INotifyPropertyChanged, explicit interface implementation and binding

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 16, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WPF
Hello. Can I notify about explicitly implemented property change and what name should I provide to PropertyChanged? Or does WPF support onetime binding only for them?

use of foreach with explicit interface implementation?

Hi, so on msdn page

They say

The disadvantage of omitting IEnumerable and IEnumerator [in C#] is that the collection class is no longer interoperable with the foreach statements, or equivalents, of other common language runtime-compatible languages.

You can have the best of both worlds, type-safety within C# and interoperability with other common language runtime-compatible languages, by inheriting from IEnumerable and IEnumerator and using explicit interface implementation as demonstrated in the following example.

But the example they show right beneath that, does it actually contain any explicit

jQuery Date picker Implementation in ASP.NET

I've posted a wrapper ASP.NET around the jQuery.UI Datepickercontrol. This small client side calendar control is compact, looks nice and is very easy to use and I've added it some time back to my control library.

This is primarily an update for the jQuery.ui version, and so I spend a few hours or so cleaning it up which wasn't as easy as it could have been since the API has changed quite drastically from Marc's original implementation. The biggest changes have to do with the theming integration and the resulting explosion of related resources.

If you want to use this component you can check it out a sample and the code here:

Automatic vs Explicit Properties

If the reason that motivated the change from automatically implemented property to explicitly implemented property was to change the semantics of the property then you should evaluate whether the desired semantics when accessing the property from within the class are identical to or different from the desired semantics when accessing the property from outside the class.

WPF / Silverlight tutorial: Visibility property and binding

Visibility property is a very powerful and yet often overlooked property available in both WPF and Silverlight. It enables you to set Visibility of certain UIElement objects to different states like: Visible, Collapsed and Hidden (not supported by Silverlight). This tutorial shows you how to use it and how to bind to Visibility property

Binding an array to dropdown list

Binding Nested Listviews in MVC ViewPage

I am a longtime .NET developer but for big applications and services.  This is my first asp.net project and I have chosen MVC.   I have a need for nesting a ListView within a ListView.  In this simple catalog app, I have EF 4 Entities that are Categories, SubCategories, ItemTypes, and Items.

My goal is to display a 5 column layout of SubCategories with their ItemTypes below them in a ViewPage.  I did just fine with it done out in C# as server directives such as:

    var subcats = Model.SubCategory.ToArray();
    var nrSubCats = subcats.Count();
    var rows = (nrSubCats/5) + (((nrSubCats % 5) > 0) ? 1 : 0);
    for (var row = 0; row < rows; row++)
    { %>
        <div style="width: 100%; float: left; clear: right;">
        var start = row * 5;
        for (var i = start; (i < start + 5) && (i < nrSubCats); i++)
        var subcat = subcats[i];
            <div style="float: left; clear: right; width: 20%; margin-left: 5;">
                <h2> <%:subcat.Name%></h2>
                    foreach (var its in subcat.ItemType)

Debug implementation of URLrewriter.net

After some googling and help from the forum, I have integrated the the URLrewrting.net in my project. There are no error when I build the project, but the URL rewriting does not work. I am able to figure ot where the problem is. Is there a way to debug this. The code is as below:
