Create excel file from Binary data on SqlServer

My requirement is that i upload an excel file then i need to validate that data.

Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.ExceptionHandling.Logging .. can not be resolved.

Hi everyone and I would like to thank in advance for any help related to the problem I am having. We are trying to move a legacy aplication from framework 2 to 4, and one of the components that is moving forward as well is the Enterprise Library.  Unfortunatly it i s th eonly thing that gives us a lots of grief....  To ilustrate the problem, I wrote a small sample.  Here is the code.using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using System.Data; using System.Data.Common; using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data; using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.ExceptionHandling; using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Logging; using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Common; public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { Label2.Text = "Enter Parameter"; Button1.Text = "Go"; TextBox1.Text = String.Empty; TextBox2.Text = "1"; } protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { DataSet ds = null; DbCommand dbCommand = null; Database db = null; int num = 0; int.TryParse(TextBox2.Text, out num); try { db = DatabaseFactory.CreateDatabase(); dbCommand = db.GetStoredProcCommand("dbo.sps_HierarchyLev

Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary DLL versioning Heck

I have to fix a program using Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary. I get an error saying the assembly manifest doesn't match the web.config.  The web.config is defined as version  All the ones in the project are version 5.0.414.0.  Fine, I change those to 5.0.414.0.  I get the same error.

Does anyone have any ideas what this thing wants.  It doesn't say what version it's found, just that it isn't the one I specified.  It doesn't say where it's found it because it's not in my project.

If this is Microsoft's solution to DLL hell, they seem to have only succeeded in adding another nine levels to the suffering.

At least they could have setting where you don't care what verison it is and let what happens, happens.

Create Excel file dynamically in SSIS package and fill it by resultset data returned by Stored proce

Hello Every One,

I have a scenario in which i am executing a Stored Procedure which returned a result set.

I want to create a Excel file [name_date_time] dynamically, and fill result set data into Excel file. And then finally sent Excel file to Specific user[Email ID].

Point is that the excel file should have unique name so i want to give name as name_date_time.

So every time when package run new file is created with unique name.

Can any one suggest me who to create Excel file and fill result set data into Excel file.

And then finally send that Excel file ?

How do I create an XML file from a text file containing simple ascii data? Put another way, how do I

Im trying to take a text file I downloaded from the US Census Bureau website and transform it into an XML file. It is what the Census Bureau calls a ZCTA file. The schema of the file I have reposted as follows:

ZCTA File Record Layout

The ZCTA file contains data for all 5 digit ZCTAs in the 50 states, District of Columbia and Puerto Rico as of Census 2000. The file is plain ASCII text, one line per record.

  • Columns 1-2: United States Postal Service State Abbreviation
  • Columns 3-66: Name (e.g. 35004 5-Digit ZCTA - there are no post office names)
  • Columns 67-75: Total Population (2000)
  • Columns 76-84: Total Housing Units (2000)
  • Columns 85-98: Land Area (square meters) - Created for statistical purposes only.
  • Columns 99-112: Water Area (square meters) - Created for statistical purposes only.
  • Columns 113-124: Land Area (square miles) - Created for statistical purposes only.
  • Columns 125-136: Water Area (square miles) - Created for statistical purposes only.
  • Columns 137-146: Latitude (decimal degrees) First character is blank or "-" denoting North or South latitude respectively

Columns 147-157: Longitude (decimal degrees) First character is blank or "-" denoting East or West longitude respectively

All I want to do is produce an XML file with t

MVC architecture in ASP.Net using C# and Microsoft Data Access Application block

The Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern separates the modeling of the domain, the presentation, and the actions based on user input into three separate classes [Burbeck92]:

Model. The model manages the behavior and data of the application domain, responds to requests for information about its state (usually from the view), and responds to instructions to change state (usually from the controller).

View. The view manages the display of information.

Controller. The controller interprets the mouse and keyboard inputs from the user, informing the model and/or the view to change as appropriate.

Dear gentlemen and ladies of the Microsoft Dynamic Data Team,

Mr. Steve Naughton says (and I hope so) that there might be chances that you read the posts published in this forum: I really hope so.

If that were the case then I am formally requesting to you in providing a "real answer" to my question:

I want to customize a dynamic data page (the details one) so I can have access to the data it has been already gathered from the end user UI (details.aspx) and use it to pass this same data to the following controls/pages that I am going to display next time to the end user.

For instance:

I have a screen with different types of data in it: texts, numbers, dates, check boxes, radio buttons and dropdownlists that has been filled with data by the end user. I want now to reset all fields exept the dropdownlist of which I'd like to keep the previously chosen values(the very same thing you do between dropdownlist of List.aspx ad Details.aspx). Even with FoxPro I could do that because data and controls were available there. It was as simple as setting carrying on to true.

I have found my

Create ID (uniqueid?) from two fields when data is entered

I need to create an ID from two fields when they are entered into the db for the first time.  I thought Uniqueidentifer would do this, but it looks like uniqueidentifier is random and i have no control of the process.

My user will enter 4 letters into a column called INIT and 4 numbers into a column called NUMB.  What I would like to do is create an id by combining those fields.

How can I do this?
