Configuring ObjectDataSource not giving me option to select correct TableAdapter

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 16, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
So, I have 3 table adapters in my dataset, and trying to configure the objectDataSource will not give me the option to select the correct table adapter.I set up a temporary website to illustrate what I am talking about, along with pics, not much, just 4 pics.https://sites.google.com/site/configuringobjectdatasource/The first 2 pics are irrelevant but just in case anyone thinking I don't have it set up properly. The other table adapters are working fine, which I have gridviews being populated etc.Anyways, anyone have any idea why it will not give me the option to select aspnet_GetRecordDatesTableAdapter?

TableAdapter wizard not giving me choice for tabular data, also ObjectDataSource config wizard not g

Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me with this problem. First of all, I created my own stored procedure in SQL Server for my aspnetdb database which is :USE [C:\USERS\DAVE\DESKTOP\AUG 19 NEW ONE\APP_DATA\ASPNETDB.MDF] GO CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[aspnet_GetNotifications] ( @UserName nvarchar(256) ) AS SELECT UserName,UserNotification,UserNotificationDate FROM UserNotifications WHERE UserName=@UserNameSo, the procedure gets everything from the UserNotifications table, except the RecordID(primary key) which is not needed for display.Now I have set up my BLL and DAL, and everything is working fine, in my DAL, I have the tableadapter and it is called PersonalRecordEntries.xsd in which I have added queries to it using existing stored procedures. Such as :GetLastRecordEntryDate(@UserName) which returns one value which of course is the last record entry date.InsertRecord(@UserName,@TDEE,@BMI,@FTM) which does not return any values, it only inserts a record.AND LASTLYGetNotifications(@UserName) which is supposed to return UserName, UserNotification and UserNotificationDate ( I just realized I can also get rid of having to return UserName but whatever)Now problem #1 ( never had problem with other queries because they did not return more than one value) is that when I add the query to QueriesTableAdapter in design mode and use existing stored procedure, and go through all t

How to config ObjectDataSource ? TableAdapter not in list

Going to start this thread over so that it makes more sense.

Anyways, my problem is that when trying to configure my ObjectDataSource in design mode, it only gives me 2 options and never gives me the option for the one I need. The other 2 work fine, but for some reason, this 3rd one will not show up in the list.

I have a webpage with pics illustrating how I have it setup and the problem ---------->  https://sites.google.com/site/configuringobjectdatasource/

And I have another webpage with pics illustrating steps I have taken to fix this problem but still nothing   ----->  https://sites.google.com/site/configodspart2/

Could someone tell me what is going on and why it will not show up in my list when I try to configure?

Values in multiselect dropdown not getting selected when Select All option is selected

Values in multiselect dropdown not getting selected when Select All option is selected for a SSRS dropdown.

There are multiple dropdowns on the page. We have one dropdown whose output is being used to populate the second dropdown using a stored procedure. When we check the Select All checkbox on the dropdown then ideally upon page refresh all the values should get selected in the dropdown, but in this case the page refreshes back to the blank dropdown, forcing the user to select the values again. The next dropdown too does not get populated. This makes it impossible to run the report for all the cases by using Select All.

We ran the report on differnet database environments. My current location is Mumbai,India, the report worked fine when we ran it on a Bangalore,india database. This issue occurs when we try running it on a Chicago database server.

I am using SSRS 2005, SQL2005.

If anybody has faced such an issue earlier, please help me out here.  Thank you.

selected option items in (multi-) select box on ASP pages are not highlighted if the select box is d

Dear community,

I've an asp application with vbs using input forms containing select objects with the property "multiple" specified. If the select object is disabled, the selected option items aren't highlighted. This behaviour occurs with IE8 and also with IE9. In earlier versions of IE everything worked fine. You can reproduce that also with a simple HTML page like:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

<Select style='width:200;height=200' disabled multiple>
 <option selected>option1</option>
 <option selected>option3</option>
 <option selected>option5</option>

<Select style='width:200;height=200' multiple>
 <option selected>option1</option>
 <option selected>option3</option>
 <option selected>option5</option>

Is there a workaround for that?

Thanks in advance!

