Office SharePoint - Mutual Authentication Failed. The servers password is out of date at the domain

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 16, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
I have a SharePoint Server 2010 site setup with SSL. (https://sitename.com) Whenever someone tries to save an Excel or Word document to the site through Save As or Save To SharePoint they get "Mutual Authentication Failed. The servers password is out of date at the domain controller". The desktop experience feature is installed and the webclient service is running. They also receive certificate is not available and if they wait a little bit or hit OK it will show the directory and not the website like on a regular http site.

SharePoint 2007 - Opening an office document in portal demands authentication

Hi there,

Environemnt:  SharePoint 2007, SQL Server 2005

In order to get into Intranet portal it is required to enter USERNAME, PASSWORD [WINDOWS AUTHENTICATION]. That has been working fine for few years.

Now when the office document is opened it demands authentication, requiring the end user to enter username and pasword again. Can this be reverted? Once the credentials are entered first time to get into Intranet portal it should allow office documents to be opened without demanding authentication?

To simplyfy I would like to avoid the second time authentication while opending office document from SharePoint portal.

Help is appreciated.

Change domain AD + upgrade Sharepoint 2007->2010 = window with a request login/password

New installation of Sharepoint 2010 in Domain_A domain. I added a content database WSS_content2007 from Sharepoint 2007 (from domain Domain_B). I didn't run the command stsadm -migrateuser. New accounts from domain Domain_A were manually added to SharePoint 2010. In table Userinfo on WSS_Content2007 on Sharepoint 2010 are accounts from both domains. Old domain Domain_B was deleted.
Users get a window with a request re-enter your username and password from time to time.
What should I do? Can I delete the account from the domain Domain_B with stsadm command? Should the column tp_title contain unique records for the same user and the same site?

Sharepoint Cross domain authentication

I manage a domain (MyDomain) that is trusted by a domain (TheirDomain) in which there is a Sharepoint site I wish to connect to. The trust in place is one way non transitive (i.e. the TheirDomain trusts MyDomain).

My SPS knowledge is quite limited but from looking around online it seems, in order for the admin in that domain to add individual users from this domain to their SPS site that various changes are required to their SPS instance (involving stsadm commands amoung other things).

In an effort to find the easiest solution, instead of adding each user in MyDomain individually to the SPS server could we have an admin from TheirDomain add a domain security group from MyDomain into a security group in TheirDomain and then allow that security group basic read only access to the SPS server.

Any advice would be appreciated?

The trust relationship between SharePoint 2007 Server and Domain Controller failed after virtual ima

I failed to login to my SharePoint Server 2007 since the virtual image is cloned. The trust relationship between the MOSS and DC failed since the duplication of SID occurred. I tried to unjoin and re-join the Windows Server 2008 but the server just stays at "Applying Computer Setting..." after server reboot.

Thank you for your advice in advance!

SharePoint 2007, Forms Based Authentication and Microsoft Office Protocol Discovery

On a SharePoint 2007 extranet site using FBA the Microsoft Office Protocol Discovery Options request is causing multiple authentication requests that must be closed. The best proposed "solution" I've found is to disable client integration for that zone. Has any other solution been found?

How to authenticate local user usin ldap or non domain authentication

help needed: Ldap User authentication using userDN and password

Is it possible to authenticate a user using userDN and password? If so, then tell me the syntax.So far i have tried to authenticate using username and password from my c# code using directoryentry which takes the parameters like domainname,username and password. But i need to authenticate using Userdn and password.

helped needed: ASP LDAP authentication failed in IE 8

I use the following code to do the user authentication through Active Directory using LDAP.

entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + server, user_name, password);
if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(entry.Name))
EmployeeNetId = entry.Username.Substring(0, 3);

// Retrieve EmployeeId, and Employee Full Name
EmployeeId = -1;

It works for Chrome, Firefox with no problem. But with IE 8, it works sometimes, and failed on some computers. When it failed, I figured that I need to check SSL 2.0 in IE 8 Internet Options.  It's weird because in those computers that IE 8 works, SSL 2.0 is also unchecked.

Am I using some deprecated method? Or How do I specifiy the SSL version options in the LDAP connection?
