Hey SQL Experts,
I'm in the planning time for a Server 2008R2/SQL 2008 R2 Cluster.
As far as I know, the SQL 2008R2 Cluster is based on the cluster functions of Server 2008R2, right?
Is it right to say (view on licenses):
- for a sql cluster (2 nodes) you need server 2008R2 Enterprise licenses under it?
-sql server 2008r2 enterprise license is only required, when I want to build a sql cluster bigger than 2 nodes, right?
-I know the active/passive cluster for failover, but is there a possibility to use a active/active cluster for loadbalancing/performace improves? (and failover, too? in case of failover, I know the performance in a Active/Active cluster will be bad...)
-I need for every cluster functions (related to sql) a shared storage under the server, right?
Thanks for your help!
Thanks, regards, tim
