Embed Blog into Sharepoint HomePage

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 16, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Good Morning. I have a blog that I would like to display on the Sharepoint Home Page as it will contain corporate info. I do not want to have people have to click a link to get to the blog. I want to actually embed it so people can see it on the right hand side of the homepage within a webpart. Appreciate any direction on this. Thanks, Angela

SharePoint Blog - Admin web part - newBlogPostOnClient JavaScript function

In the Admin Links web part in a default blog site, there are several links, the last one of which launches Microsoft Word and allows you to manage your posts from the Word blog template.  Cool feature.  But that web part is not configurable and I can't figure out how to duplicate that functionality.  It appears to have 3 GUIDS that are part of the function, part of the last parameter looks like the Posts list GUID, but it is concatenated with another GUID.   I want to either create my own web part or modify the XSL of the page to call the function, but I'm not sure what those other GUID parameters are.  Does anyone know?  The last one seems to be two of the separated by the # character.

Sharepoint Blog Post List Renaming in onet.xml

Ihave created a Site definition and added a Posts Listview in the same.

<View List="$Resources:core,lists_Folder;/$Resources:core,blogpost_Folder;" BaseViewID="10" WebPartZoneID="Left" WebPartOrder="1"/>

This list is created using my own schema.xml which i have copied from the Blog site template.

I wanted to rename the title of the list [not Title field] which is coming to be Posts right now.

Is there anyway to do it?

Any help appreciated

Displaying Top 5 Users of a SharePoint 2007 Site on Homepage

I am trying to create dynamic content and reward participation on a SharePoint site.  One of our ideas is to display the Top 5 users and Top 5 Viewed Documents on the homepage.

One of the ideas I had was to use the site aggregator to display the user statistics but the results are clumsy, at best, and not every user will have full control permissions to view these statistics.

Is there a relatively easy way to accomplish this without using SharePoint Designer?  Any ideas are appreciated.

SharePoint Blog Posts Rating/Voting

It is possible to make a blog and have a voting system for the posts?

Ex: We have a blog and 50 users, everyone posts a joke, and users can vote/rating the jokes. The joke with mosts votes/ratings wins!

Can you tell me if this is possible on SharePoint 2007 and how?

SharePoint Blog - Disabling or redirecting hyperlink of username who posted

Is there anyway to disbale the username of the poster? For example, when a post is created the next line displays by username on 10/6/2010 3:00pm. I've seen other Sharepoint blogs where this is disbled.

If cannot be disable is there any way to redirect to a different url when the hyperlink is clicked? I know this has to be done with div.ms-postfooter, but can't find any info anywhere.
