WCF and Java Web Service Interop -- WS-Securtity 1.0 with MutualCertificate

I am trying to use WCF to call a Java Web Service.  The Web Service has several security requirements based on the Basic Security Profile 1.0:- The client and service should both use certificates  - The certificates will be used to sign and encrypt the message.- In addition, a supporting UsernameToken should be included.Based on those requirements, it seems like I should be using the MutualCertificate (or MutualCertificateDuplex) authentication mode:<customBinding> <binding name="Custom11">  <textMessageEncoding messageVersion="Soap11" />  <security defaultAlgorithmSuite="TripleDesRsa15" allowSerializedSigningTokenOnReply="true"    authenticationMode="MutualCertificate" requireDerivedKeys="false"    includeTimestamp="true" messageProtectionOrder="EncryptBeforeSign"    messageSecurityVersion="WSSecurity10WSTrustFebruary2005WSSecureConversationFebruary2005WSSecurityPolicy11BasicSecurityProfile10"    requireSecurityContextCancellation="false">  </security>  <httpTransport /> </binding></customBinding>And then I need to add a supporting token for the user name.  Something like:BindingElementCollection elements = binding.CreateBindingElements();SecurityBindingElement security = elements.Find<SecurityBindingElement>();UserNameSecuri

problem with calling soap service written (most probably in java)

Hi evebody, I'm experiencing problem calling third-party service written in java (mostprobably). When i call service i get following response: <env:Envelope xmlns:env='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/'> <env:Header></env:Header> <env:Body> <env:Fault xmlns:env='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/'> <faultcode>env:Server</faultcode> <faultstring>Content root name does not match element name: {http://foo.bar/}arg0 != arg0</faultstring> </env:Fault> </env:Body> </env:Envelope> I've used command line java utility provided by service provider and found following difference: soap request, generated by wcf (similar results with webservices)   <s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <s:Body> <baz xmlns="http://foo.bar/"> <arg0 xmlns="">string value</arg0> <arg1 xmlns="">string value</arg1> <arg2 xmlns="">string value</arg2> </baz> </s:Body> </s:Envelope> request, generated by java utility: <S:Envelope xmlns:S="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <S:Body> <ns2:baz xmlns:ns2="http://foo.bar/"> <arg0>string value</arg0> <arg

WCF - Java web service interop - Signed outgoing message not accepted

Hi, I try to sign a message using a certificate and a private key to call a java (JBoss) web service, but the server refuses to accept my signed message. It only echoes back the same message that I've sent. I have successfully signed the outgoing message using the certificate, and the structure of the message look alright when I compare it to an exampel message supplied by the web service creator. I use a custom binding declared as shown below <binding name="FSACustomServiceBinding"                  closeTimeout="00:01:00"                  openTimeout="00:01:00"                  receiveTimeout="00:10:00"                  sendTimeout="00:01:00">           <textMessageEncoding             messageVersion="Soap11" />           <security             authenticationMode="MutualCertificate"             requireDerivedKeys="false"             keyEntropyMode="ClientEntropy"        &nb

Problem to obtain client IP on web service

Friends,

I'm having problems to obtain the client IP on web service. Here's my scenario:

One server with Windows 2003, hosting the web service using .Net Framework 2.0, with IP 10.0.2.50 and host name ServerTransaction.
Other server with Windows 2003, hosting a web application using .Net Framework 2.0, that consuming the web service on  ServerTransaction, with IP 10.0.2.51 and host name ServerApplication.
Many other computers on the local network (IPs: 10.0.2.80, 10.0.2.81, 10.0.2.82, ...) acessing the web application on ServerApplication.

On the code of the web service I've tried to use HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostAddress or HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("REMOTE_ADDR") or HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FORR"), but always I can only get the IP of ServerApplication (10.0.2.51).

Any idea or tip?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

problem compiling web service

Using Visual Studio 2010.