Correct Syntax for a Select statement with a date in VB.net 2008 web developer

What is the correct syntax in VB.net 2008 web developer in SQL to do a WHERE clause where the data is >= to the current date? I can't figure out how you pass now into the SQL statement.

C#: SELECT @@IDENTITY AS 'Identity'. Error:Input string was not in a correct format.

Using VS2005, SQL Server 2005, FormView,C#.

Please Note: I can not use stored proecdeures.

I currently Insert a record in my FormView.

I need to then retrieve the IssueID of the inserted record and use the latest IssueID to insert a record into another table.

MDX Report - "All" member vs "Select All" option

Hi all,

I've come accross a tricky problem and I wonder if anyone found a good solution.

Basically I have an report that uses MDX to access a cube. I have many filters, most of them multivalued.

My parameters in MDX contain the "All" member. Therefore in my drop-down list I have both "Select All" and "All" options, which isn't great. I would like to keep only one.

Now, if I hide the "All" member in the MDX query, and if I select the "Select All" option, it will tick all the different values. Having many hundred of values, the resulting MDX statement is taking ages to run.

Therefore I'm looking at a way of hiding the "Select All" option but I don't see how I can do that.

Is there any way of hiding "Select All", or have anyone found a way of saying to the report " iif all values are selected, then use the All member in MDX (instead of passing each individual value)" ?

I hope that's clear enough (I'll probably ask the question on the MDX forum as well). Any ideas welcome !

correct way to fill a DataTable with a TableAdapter method

I have a dataset with a table adapter that has several queries. I want to execute on of the queries and fill a data table but am having trouble with this operation. Am I invoking my table adapter incorrectly? See line 56. Thanks.

//check to see if there are any nearby properties
//using the "GetNearbyProperties" method in the membersTableAdapter
//create a new DataTable to hold the results
DataTable NearbyProperties = new DataTable();

//declare a new instance of the membersTableAdapter
maineinnsDataset = new App_Code.DataAccessLayer.MaineInnsDataset();
MembersTableAdapter = new App_Code.DataAccessLayer.MaineInnsDatasetTableAdapters.membersTableAdapter();
//run the query and fill the NearbyProperties DataTable
//pass a parameter to the SQL select query (City = @City), use PreviousTown for the value

//any records returned by GetNearbyProperties?
int rows = NearbyProperties.Rows.Count;
if (rows != 0)

How can I provide the user with the option to select or default their time zone when rendering a cal

Dallas-based and Tokyo-based users both have contributor access to a shared site calendar. Tokyo users would like to view their calendar items based on their time zone and Dallas would like to see the calendar items based on Dallas time zone. When a Tokyo user enters an event on the calendar their time, e.g. Sunday 11/28/10 holiday, it shows as a Monday, 11/29/10 holiday. The MOSS 2007 Enterprise w/ WSS 3.0 servers reside in Dallas. What options do we have to render the time zone based on user view or accurately reflect the date of the event for the originating time zone?

when I select to 'set field in current item', the only option available is name

Hi Clayton,

I have published my form and promoted the fields and ticked the appropriate box when publishing, but when I select to 'set field in current item', the only option available is name (For Use In Forms). I would like to be able to set the value of an infopath field from within the SPD workflow workflow. So for instance, when the form is approved, a field is set to approved on the form and a button becomes available.

Thanks in advance

Multi-Select with NULL option?

Using SSRS 2005 I have a detail report that takes three parameters.  Two are date parameters and are not a problem.  I use the third parameter as a lookup for a staff ID.  I have it setup as a multi-value, allowing blanks and pulls from a data set.  This basically works, however sometimes this field is left blank in the database set as NULL.

To also capture the NULL records I have the following in the WHERE clause of the dataset query:

AND (staff.staff_id IN (@staffid) OR staff.staff_id IS NULL)

The trouble with this is that if someone selects a sub set of the staff IDs the records with staff ID = NULL always gets reported too.  I would like to change this so that if you select a specific staff ID only

Configuring Profile Image Export in SharePoint 2010

It's no secret that I am thrilled with the new social features of SharePoint 2010. I am most excited about the new Profile Picture handling. I strongly believe that the more we can show the faces of our colleagues to one another the more connected we will feel. Clearly Microsoft feels that way as witnessed by the many features that make use of the Profile Image like the Activity Feed and Colleagues list
