In master package we called all 14 packages question1 First time i will deploy all (master and 14 packages). If i modify one package we need to deploy all the packages or single package deployment is enough    Please help me thanks in advance

Deploy web part to production server

I develop my visual web part on a development machine running windows 7, SharePoint foundation server 2010 and visual studio 2010,

I have SharePoint 2010 production server, and I deploy the web part as the instructions using the following line

stsadm -o addsolution -filename <yourfilename>.wsp

Can a user with SQL express deploy a SSIS to a remote SQL server (how)

sql express does not have integration services.

dtutil does not work without integration services.  This is therefore not an option.

The deployment manifest needs dtutil to execute.  This is also not an option.

The documentation on microsoft states that a person can connect to remote integration services by editing the ini file and then connecting locally. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms137789.aspx.  Without integration service, one can not connect locally to integration services so using the transfer package of sql server is also not an option.

Also connecting remotely to an integration without editing the ini seems to require local admin rights on the target server.  This is a bit too much to ask.  (this is what I experimented let me know if you know the exact requirements)

Is there a possibility for a person with sql express, without local admin rights to the target server, to push his ssis to his sql server test instance?

Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2005 SSIS packages

My home machine has sql 2005  and Visual Studio 2005 installed. I uninstalled VS 2005 (RTM) and installed VS 2008 (RTM) in its place. I then found that the SSIS templates were missing. Lesson: don't uninstall VS 2005 if you want to use SSIS 2005!

1. Is there any "workaround" to this issue?

2. (If the answer to 1 is "No") I will install VS 2008 side-by-side with VS 2005 on the same box.  When the SSIS issue is finally resolved, can I uninstall VS 2005 without doing damage to the VS 2008 install?

Problem in production server replica (Deploy WSP package)

 I have the following problem:

I have a Production Sharepoint 2010 server who has a VS2010 solution and other customizations.
To create a replica server (development server) I need two things (i guess):

 1.  Replicate customizations
 2.  Deploy WSP Package

For 1, I took the database and raised it in the development server (and i set up content database).

The problem happens in the point 2. When I need to do deploy, it says that the application already exists (I believe that it is a product of database migration)

I remove and deploy again and the same problem.

 That can be?

Note: I don't speak english, but i try :P

Creating a SSIS package to get data from free DBF (Visual FoxPro table) in 64 bit SQL Server

Hi everybody,

I originally posted in the wrong forum MSDN Thread

I'm trying to create (for test purposes) a package to load data from VFP table into SQL Server 64 bit. So far I can not figure out how to do it - I created DSN as outlined in Todd's blog, but I don't know what to do next.

Can someone please give me step by step instructions so I will know if it's possible or not? I was under impression it's not possible, but Todd's blog seems to suggest otherwise.

Thanks in advance.

How to deploy ssis Packages to production Environment

Hi All,

I have a few questions regarding ssis package deployment to production environment.

In order to deploy already developed packages ...These are the things I am following...Please confirm whether I am following the correct approach...or not.. If not please let me know the exact process..

First of all I am generating the scripts for databases...corresponding tables, views and stored procedures..

Once the scripts are ready... I am executing those scripts in production environment.

After that I am adding all of my developed packages to production environment BIDS Platform. Then I am running these packages in production environment (All connection strings are updated in the configuration file)...by changing the Configuration file..

Then I am scheduling all of these packages through SQL SERVER JOB AGENT.....

Is this the right approach ...? Please let me know ASAP...

SSIS Package retains designer setting, not Using Configuration From SQL Server Table.

Hello all,

I am using package configurations to set SSIS package variables from the SQL server Database [SSIS Configurations] table.   I have an environment variable set as my first configuration, to hold my database connection, and then the subsequent configurations are SQL configuration entries and held in the [SSIS Configurations] table.

When testing in BIDs, the connection is OK and the designer shows the correct values have been picked up.  All good!

But, when we change the database value in the [SSIS Configurations] table, the old configuration is still being used in BIDs.

I have checked using Profiler that BIDS is calling and retrieving the correct value from the table but the modified value is not being used in BIDs, instead it is retaining the old value when the package was designed.

How do I force the SSIS package to use the configuration specified in the SQL table?

Thanks, Helen

Storage system for SSIS packages(SQL Server , File System, SSIS package store)

Hello SSIS experts,

I just wanted to confirm the difference between SQL Server storage and SSIS Package store for packages. As seen from the BIDS, the SQL Server list packages from msdb(point to note is the folder MSDB is not visible here) and SSIS Package store(MSDB folder is visible) and the authentication is defaulted to Windows (disabled)  from both the file system and msdb?  Just wanted to know if there are any other differences to be noted or request to let me know if there are any corrections to be madein my views?

Happy to help! Thanks. Regards and good Wishes, Deepak.

Temporary tables in SQL Server vs. table variables

When writing T-SQL code, you often need a table in which to store data temporarily when it comes time to execute that code. You have four table options: normal tables, local temporary tables, global temporary tables and table variables. I'll discuss the differences between using temporary tables in SQL Server versus table variables.

Bulk Copy From Datatable To SQL Server Table

I have read the data of a excle file and captured the data into the dataset to a datatable, now that data is to be inserted into a SQL Server table using bulk copy option. I am using -

public bool BulkEnterData(DataTable dt, string tblName)
        SqlBulkCopy bulk = new SqlBulkCopy(con);
        bulk.DestinationTableName = tblName;

        return true;

ERROR Getting-
A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - The pipe has been ended.)

How to resolve the above problem or any other solution is available.

Under the Table: Programming with FileStreams in SQL Server 2008

There's always been disagreement about whether large blobs, such as document and multimedia items, should be stored in the database or file system. In SQL Server 2008 you don't have to choose; filestream storage provides the best of both approaches.
