SQL Reporting Services - Page X of XX counts in header

I have searched high and low for how to calculate page numbering in the header where the global values do not apply.   I have a report that generates 300+ invoices and I need the page numbers to reflect page x of xx for that invoice only.  My report page breaks for each customer invoice.  I have found code to get the page number in the header and I have found code to get the total pages in the body.  These two solutions cannot be combined.    Has anyone found a workaround in code behind or some other method?I would appreciate any guidance.   Side note: thank you all for all your postings and solutions.  They have been highly valuable as I am new to SSRS.

Reporting Services 2005 - export to CSV with no header

I have a very simple table report.  I need to be able to export it as a CSV, but I can not have the first line being the header.  I need just the data and no header.  Is there a way to do this?  I tried working with the Output tab on the tables properties, but I only seem to be able to include or exclude columns not the column headers.

I look forward to you response.

Reporting Services SQL 2005 .Net 4 compatibility?

I've been working on my first asp.net application and for the most part it's been pretty smooth.  Right now I'm having trouble getting reporting services working under SQL Server 2005.  I developed the site with Visual Studio 2010 and didn't think about any of the .Net 4.0 compatibility issues that have arisen.  I'm having no problems with the site communicating with SQL Server 2005 for the regular database stuff.  The only problem I'm having is with setting up Reporting Services.  I have the .Net 4.0 framework installed on the server, however Reporting Services is still using 2.x.  I'm not sure if this is a problem with SSRS or with IIS.  When i go to localhost/Reports it's reading my web.config for my application and throwing an error: "Parser Error Message: Unrecognized attribute 'targetFramework'."  This is referring to a line in my web.config where targetFramework is set to 4.0.

Software that I'm using:

  • Visual Studio 2010
  • SQL Server 2005 Standard
  • IIS 7.0
  • .Net 4.0

Any suggestions?

SQL Server 2005: Install reporting services - which version?

Hello - I installed SQL Server 2005 as part of an SBS2008 install. I need to install reporting services, but now I'm having trouble identifying which version (X64 or X86) I'm running. Is there an easy way of figuring out which installation disk I need to insert for SQL Server 2005? Thanks, Nick.

Hi Guys, apologies if this is the incorrect forum, so moderators, feel free to move it to SQL/IIS/SharePoint as appropriate... [Windows Server Security moderator pushed me this direction]I have a test environment that I'm trying to get SQL Reporting Services 2005 SP3 working in integrated mode with SharePoint 2007 SP2.The environment is all in VMWare, running Server 2003 R2 x86 and is layed out like this:SERVER A:AD/DNS/DHCPSERVER B:SQL 2005 SP3 CU8SERVER C:SharePoint 2007 SP2 Dec 09 CU- Central admin on port 9000- SSP on port 9001- MySite on port 81- Main Content on port 80SQL Reporting Services 2005 SP3 CU8- Reporting Service website on port 82SERVER D:SharePoint 2007 SP2 Dec 09 CU- Central admin on port 9000- SSP on port 9001- MySite on port 81- Main Content on port 80SQL Reporting Services 2005 SP3 CU8- Reporting Service website on port 82Through the use of DNS and (SharePoint) Alternate Access Names, SERVER D is used to deliver the Main Content in SharePoint and the Reporting Service website.  SERVER C is used to deliver the Central Admin, SSP and MySite.I've set up SPN's for the SharePoint App Pools, using the following: [main content] setspn -S HTTP/SERVERA DOMAIN\AppPoolUserA setspn -S HTTP/SERVERA.FQDN DOMAIN\AppPoolUserA setspn -S HTTP/SERVERB DOMAIN\AppPoolUserA setspn -S HTTP/SERVERB.FQDN DOMAIN\AppPoolUserA [repor

Need sum only 1 row for hide duplicates rows in a GROUP in Reporting Services

In a report grouped by Collateral Name, I have the same Collateral Amount in multiple rows.  I clicked "hide duplicates" so it only displays once on the report, but it is summing row the Collateral Amount that is sum from a every row that hidden.  Is there a way in RS to only sum the displayed row (or the top row in a group)? As the sample, I had the data as below:  Collateral Name                     Collateral Amount            Outstanding         C-1                                                    100                            20         C-1                                                    100                            15         C-1                                                    100                            30 Now I can show like this with Hide Duplication properties,  Collateral Name                     Collateral Amount            Outstanding         C-1                                                    100                            20                                                                                                    15                                                                                                    30 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------                                                                 300                             65 -------------------------

SharePoint integration with SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services

Hello Everyone,   I have been banging my head against the wall with trying to integrate SharePoint 2007 and SQL Reporting Services.  If anyone could offer any assistance, I would appreciate it greatly. I have been following these 2 websites down to the letter in trying to configure everything:     1. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb326356.aspx     <---Microsoft's Steps   2. http://blogs.msdn.com/sharepoint/archive/2007/02/19/microsoft-sql-server-2005-sp2-reporting-services-integration-with- wss-3-0-and-moss-2007.aspx   <---SharePoint Blog Group     Basically my setup is as follows:   Server 1 = SharePoint 2007 Server 2 = SQL Server Reporting Services SP2 / SharePoint 2007 services Server 3 = Database   Server1 is setup and running SharePoint 2007 fine with no problems. It was installed under the complete option with its own server farm. Then with the Server2, SharePoint 2007 is installed again, also under the complete complete option, and configured to join Server1's server farm. In this way, Server2 is able to supply Server1 with services and it has been said that if you are using 2 different servers, one for SharePoint and one for Reporting Services, you need to have an instance of SharePoint on the reporting services box. With a SharePoint "front-end" the reporting-services now has a way to also join Server1s farm.   This is where the headache be

Permission Errors for Users on Home Page only of SQL Server Reporting Services Report Manager

I have spent days now investigating this problem, so any help very much appreciated! I have a remote web server 2003 running SQL Server R2 Express Edition with Reporting Services installed. I use Report Builder 3.0 locally to build report. If I login via Internet to Report Manager Web Page as an administrator I can perform all the expected and required actions, creating new folders and assigning permissions for users etc. I have added a new user "ReportUser" as a Browser of a child folder. If ReportUser longs on to home page, he receives the all too familiar error: User 'XXXXXXXX\reportuser' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed. However, if the user starts at the child folder of home page, and then logs in, he sees the expected page, and can run the report!  This is not very satisfactory. How can I allow user to see home page, without an error message, but not be allowed to click on any folders to which he is not entitled? I am now aware that SQL Server R2 Express Edition has many limitations compared with full Editions (fixed roles, cannot manage Report Service from Management Studio etc) , and many of the "solutions" offered on the web just do not apply.   John Walton

How to hide the summary page of Web Services?

Hi there, a while ago I came across a way to hide the summary page of Web Services. I think it's an attribute that I can set for the entire web service interface, but I couldn't find it anymore. Does anyone know how it's done? For example, if I implemented a web service interface at using foobar.asmx, if I access foobar.asmx directly, I will see a summary page that tells me about all the webmethods available, etc. How do I prevent that page from being displayed? Thanks,- K.
