Combining two LDAP queries

Hey guys, I have these two queries I'd like to combine into one.  Is there any way of doing it?
Query 1: (&(!cn=SystemMailbox{*})(&(&(ou>="")(name=executive*)(objectCategory=organizationalUnit)(ou=*operations))))
Query 2: (&(!cn=SystemMailbox{*})(&(ou>="")(name=50*)))
Thanks in advance.

Delete spaces created by combining 2 fields

Howdy, this is kind of a continuation of an answer I got from this thread:  http://forums.asp.net/t/1592766.aspx

My users will enter a city/station where an incident occured, and the date.  The trigger below does work, but it will occasionally put spaces between the citystation and the date.  I think this happens when the citystaion name is not very long, but not sure.

(ex: city____08242010)

How can I make sure that if the incidentid is going to have spaces, that sql deletes those spaces?  I need the id to be space free.

Thanks!

Combining data from 2 lists, then summing a field

I have 2 lists, one is a contact list (client, client title, address, etc.), the other is a list of meetings with these clients (client name, type of meeting, date, etc.).  The 2nd list has multiple entries for the same client.  I am trying to create a report that combines the data in these lists and displays them like this:

Client--Client Title--MeetingType1--MeetingType2

ClientA--President--1--3

ClientB--CEO--2--1

In addition to combining the list data, I also need to break up the Type of Meeting field and sum the number of different types of meetings for each client.  I added the 2 lists to a linked source, then inserted the data into a DVWP adding data from the 2nd list as a joined subview.

I tried this: xsl:value-of select="count(/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row[@TypeOfMeeting = 'MeetingType1'])" but it just returns 0.  I'm not sure if that's the correct method though as I think it will return a count of ALL the rows, not the current row.  Any ideas would be appreciated!

Announcements with Image in Body, displayed via CQWP

I feel like I've set this up to be as difficult as possible for my non-programmer users ;) There's GOT to be a better way. Any guidance much appreciated.

I have an Announcements-type list on a NEWS subsite, with fields for Title, Body, and Summary (body with image plus first few sentences of Body). I have a separate Picture Library to store the images they'll use in the Body and Summary.

The Title and Summary are displayed on the Site Collection HOME using a CQWP.

My instructions for users are as follows

1. place image in http://site/subsite/imagelibrary/Forms/AllItems.aspx
2. right click on image and select Copy
3. go to http://site/subsite/announcementspage.aspx
4. Click New > New Item.
5. In "Body", click CTRL+V.
6. Add Title, Body, and Summary text.
7. In HTML, add align="left" insite <img> tag.

Adding to http://site/subsite/announcementspage.aspx automatically gets picked up by the CQWP on the home page.

Like I said, it's pretty ugly, esp considering that my users don't know HTML. Recommendations warmly appreciated.

Combining email and numeric regular expressions

Hi, I am using the following regular expression within an XSD to validate a combination of email ID's and six digit employee ID's separated by a semicolon (;). for example : vedansh.mm@fgfgfg.com;ghgh@ff.com;333333;555555 ^((\s*;?\s*[0-9a-zA-Z_]([-.\w]*[0-9a-zA-Z_])*@([0-9a-zA-Z][-\w]*[0-9a-zA-Z]\.)+[a-zA-Z]{2,9})+\s*(;\d{6})*)*$ It works for the following vedansh.mm@fgfgfg.com;ghgh@ff.com;333333;555555 but does not work when the six digit number preceeds the email, like below 222333;vedansh.mm@ct.com;ghgh@ff.com;333333;555555;fhfhf@gggg.com or if the input contains only numbers, like 555555 What am I doing wrong. The numbers and email address count may or may not be the same. Thank you for all your help Vedanshu

Combining databases with Identity columns

(Using SQL Server 2005)  I have only a basic knowledge of SQL Server, but need to roll up 5 SQL databases into one database (I guess this is known as "replication"?).  These database are of similar structure and make use of an identity (or autonumber) column.  These id's are also referenced in numerous child tables.  To avoid collisions, this is my plan:   1.  turn off the identity feature of all the columns (but still keep condition of uniqueness) 2.  For each database, assign a unique range of identities (ie, db1 gets 1-500, db2 gets 501-1000, etc) and then renumber these columns accordingly.  The new id's should cascade to the child tables via the table relationships. 3.  Replicate or copy the data of all 5 databases into the new one.  There should be no collisions. 4.  Turn back on the identity feature of the appropriate columns, hopefully everything works as before. After this is done we hopefully can get rid of the 5 original databases and proceed with just one. Should this work and/or is there a better way to do this?

