Cannot create Team Foundation Server project: report server not initialized.

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 16, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
(TFS 2008, SQL 2005, SharePoint 2007) OK.  So the Report Server isn't initialized.  I get that. I open Report Configuration and Initialization is grayed out.  I look at SharePoint Integration and it tells me to create a database that can be integrated with SharePoint.  No problem. Go to Database Connection and try to Upgrade - can't do that unless I create a new database.  Select Change...it tells me it would be happy to change out of native mode but will have to create a new database....great, since that's what I want to do anyway.  Yes.  Using Current User credentials (signed on as domain administrator) I enter a db name check the sharepoint integration box and hit OK.....I have a new database in SharePoint integrated mode.  SharePoint Integration is green BUT Initialization is still grayed out and I still can't create a new TFS project. What do I do now????

Trouble With Team Foundation Server/Visual Studio 2010

Hi At work we are 2 guys on the same project. We both program in visual studio 2010. The other guy complains that he don't see my changes. I know this dude have already executed "Get Latest Version", despite that he don't get my changes. Some more information that may be relevant:Each time I've done some changes to the source code on my local computer, when I run the code breakpoints are not triggered. I get a message saying something about mismatch between different version of the source (or something like that, weeks sinece I saw that message). It's a while since I saw that message becasue I've found a work-around: Each time I've done changes tothe source code I do this:- Clean Solution- Rebuild (Release)- Rebuild (Debug) When I've done that I can see my own changes.. But the other guy have trouble with seeing my changes. I'm not sure how to fix it so that he see my changes. I checkin regulary so my changes should be available on the Team Foundation Server. Any help on this would be very helpful

Team Foundation Server and WSS 3.0 SharePoint Service Search not visible

I am having issues with setting up SharePoint Search service on the TFS 2008 server WSS 3.0. The Windows SharePoint Service Search service doesn't appear in Central Administration>Operations>Services on Server page. Only the Central Administration, Windows SharePoint Services Incoming E-Mail, and Windows SharePoint Services Web Application appear. I have Windows SharePoint Service Search running through Services in Windows and still it doesn't appear on the page to configure it. The service account that this service running under has db_reader role access to the WSS_Content database and is a db_owner for the WSS_AdminContent and WSS_Config database as well as for the WSS_Search database. I have executed iisreset and even rebooted the server to no avail. The installation/set up of TFS was done prior to me join the team. It was a default set up with dual servers. The Event Logs show nothing out of the ordinary to help me troubleshoot the issue. Does anyone have any other suggestions I should try or other things I should be looking for? Thank you in advance, WillWill Piedmont

Problem create a web application on SharePoint 2007 (Project Server 2007)

I installed a Project Server 2007 in a 3 server structure (all Win 2003 sp2; one for App server hosting Central Admin, Project Server service & Search service; one for web server; one for database server).  They are only in the same domain and I use the same network account for the installation as well as the WSS service account.  The same network are local admin for those 3 servers. All installation & patches seem ok (at least I don't get error messages) until I attempt to create my first Web Application.  After I filled out the web appliction and try to click OK, the page does not change and i saw the java error at the right bottom corner from my IE browser (version 6). The message is .... Team Foundation Server Reports not working

Hi all,

I'm having the same problems as this:

but I'm using Team Foundation Server 2010 and not 2008. The hotfix does not work with 2010 :/. The files are different.

Are there any people out there using TFS 2010 with Sql Server 2008 (not R2). I can't seem to make it work!

Any ideas?

Report Builder 3.0 unable to access SharePoint Foundation 2010 Report Server

I am having a terrrible time getting this to work. I have configured the SharePoint site and the SQL Servers involved to use Kerberos. That has been confirmed working.

I then configured the SharePoint site's Reporting Services integration (trusted account), enabled anonymous access and enabled report builder. I can launch report builder without any issues at all. The problem comes when I try to save my report. When Report Builder is started Items->New-ReportBuilder Report it opens and display in the lower left hand corner "No current report server." When I close the Wizard dialog and click connect I enter http://server.fqdn.net and I receive the following error:

Connection failed:

Unable to connect to the server that is specified in the URL, 'http://servername.fqdn.net/'.

Make sure that the server is running, the URL is correct, and you have permission to use the server.

I have also tried http://servername.fqdn.net/reportsserver/. When I try that I receive a login prompt. When I enter my credentials it tries for a few seconds and then sends another login prompt. I installed the report server using default settings. The reporting services db is on the same server as sharepoint. The configuration and other databases are on a remote S

How do I create a dynamic image in report server

I have two questions about report server.

Question 1: Is it wise to 1300 users to make use of reporter server order forms to print / view? or are better solutions?

Question 2: In a report to a dynamic image. The picture is on the Internet. http://www.domainname.com/images/12500.jpg
How can I display dynamic image in the report?
The filename can be retrieved from the database with the order number.

I was thinking something like: http://www.domainname.com/images/ (Fields! Article.Value)
This work, unfortunately.

Does anyone have an idea?

moving Team Foundation Server 2010 site to SharePoint 2010 farm.....

What is the best way to move a Team Foundation Server site over to our SharePoint 2010 farm? Can someone please point me to some documentation on how? Thanks,

The report server installation is not initialized. (rsReportServerNotActivated

Our current configurations looks like this.
SSRS version : 2008 on server X
Report server database version : 2008  on SQL server Y
SSRS version : 2008 on server A
Report server database version : 2005 on SQL server B.

We now want to move our PROD report server databse from 2005 to 2008. DBAs have created a new PROD instance on 2008 database and copied all the contents from 2005 PROD to 2008 PROD database. However we need to test if everything works fine, so we decided to point our Dev Reporting services (which is already on 2008) to the new PROD instance (2008 database) and verify if everything looks ok, like the reports, subscriptions etc.  We went ahead and changed the Databse settings in the Report Configuration manager for Dev SSRS and also changed the credentials to point to new PROD instance DB. When we try to access the report manager rom the browser, we get the following error.
The report server installation is not initialized. (rsReportServerNotActivated).
I beleive it has something to do with the encrypted keys but not sure what should we do in order for this to work. Also once our test is completed, we would like to point the SSRS Dev instance back to Dev Report server database, hence I would not like to play much with the keys.

Any solution/suggestions on how should we te

Error when configuring Report Server Database - Wizard is trying to create Database on a non existen

I'm trying to setup SSRS using the Reporting Services Configuration Manager.  Everything seems to be working except the database creation.  When I click on the Database (3rd option down) then Change Database I run through the wizard.  Put in proper SA credentials.  Accept the defaults clicking next through and when it gets to running the script to create the data base I get the Error I pasted below.  We do not have a G drive so I went into SSMS and changed the Default Database settings to point to the F drive (where our other DBs reside) - I got that tip off of this forum but it didn't fix my issue. Any ideas what to try next?  Do I need to stop and restart a service or something?  Thanks for any help you guys can offer.