I created a webservice GetDemographicData asmx, GetDemographicData asmx.cs and then used wsdl to create a proxy, then used csc.exe to create dll.

first time when I generate proxy, it looks and works fine, but when I make some changes to my webservice and regenerate proxy the following problems occur:

1.I lost the function: public DataSet Get_GetDemographicData(string CaseNum, int Version)
2. The namespace changed to my-labs

Why?? Please see my code below:

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

problem in consuming WCF service through Window application

I have a silverlight application and WCF service all made in VS 2010 , i had hosted my site to web server which contain Window 2008 and IIS 7.0

Problem with passing an Image as binary through web service

All

I have a web service that is accessed by a windows forms application and receives updates like facility name, address, image etc. Everything works fine except the image data is not being passed to the windows app. I am saving the images in database on both sides, so when I pull it from the server I use the following code

if (!reader.IsDBNull(floorPlanOrdinal))

facility.FloorPlan = (byte[])reader["FloorPlan"];

I can see the facility.FloorPlan Dimentions as 103840 when I debug this method which means that the data is pulled from the database fine.

On the forms side though the dimentions become 0, all other values pass fine except this. Here is the facility property in the web service on server side.

Error Consuming Web Service - Unable to import binding xxx from namespace ...

In VS2008 / C# / ASP.NET 3.5, I wrote a test web service app. Here is an extract from the code:

namespace emed.MathWebService
{
    /// <summary>
    /// Sample Math Services For Learning Web Services Deployment
    /// </summary>
    [WebService(Namespace = " http://localhost/MathService")]
    [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)]

    {
        [WebMethod]
        public float Add(float a, float b)
        {
            return a + b;
        }

.......

I have published this to an IIS virtual directory named MathService, and when I try to launch it with the URL http://localhost/mathservice/MathService.asmx is works fine and displays all the operations (Add, Subtract etc) in the service.

I then created a test web application in VS2008 (named WebSvcTe

64-bit ActiveX Interop Problem

Our sister company wrote an ActiveX component for interfacing to a device that they(we) sell.  I have developed a VS2008 C# interface to the OCX by placing their COM object on a windows form then communicating through the generated interop.  But this is not working when I try to run the application on Win7 64-bit.  When I try to create the form which in turn loads the OCX, I get the following error: COMException was caught.  Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT:0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)) The problem is not that the component is not registered.  I can see that the OCX is properly registered in the registry.  If I run their application it works fine with the registered OCX. I am able to debug the OCX.  I can see the constructor called on a 32-bit OS.  But the constructor is never called on a 64-bit OS.  There appears to be something wrong inside of the AxInterop.  I also tried regenerating the AxInterop in the development system running on a 64-bit OS.  I deleted and readded the component from the form.  But this did not change the problem. I am now at a complete loss as to where to look next.

WCF client Java interop - No Response Headers = MessageSecurityEx

I am using a WCF client to communicate with a Websphere hosted web service.  The service requires my message to be signed, but not encrypted.  This is being done and works as expected.  I can see in my trace logs that I get a valid response back from the service.  However, it isn't making past the proxy becuase of the following error: System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: Security processor was un able to find a security header in the message. This might be because the message  is an unsecured fault or because there is a binding mismatch between the commun icating parties.   This can occur if the service is configured for security and the client is not using security. I've edited the binding to remove the timestamp and have verified that it is not being sent, however, I still get this error.   Here's what the header of my request looks like: <s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:u="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd"> <s:Header> <ActivityId CorrelationId="b0d474df-8b00-4c30-bd05-d1e478529ce4" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2004/09/ServiceModel/Diagnostics">cb8e51de-83b4-4bfe-bf1c-fd92ce86f557</ActivityId> <o:Security s:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:o="http://

wpf charting column series data binding problem

I'm trying to build a chart using the columnSeries from the wpf toolkit and I appear to be having trouble with the data binding. Here is the xaml: <Grid>    <chartingToolkit:ColumnSeries Height="18" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="188,169,0,0" Name="columnSeries1" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="18" IndependentValueBinding="{Binding Path=Date}" DependentValueBinding="{Binding Path=Value}" /></Grid> In the code behind, I'm calling a stored procedure and putting the result in a datatable like this: string connString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["string"].ConnectionString;            using (SqlConnection cn = new SqlConnection(connString))            {                DataTable dt = new DataTable("T1");                cn.Open();                SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("T1_sp", cn);                cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;                  SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter(cmd);                da.Fill(dt);                columnSeries1.ItemsSource = dt.DefaultView;                cn.Close();            } No error is being generated but I'm not getting a column chart either. If I take the same command and put it into a datagrid, it works fine. What do I need to do to get this into my column chart? If it helps,

