I am attempting to install SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Trial and receive the follow error during installation.
"The SQL Server 2005 Express Tools are installed. To continue, remove the SQL Server 2005 Express Tools."
I have used Add or Remove programs to remove all components of SQL Server 2005 Express.ÃÂ I have even reinstalled the Workstation Tools of SQL Server 2005 just so I could indiviually remove those tools, and then completly removed the SQL 2005 installation.
I have used regedit to search for any instance of SQL Server 2005, there is none.
There is still an entry for SQL Server Mangement Express in my all programs listing.ÃÂ However trying to launch that program fails with errors, so it is partial still installed.
Can anyone tell me how to wipe out these last bits of SQL Server 2005 Express Tools?ÃÂ I have tried everything I have found searching this forum to no avail.
- SQL 20008 UNINSTALL does not remove all installed components
After installing FEATURES="SQL,IS,TOOLS" and uninstalling every feature I know with :
- I still have these components left installed :
Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client
Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 ENU
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Shell(integrated mode)
Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2.0
Any ideas on which FEATURE to select to uninstall these from the command line ? (I do not want to uninstall manually from Control Panel Add Remove Programs.)
I want to uninstall properly SQL Server 2008 with a command line
Is there a good documentation on how to uninstall it without forget things (before / after) ?
There are a lot of remaining folder, components, registry key .....
I cant uninstall SQL server 2005 express. I will try to make this as un confusing as I can. I installed a program called SRS that has a SQL 2005 express install as part of it. It would not run after install, so we tried to uninstall it and the SQL server
wont uninstall. It says "ARP wrapper registry enumeration failed. " If I try to install SQL server 2005 express again without uninstalling it, it gives me a 1603 error.
Is there a way to get SQL off my darn server without having to rebuild the OS? It is on server 2008 R2. It is driving me insane. I already tried
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909967 and it didnt work. Does any one know if there is a registry key that holds the info so you cant uninstall it or re install it? My next course of action is wipe the DC and start
over. Very time consuming. I am hoping to avoid this. I hate how microsoft buries this stuff so you cant find it. Or, with my brain power, I cant find it. :)
Thanks in advance.
In trying to install the 2010 Switched On Schoolhouse Home Edition it tries to install the SQL server then comes up with error message that it fails.
Tech support walked me through trying to delete all the SQL titles manually and I came to the last and only application of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with a log file "80" that will NOT delete.
The IT told me it was corrupt in the registry.
Is there ANY way to delete this??? The new installation has a newer version but I think it is the same one.
