Blog category view not showing any posts?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 15, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Is there something i need to do for the category specific views of posts?I have the categories webpart, and people are adding their posts to 1 or more categories, but when clicking on one of the categories it shows no posts what-so-ever.  THe only posts that do show are ones where I remove all categories.I have tried editing the current view and typing the category name in and that works, I am assuming that the category should be put into that field from the query string by the webpart??? or is there something i need to do??Thx for all help offered.

How do I adjust the # of posts visible on the main page of a blog? Summary view?

So while I love the basic summary view used by the blog, I would like to limit the main page to showing just the 5 most recent updates.  Most views this is easy to edit by adjusting the item limit on the list, but since the Summary view of the posts list doesn't show up anywhere I am unsure where I can set the limit.

I have looked at the editable views in designer but again I do not see the Summary view listed anywnere.  Help

Blog permissions, who can view posts

I'd like to be able to filter my blog posts in such a way that if you are in the admins group you see posts tagged with the content admin, and if you are not in that group you don't see those posts. I cannot figure out how to accomplish this. What I did do that seems to work (but it's a lot of leg work) was to create the groups for my blog (members owners and visitors) visitors have read access. I go into each post, break inheritence, remove authenticated users and visitors, then visitors can't see those posts. I tried creating two categories (visitors and admins) I removed authenticated users from the permissions of the admin category and tagged some posts with that category. When i log in as a regular user I can still see all of the posts. Is there an easy way to do this? Am I just overlooking something?

scrollbar is not showing for sharepoint list with group by view

Hi, have created a Share point 2007 list having a huge data. I have created a group by view by grouping the data with category. My requirement is to show the data as web part on a page. When i did so, while expanding the group inside the web part, the web part is expanding. I want to keep the height and width of the web part fixed so that the layout of the page will not be ugly looking. But though I am putting the option for fixed height and width in the web part setting but I am not able to see the scroll bars. Where as I can see the height and width are fixed but could see a few data instead of all the data with scroll bar.   Please advice me if there is any solution or workaround.Deeptyranjan

Color list view showing in Designer but not in IE or FF

I've created some color-coded List views in Designer using a calculated column that renders an HTML tag. I then edited the tag with the "disable-output escaping" set to "yes". The color shows fine in Designer but never on the browser page. I've tried viewing this in IE and FF. Anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks.

View All Site Content Showing the wrong number of items

NOTE:  Similar post also had no answer: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointecm/thread/f775ba0d-648f-4be3-9017-78539915b281/ I am the Site Collection Administrator/and also tried logging in using Farm Account.  I go into View All Site Content and I show 15 documents.  When you actually go to the All Items view (and I double-checked, no filtering), you only find 9 documents.  Versioning is not turned on.  I am a developer, so I also used the Web Service to try to troubleshoot.  The Lists.asmx web service shows an Item Count of 15 using the GetList method.  However, using the GetListItems method, the item Count reports 9 items, which is what I see in my browser. Is there an stsadm command that I can run that will "true up" this number being reported in View All Site Content? Thanks in advance. - Update -  MOSS 2007 v 3.0 server farm.

flow doc reader showing 2 pages on 1 page view mode

Got a question about a flow doc reader. I'm using it for a report page and its main purpose is its scroll mode.  However, I'm wanting to use its 1 page mode for a print preview kind of thing.  If i have the flow docs page size set to roughly 8.5" x 11" the one page mode displays it perfectly to how it would be printed.  If i change the page size to a landscape format roughly 11" x 8.5" the doc reader crams everthing in on one page. Question is: Can you modify the doc readers one page mode to display pages as they would be printed? If not is there a way you can set up a print preview dialog with the flow doc?  Thats equally as good. Another random question.  When I call the flowdocreader.print method it displays a print dialog.  Problem is the close button on the dialog lines up with the print button on the toolbar.  If you try to close the dialog it clicks through the print dialog and hits print again.  This causes an infinite amount of print dialogs to appear and you have to close each one of them with cancel.   Is there a way to set focus to the print dialog or change its start up postition. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated.

Showing the SPBuiltInFieldId.ItemChildCount Field in a Document Library View?

Is it possible to display the number of items contained within a sub-folder within a document library?  When the user opens up the document library, he would like to see next to any sub-folder the number of items contained in that subfolder without having to navigate into it.

In the MSDN documentation there is a built-in field, SPBuiltInFieldId.ItemChildCount, where the number of items is kept.  Can this field be used to accomplish this requirement?  If so, is there any information on using the SharePoint object model on how to expose it?  It is not accessible from the Document Library Settings.
