Custom IP-STS - The trusted login provider did not supply a token accepted by this farm.

Similar to this thread , I am attempting to setup a Trusted Identity Provider for SharePoint 2010.  I have made it past all the errors in that thread to successfully get a token created with custom claims and have them placed in a token and successfully decrypted on the SharePoint side.  However, SharePoint doesn't like my unencrypted token. I have removed the bearer information from the token on the STS side but that didn't do anything.  I also remove the Microsoft.SharePoint.IdentityModel.SPSaml11SecurityTokenHandler and the SPPassiveIssuerNameRegistry, but still get the same error:   Exception information:     Exception type: FaultException     Exception message: The trusted login provider did not supply a token accepted by this farm.   Request information:     Request URL: http://sharepoint2010:777/_trust/default.aspx     Request path: /_trust/default.aspx     User host address: fe80::f1bd:4865:3597:c845/_trust     User:      Is authenticated: False     Authentication Type:      Thread account name: CONTOSO\administrator   Thread information:     Thread ID: 6     Thread account name: CONTOSO\administrator     Is impersonating: False     Stack trace:    at Microsoft.IdentityModel.Protocols.WSTrust.WSTrustClient.Issue(RequestSecurityToken rst, RequestSecurityTokenResponse& rstr)    at Microsoft.IdentityModel.Protocols.WSTrust.WSTrustClient.Issue(RequestS

need a simple login page cus my hosting provider system wont allow me to have more than one database

I dont really write html code too well  but I manged to get my web site developed and deployed using the built in features such as drag n drop, master page and user account authentication that make web developing almost a codeless experience. However; my hosting provider system wont allow me to have more than one database, this causes problems becasue when I developed my web app using vb2010 web developer (asp.net v2) I used the built in web config tool to manage users for my site, now after I deployed to my domain it all worked ok with the exeption of the login page, when I tried to log in the system threw a error message saying "database not found." or a page of "gobble-dee-gook" that says the same thing When I contacted support (my hosting provider) they said i have to create a table of users in my database file via 2008 sql server, thats ok I can do that, but my real problem is I dont know how to write appropriate code to reference the table. So heres my problem:  I just want to have some kind of login page with a couple of txtboxes and a click button that maybe using the VB code behind or html checks the input variables "username" "password" against something that is hard coded into vb a string variable or a constant and then branches to Mainmenu.aspx if successfull. I just need it real simple, no fancy stuff just a login s

ASP.NET 5.0: Multiple logins and login types in default ASP.NET membership provider

What do you think about an ability of having multiple logins and login types to be attached to the same user? Let me explain this by showing how database schema can be re-factored to support this model:Remove [Password], [PasswordSalt] columns from [Users] database tableAdd [Logins] table with one-to-many relationship between [Users] and [Logins] tablesThis will allow one user to have multiple credentials attached to his or her account of different types such as Username&Password, Windows Live ID, Open ID from different providersYou will be able to restrict allowed login types and OpenID providers in web.config So.. do you think it is a good idea to add support of this model into ASP.NET 4.5/5.0 membership service?http://aspnet.codeplex.com/workitem/7149

Hi all, I am using the .net membership provider, and I can get past the membership.validate user ok and into my secure page.   The problem I have is that when I reach the secured page, I have a login status control which isn't changing from login to logout.   Below is my login code:If Membership.ValidateUser(txtUsername.Text, txtPassword.Text) Then Response.Redirect("/auth/Default.aspx") If chkRememberMe.Checked Then FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(txtUsername.Text, True) Else FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(txtUsername.Text, False) End If Else lblLoginStatus.Text = "Oops! Login not found!" End If    Thanks in advance.

Login failed for user: Reason:Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure err

Hi,

I have installed a named instance of SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit. The os is running as a VM ware virtual machine.

I have created an AD security group for database engine sys admins on that machine. I added my user to that group.So for example;

domainname\machinename_SQL_DBE_SysADmins is a user with SysAdmin server role permissions. User domainname\MichaelEFF is a member of this group.

When I log onto the machine as this user and run the management studio with run as administrator I cannot log into the database engine. The log shows the error:

Login failed for user: Reason:Token-based server access validation failed with an infrastructure error

I've read many posts where the MVP says that the UAC is not passing the group membership. Is this the case? If so then how will role based access ever be possible with windows authentication? How can this be resolved?

Thanks!

Michael

I would appreciate help with the following issue:

I have created a local group in our SQL 2008 server and added two Windows user accounts "DOMAIN\UserName"  I  then added the local group to the database and granted read only access.

The users are trying to link tables using MS Access using and ODBC connection and getting the following error.

Users are not system administrators.

Login controls and custom membership provider

I am working on implementing a custom membership provider that works against an existing schema in my database and have a few thoughts/question.

The login control will automatically call the ValidateUser method of the membership provider, so no matter how I implement the provider the only thing the login control cares about the bool value returned by this method.  What I am confused about is there could be numerous reasons why a login attempt failed; user is locked out, too many tries in a period of time, etc.  There is no way that I see to convey that to the control so it could display the proper message.  Other properties of the membership provider such as PasswordStrengthRegularExpression have absolutely no effect on the login control as well (out of the box), I would have hoped that it would automatically somehow translate into regular expression validators, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  So it seems that I need to initialize the login control properties with these settings out of the provider configuration if I want them to take on the control itself.

If the only thing that the Login control does out of the box (without manually handling events and doing the initialization as described above) is call the ValidateUser method on the membership provider, I see no way to convey back to the Login control why the validation

Login failed for user (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)

Hello
I have a dedicated server, which runs windows server 2003 web edition. I access the server using remote desktop. I have installed sqlserver express 2005 on the server, along with management studio express. I have problem running the sql script that would install the database. It says that remote connection is disabled by default on sql express 2005. So this is what I did ( as suggested by this article: http://www.datamasker.com/SSE2005_NetworkCfg.htm):
Enable the TCP/IP protocol using the Surface Area Configuration Utility
Make sure the TCP/IP protocol is enabled in the SQL Server Configuration Utility
Make sure the SQL Server browser is started.
Make sure SQL Server and SQL Server Browser are exempted by the firewall on the server machine. sqlservr.exe and sqlbrowser.exe as an exception in the windows firewall

Still no success. Reading various articles on internet, a few suggested i should grant access to certain user by running the following command
osql -E -S %SERVER%\%INSTANCE% -Q "sp_grantlogin 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'"

The problem is that i keep getting the error login failed, even when i try to connect to the sqlserver using management studio. When I use remote desktop it logins as administrator.
Can someone please

MySites using Trusted Identity Provider

Planning on creating an Services Application Farm to host User Profile Service (UPS) and other services /w MySites, but how to configure MySites to use an IP-STS.

Looking at a current SharePoint 2010 installation the Authentication Type only has the radio button for Windows selected, and the others are gray-out on the /_admin/Authentication.aspx page, so it appears this Web Application (hosting MySites) Membership Provider will not allow conversion to claims mode.

Is this even a supported configuration?

Membership Provider - Login fails after change in database name

Hi Experts,

I am in the process of deploying an website developed in ASPNet 2.0 and using the login control and membership provider features. The site was deployed fine and was working perfectly till I changed the database name and user name to access the database. I changed the accordingly in the web.config to point to the new database. Everyting is working file except when the user tries to login into the website.

The error log says that login failed because it is trying to open the old database.

Any idea how I can solve the issue? Thanks for your help.
