I setting up MySite on SharePoint 2010 for my organization. MySite is our first priority to get up and going. Everything is installed and working.
- SharePoint installed
- Active Directory is synced
When I browse around for users in the search bar, everything looks fine. I can use the organization chart to browse up and down, and their names is all correct.
When a user connects to MySite for the first time, the MySite is obviously created and the user can start to add content and so on.
But - After the user logged in for the first time, his Displayname (property collected from AD) shows as "domainname/username"
After we tried and tested a couple of users and they logged in, the organization chart is falling apart, and the displaynames are all changed to domainname/username.
Anyone know what causes this?
In our server the welcome user line shows "welcome [domain\user]" instead of "welcome [user display name]".
How to configure?
The workflow refuse to go ahead after operation when browsing the mobile page (...?mobile=1), but same workflow by SPD (Collect data from user) is nunning well on the non mobile page (ASPX).
In mobile page, no "complete task" button. Only a "save" button.
Using it's "save" button, some modified can be saved in the page, but it's workflow not go ahead.
I tested "assign for approval" workflow by SPD on mobile page, same.
if you try "assign for feedbak" by SPD on mobilepage, it's oK. The workflow can go to it's end. Funny.
My wish: The "Collect data from user" designed by SPD can go ahead when using the mobile page (...?mobile=1). My boss like to do it by mobile phone.

if using iPod tests it, same as above.
I am encountering the below issue with Search configuration in my Single server setup. In General Application Settings > Farm Search Administration > Modify
Topology > the Index Partition shows the ‘Query Component’ Not Responding. Nothing is getting crawled
In Event Viewer I see the below event ID:
Log Name: Application
Source: Microsoft-SharePoint Products-SharePoint Server Search
I am having the exact problem with the Configuration failing. It appears that EmilyBen fixed the problem by uninstalling and "reimaging" her server. Would you please tell me how this is done and will I be able to reinstall without any problems, such
as reusing my license key for the product?
I have created a SharePoint 2010 portal and I'm trying to configure external host header (www.xyz.com) to it. I bought
www.xyz.com from provider where it was mapped to static IP address on the SharePoint server.
I tried the following options in SharePoint Admin and none of them worked.
Added xyz.com address in lmhosts and hosts files
Had to make change a change to mysites, created new web app and opens up with out issue, but the link from inside the main sharepoint site goes to the wrong place... I am having a major brain cramp on how to properly associate the mysite link to the proper
web app or vice versa...
i made an aspx page with some Tables and Webparts at mySite and set is as my HomePage and successfully exported it with SPD 2010.
How can i now change the MySite Host Template to that custom Page, so that every time a user creates his MySite the new Page is used as template?
I just read its not the MySite Host Template which i need to edit in order to change the homepage of every users site collection that gets created. which template would that then be ?
I also read about "feature stapling".
Could this be any helpfull for my purpose?
If yes, could you folks point me to the right direction?
MySite is up and running fine. I am adding photos through Central Administration > Manage User Profiles. All photos are syncing and showing up in contact lists whenever someone is added to a "Person or Group" Name (with picture) column.
I recently added someone, uploaded their photo. It syncs fine with AD, can see it in the thumbnailPhoto attribute for this user. I looked in the UserProfile_Full.PictureURL column in the Profile DB. It is there as well (http://sharepoint:80/my/User
Photos/Profile Pictures/DOMAIN_USERNAME_MThumb.jpg). The photo refuses to display in the contact list.
This is only happening for one user. Any ideas?
