I've been building web sites and for my next project I will be creating a web application. I use a 'BasePage' class in all my projects but, since web applications do not contain the 'App_Code' folder, what is the best place/practice for the 'BasePage' class?
This article describes a simple Web site monitoring tool built with XML, JScript, Windows Script Host, and COM objects. Although it is not intended to replace complete Web site monitoring software products, it has many useful features that help to keep Web servers up and running. An XML configuration file specifies which Web sites to monitor and the actions to be taken if the site isn't functioning properly. In addition, the tool can be scheduled to run at any specified interval using the Windows Task Scheduler. Functions that probe the sites, log events, and send e-mail notifications are written in JScript.

I've been using MOSS 2007 for my company's CMS system for the last 2 years or so. Recently, the marketing department has asked us to include the option for multilingual support so naturally, I looked to using variations to accomplish this, however, the site
was setup without variations since this was "definitely" not a requirement back when we setup the site.
My problem is when I enable variations, it seems to create new sites off of the root (e.g. English, Spanish, French), however, it isn't copying anything from the Root site that already exists or any of it's subsites or pages. Is there any
to keep my existing site content intact and still use variations, including all of the update features?
Thanks in advance
I am receiving the error "Cannot complete this action. Please try again" when trying to add a document library to one of the sites. This is Sharepoint 2007 SP1. I seem to be able to do it thru designer but not the web interface.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have a custom ASP page that I need to add to my sharepoint 3.0 web site. I created a virtual directory under my website and placed the ASP file. When I link to the ASP file, I get a 404 page not found. To make sure I had the correct URL
path, I created a test html file and placed in the same virtual directory and linked to it just fine. I think it has something to do with managed paths and sharepoint trying to control this new ASP content. I cannot figure out how to exclude this
content from managed paths.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue so I can run this custom ASP file under sharepoint 3.0?
First I am newbie using EF - so sorry on this basic question
I have a Project Table that relate to Company Table
When I Map with EF I Do not have property of CompanyId in the Project Object
But I have related Company Object
Project p = new Project();
p.CompanyId è does not exist!
When I try addingit myself I get this error:
If I need just the Company id, and I don't want get it like
p.Company.CompanyId - because than the application try connect again to the DB and I don't want this, because I need just the CompanyId.
What the best regular way to get it?
I have a data modeling question that hopefully this fictious example will help explain. My application is data driven and the classes reflect the tables to a large degree. In this example my database has two tables:
The VendorContact table also has a Foreign Key of VendorID in order to associate the contact with a specific Vendor. In this example a Vendor can only have one contact.
My question is how to represent these two tables in terms of classes. In my current design I have two classes:
In order to represent the relationship between a VendorMaster and VendorContact, my VendorMaster class contains a property called VendorContact.
My questions are about the VendorContact class and how it represents the relationship between a VendorMaster and itself.
The VendorContact class should contain an int property of VendorID
The VendorContact class should contain a VendorMaster Property
I am not sure which option is the 'best' option to take. My concern is that if I go with option #2 that I would create a cyclical relationship between the VendorMaster and Vendo
