I moved a site collection (content db) from one domain to another. After the site collection was restored i ran the stsadm -o migrateuser -oldlogin -newlogin. The result was that the login id of the user in the source domain was replaced with the
login in the destination domain.
However the rest of the properties in the User Information List (paricularly interested in the Email) was not updated.
How can i get all the properties in the User Information List with values in the new domain
Thanks in Advance
I want to check whether a user has permissions to a site collection. But i dono how to use SPSite.DoesUserHavePermissions().

I have two site collections on my production server. I need to get all groups of collectionA and add them into collectionB. This can only be done remotely via web service. I have got all the groups from collectionA. But according to the api described
here , adding a group to collectionB needs some other parameters which not returned getting group info.
So how can I add these groups without ownerType and defaultUserLoginName ? Or are they optional parameters?

how can show all permission under a subsite in share point.
I have a requirement in which when user clicks on a check-box the it should remember all the values present in that page.It should remember this value till the user is on the same site collection but once it goes to another site collection the stored
details should get deleted. How do I know that the user is navigating away from one site collection to another and delete the object
Another Q is what would be the best way to store values .Should I use cache/session or anything else?
I setup SQL Server 2005 / SQL Express. All works fine in SQL Server 2005.
I am connecting to a SQL Database from VS 2005, Tools/Connect to Database. I set the Data Source to "Microsoft SQL Server Database File (SqlClient)" (meaning SQL Server Express) and User Instance = True, and Integrated Security = True.
The above is working successfully on all machines except my Laptop. On my Laptop, I am getting this error "user does not have permission to perform this operation". On my Laptop, if I change User Instance = False, it works fine. Also, If I connect to SQL Server 2005 it works fine only if User Instance = False.
I tried all kind of security changes, nothing worked. For example, I setup Everyone as Full Control for the Folder and the MDF File of SQL Server. I gave my user ID as sysadmin role in SQL Server Express. Also, I enabled creating User Instance form SQL Server Express, Nothing is working.
Appreciate your help.
Usage analysis processing is enable for my farm in both Central Administration and in the SSP.
I've checked TImer Job Status and the three timer jobs responsible for doing the log analsis are all running.
I've also checked the log file locations and the log files are being generated.
Yet when I browse the "Site collection usage summary" report (SpUsageSite.aspx) I get the following:
No data is available for this report. Usage analysis might have been enabled only recently, or there might have been insufficient usage to result in any values for the report.
My farm is running 2007 Enterprise SP2 (188.8.131.5221).
Can someone confirm if this issue was fixed with one of the CU's that were issues post-SP2?
Does anyone know if the Site Collection Usage Report includes activity that occurs from Outlook? For example, if a user contributes to a discussion board without ever physically touching the site or if the user just reads list content from Outlook,
is this included?
ANY help at all is greatly appreciated.
In our SharePoint installation we have an SSP which indexes local office sharepoint server sites.ÃÂ However there is a problem, although we can do portal searches which reveal search results it is not able to doÃÂ local searches at the site collection level and as aÃÂ result we are presented with the typical error below.
No results matching your search were found.
I am unsure as to why this strange event is occuring.ÃÂ We do not have the WSS Search component running in the MOSS environment as the SSP service should be able to index and server search queries at the portal and local site collection level.
Any thoughts to this?
I am working on developing a “Create Website Wizard” for SharePoint 2007 that would do the following (I am simplifying a little for the sake of this post):
Take user input as follows:
Category (I, II, III):
The category will be a choice field (radio buttons or a dropdown)