.NET Client and Java Web Service Interoperability

I have a .net client that consumes an operation on a java based web service that appears to work accept for an issue with passing Boolean values back to the service in the soap message. Any member of the complex type that are defined as Boolean in the service contract will not be present in the soap message generated from the client even though they are set in the code. Sample Client Code: UpdateChecklistItemStatusPortTypeClient     proxy = new UpdateChecklistItemStatusPortTypeClient();     updateChecklistItemStatusReq request = new updateChecklistItemStatusReq(); request.ouid =   "P000122112"; request.applicationId =   "00000032"; request.adminFunction =   "ADMA"; request.checklistItemTypeCode =   "UHSTRN"; request.ceebCode =   "052046"; request.transcriptTerm =   "FINAL"; request.transcriptScores =   true;     updateChecklistItemStatusRsp response = new updateChecklistItemStatusRsp(); response = proxy.UpdateChecklistItemStatusOp(request); Client Soap Message Generated: <s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">   <s:Body xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

Problem Integration SQL Reporting Service 2005 and SharePoint 2007

Hello, I'm trying to make our SQL Reports available on our SharePoint report center. I have SQL 2005 (sp3) report server that resides on a different server than our SharePoint 2007 server. So in our SRS Configuration Tool, we changed the database mode for SharePoint integration (before, we only had it in native mode), so we created a new database for this SharePoint Integration type. Next, I installed the Report Server Add-in for SharePoint 2007 server and it was successful. However when configuring the Report Server, we got stuck at the step "Grant Database Access". For some reason we keep getting error message "Named instance not found" We already installed Service Pack 3 on the Report Server... I heard that the problem is because the mismatched version between the Report Server Add-in in SharePoint and the SQL RS version... but I don't think this is the case for us. Do we need to install WSS on our Report Server too?     Another question: We already integrate our Report Server with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. However I see that when the Report Server is in the SharePoint Integration mode, all the reports in CRM don't work (because Report Manager is no longer available in this mode). Do you think it would be the best practice to install a copy of Report Server instance in our SharePoint 2007 server? Thank you, greatly appreciate all your hel

How to set and map a Method in the Service file with endpoint elements and binding elements

Hi all, I have created a service file like OSService.svc in that i have two methods like one is FileUpload and FileDownload for e.g :- [WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "/fileupload/{fileName}" , Method = "POST" )]         [OperationContract]         void FileUpload(string fileName, Stream fileContents); same as Filedownload also. People you may know these methods are inside the interface of service file what you are using i'e i have created a interface as IOSService.cs. So, what i need now is i want to write separate endpoint for FileUpload and Filedownload.Because i want to set separate value for receiveTimeout  and openTimeout for the Fileupload and FileDownload process in binding section in the web.config file itself. The below code was i'm using right now but still i'm not able to the set separate value of endpoint elements in the bindings. EndPoint Section:- <endpoint name = "endPoint1"  address  = "localhost:8000/OSService.svc/" bindingConfiguration = "TransactionalTCP"   binding  = "netTcpBinding"          contract = "IOSService"/> Binding Section:-  <binding name = "TransactionalTCP"  transactionFlow = "true"   /&

problem rename sharepoint 2010 search service application admin database

Hi all, i have a problem that hopefully someone has an answer to.  i am not too familiar with sharepoint so please excuse my ignorance. we have sharepoint 2010 on a windows 2008r2 server.  everything seems to work fine.  but as you know, the default database names are horrendous.  i have managed to rename all of them, except for the "search service application" admin database. the default is: Search_Service_Application_DB_<guid> the other 2 databases (crawl and property) were renamed without a problem. we are following the article from technet on how to rename the search service admin db (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-nz/library/ff851878%28en-us%29.aspx).  it says to enter the following command: $searchapp | Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication -DatabaseName "new database name" -DatabaseServer "dbserver" however, i get an error about identity being null.  no big deal, i add the -Identity switch and the name of my search service application.  but the real problem comes the error it throws:   Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication : The requested database move was aborted as the associated search application is not paused. At line:1 char:54 + $searchapp | Set-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication <<<<  -Identity "Search Service Application" -DatabaseName "ShareP
