. If I enter the XAML manually and then open the "Apply resource" pop-up window, it has the "viewmodel" underlined as an error, and hovering over it shows a tooltip "cannot resolve resource reference"

However, when I run the application, it works fine, so the resource is being resolved at run time.