Unstable Announcements

We use announcements on task events almost. There are hand-made tasks and oobwf-based ones. I was testing it today and found out that only 50 % of announcements survived on its way to addressee` inboxes. OOB WF generate announcement only for the first chain link, while i didnt find a pattern in hand-made task announcements, they are absolutely spontaneous. Admin checked exchange - everything is fine, no dead-ends. So they stuck somewhere in the farm. Is there some way to debug this or some methods to break the clog ?

How do I customize Announcements further?

In the webpart, on the browser page, I just want to show the clickable Title and the date modified (not the time stamp) and nothing else ... no boxes, no attachments, no authors, no descriptions, etc.

Can't get Distinct work, when combining fields from inner joined tables

Hi to all.I have a users table, each user has a session and each session has multiple parameters.I would like to retrieve all params for a specific user and get the paramID from the params table and the date submitted from the sessions table. This is the linq to SQL query so far:var items = (from param in db.Params join session in db.Sessions on param.SessionID equals session.ID where userID.Equals(session.UserID) //userID is the function argument orderby session.DateSubmitted descending select new { ParamID = param.ID, DateSubmitted = session.DateSubmitted }).Distinct(); I have noticed that when the DateSubmitted is fetched, i have multiple instances of a param in the result set, meaning that the Distinct does not work as expected. If i remove it like this:var items = (from param in db.Params join session in db.Sessions on param.SessionID equals session.ID where userID.Equals(session.UserID) //userID is the fu

Announcements go missing

Hi all, new here so go easy! LOL. We have recently introduced Sharepoint 2010 as our school intranet, its all good with the exception of one problem we seem to be having.  We are using the Announcements web part, we have renamed it 'Staff Notices' and use it simply for that reason, however, we have found that when staff submit new announcement, and do not apply an expiry date, the announcement disappears the very next day or sometimes within a couple of hours.  We cannot find any particular pattern as to when they disappear.  Please could anybody help out on this.  I`m not sure if you would require any further information as to our setup but please ask if you need anything more.  Many thanks guys!

Posting blog entries or announcements to multiple sites

I am in the process of mapping out our new sharepoint farm. In order to structure this properly I would like to be able to post an entry either as a blog or an annoucment to more than one site at the same time. An example would be a company announcement on an internal staff site as well as a team site with our consultants. Is this at all possible in any way? Or would these need to be posted in each place individually.

thanks!

Combining treeview and newspaper column flow

Hi I'm trying to get a handle on a layout I'm trying to achieve.

The UI will be split into a number of equally spaced columns. I like the flow document reader. What I want to flow is the "out put" from a tree view, which, when a node is expanded may contain editable content (text), check lists, images (with an (optional) upload button). The content of each note and the tree would be data driven. So part of the issue is, would a node with a list which is too long for the column it starts in, flow into the next column (correctly) indented for its level in the tree view. Is ther a (good) example of this sort of behaviour out there?

Announcements

I would like to link all my site collection announcements to appear on a different site within the sharepoint site.  I am assuming I can modify the announcement list to allow the other sites check a box to appear on main page.  However what is the best way to link the announcements to appear?  Is this an RSS feed or do I create a new list with a view to appear on the main page?

Combining similar SQL queries into one

I am trying to have one SQL query that includes the data from 3 of the same SQL queries with slightly different where clauses.  I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how best to do this:

My final query needs to include these four fields such as:

SELECT MonthYear, LessThan2, EqualTo2, GreaterThan2

Here's the queries to get the data:

For LessThan2:
-----------------
SELECT CAST(ta.IntervalMonth AS nvarchar(

Combining lists from multiple sites into SPGridview

I have one main SharePoint site which has 5 child sites. Each child site represents a different department. On each of these sites there is a list called "ActionPlans". These lists all have the same name and the same number of columns. I need to somehow combine the 5 "ActionPlans" from the child sites into one on the main page.

I was able to loop through the SharePoint object and pull out one list, populate a datatable and display it in the SPGridview. I am having problems looping through the other sites and combining all lists.

Please help, Ninel
