Workflow designed for infopath 2007 fails when triggered by infopath 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 15, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint

I have a workflow that changes the permissions on an infopath form that is saved to a library. When the form is saved to the library with infopath 2010 the workflow fails with the following error:  DP.Sharepoint.Workflow.DPWorkflowException: Error loading form data file. Likely causes: this file is not a valid InfoPath Form! ---> System.Xml.XmlException: Root element is missing. at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Exception e) at System.Xm I have tried to uninstall infopath 2010 and office 2010 then install infopath 2007 and the workflow still fails. Can someone help me either figure out what I need to change on the workflow for it to function with infopath 2010 or what the uninstaller is missing when removing the office 2010.

Using Infopath form fieldnames in a workflow fails

Hi,

I designed a form in Infopath and I published it on a SP2007 server to use in a workflow in a library. That goes fine. In the workflow I send an email message. I can use the fields from my Infopath form in the message that I create.
If the workfow is starts, Shrepoints sends me the message. But it does not use the fields from my InfoPtah form in the message in stead I see questionmarks.

Why doesn't it show the fields?

I alse saw (maybe this makes it clear) that when I let it dipslay the URL in the message, it show: http://1.portal.lucasonderwijs, but the actual site is whithout the "1" and it should also start with https://

Has anyone seen this before?

Thank you,

Ronald

Hi all, I'm new to infopath forms and i dont find much articles to develop enterprise application (I'm coding for an ERP module). I have sys environement of MOSS 2007, windows 2008 (64 bit), MS SQL 2008  Though it is easy to design and publish form to a site,  devloping the form with more business rules and validation seems to be vague for me. Problems when deploying sequential workflow with association Infopath form of sharepoint 2010 using

I’ve create a workflow project with infopath in it. And I get the error

“Error occurred in deployment step 'Activate Features': Unable to locate the workflow's association data. To restore the association data to the workflow, restart the workflow settings wizard by selecting the workflow node in Solution Explorer and then clicking the ellipsis button (…) on one of the properties in the Properties window that has an ellipsis button.”

I'd really appreciate of any help.

Problem with InfoPath 2007 Form opened with InfoPath 2010 - whole number integer not coming into dat

I found an issue when testing existing InfoPath 2007 forms via the Infopath 2010 Designer client.  Integer fields in the form template are publishing to a SharePoint Forms Library and show in the default view.  However, if that library is then used as a Data Connection in another or same form template those integer fields are not displaying or available for selection.

This is not a problem using the InfoPath 2007 client.  It is not an option to convert the field to text as it could affect existing forms in existing libraries.  Also, existing integer fields are no longer appearing in previously defined SharePoint-based secondary data connections.  Only the ID field still appears.  But, those existing fields still work in the form and are selectable for functions, etc.

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks much!  Mike - www.ProgramNetInc.com

Infopath 2010 submitting to MOSS 2007

Hi all,

I have a quick query regarding Infopath 2010 submitting data into a MOSS 2007 form library.  This is the first time I'm trying to build a form using 2010.  Normally in 2007, when cerating the submission I'd query the form library to get the ID & then use @max(ID)+1 to get the next available number which I'd then use in the name of the form, however, in Infopath 2010, you don't appear to be able to use the ID field in formula as it doesn't appear in the list of avaialble fields in the data connection.  I considered using a calculated field which equals the ID, but calculated fields aren't usable either.

Has anyone else seen this or is it just my installation? has anyone worked around this?

Thanks in advance.

Stu

calling InfoPath 2007 Client from SharePoint 2010 Foundation

I'm relatively new to SharePoint and very new to InfoPath. A client I just acquired hired me to develop a fairly complicated InfoPath solution that they want to be able to call from within SharePoint. Right now, they have a new SharePoint 2010 Foundation system and Form Server is not installed. They also currently have Office 2007, including the InfoPath client, on all computers in the workplace (this is an intranet only situation).

First, I created the needed lists/libraries in SP. Then I set to work developing the form in IP Designer 2010 (setting it for IP 2007 client compatibility). While the form is not yet done, I now want to setup a link in a ListView in SharePoint that launches the IP 2007 client on the user's computer, but I'm having troubles figuring out which way to go. There is a fair amount of C# code used by the form and while I'm an administrator on the server, I'm not familiar with setting up certificates to enable full trust (if that's what I need to do).

As a newbie, I'd really appreciate any pointers to existing answers or guidance of whatever sort.

Thanks

Problem opening an attachment from Infopath 2007 form in SharePoint 2010

I have an InfoPath 2007 form that is opened as a web based form in SharePoint 2010 that has an attachment control.  In Windows XP with IE 7 when you double click the attachment there is a warning message presented and after you click OK you get a prompt that asks if you want to open or save the file or cancel.  In Windows 7 with IE 8 when you double click the attachment there is a warning message presented and after you click OK you get a prompt that asks if you want to save the file or cancel, no open option.  I already set the SharePoint browser permission to permissive for the site and it doesn't help.  How can I get this to work in Windows 7 and IE 8?

Infopath 2010 designer is not allowing to save or publish infopath 2007 form with design checker err

Infopath 2010 seems a lot slower than infopath 2007

Hi guys,

I've made an Infopath 2007 form hosted on a sharepoint 2007 server. I use 2 virtuals machine to test different user roles and setups. One thing is clear : Infopath 2007 is way faster than 2010.

- The form is opened from XYZ library in sharepoint.

- The form is created with office 2007 pro plus (infopath)

- The Sharepoint server is the 2007 one with all the latest upgrades.

- When opened with infopath 2007, it takes less than 1 second to load

- When opened with infopath 2010, it takes more than 10 seconds to load

- Every drop down in the form is populated from an XML file located on a web server.

- The form need full thrust permission and so use a CA certificate. Certificate which is created by the domain controller. (windows server 2008 r2)

- The form send email and browse active directory from code behind.

I wanna know why infopath 2010 take so long to load.

Using Microsoft Infopath 2010 with MOSS 2007

I currently have InfoPath 2007 forms uploaded on the MOSS 2007 server in which we can fill out and will submit to/query from a database. I was curious if I decided to upgrade to Microsoft InfoPath 2010 would it be a smooth transition or would I need to change anything since I'm not upgrading MOSS 2007. Thanks in advance!

Can you embed an Infopath 2007 form with MOSS 2007 in an Outlook 2010 email?

Hi,

MOSS 2007, Infopath 2007 and Outlook 2010

Is it possible to embed the Infopath Form in the email itself.

I read this link (point 1) http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/infopath/microsoft-office-infopath-2007-top-10-benefits-HA010165024.aspx, but I have been unable to do this?

Do you have to have Infopath 2007 on the client machine to be able to do this?

Thaks.

John.
