Visual Studio 2008 Web Test Option Missing

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 15, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
I initially installed Visual Studio 2008 Developer edition.  I then installed Visual Studio 2008 Suite edition, with 2008 Developer edition still on the PC.  When attempting to create a new Web Test, this option is not available to select when adding a new test in the solution.  The steps I followed: 1) Create new Project:  Test Project 2) Add "New Test" 3) At this point I would expect "Web Test" to be an option, I only have Ordered Test, Unit Test, and Unit Test Wizard.   Do I need to uninstall Visual Studio 2008 and start with a clean Visual Studio 2008 Suite to get the "Web Test" option to show?

Visual Studio 2008 Asp.net Development Server Launches When use local IIS is project option

I have a visual studio 2008 asp.net MVC webapp project.  The project is set to use local IIS WebServer. When I run without debugging, it runs just fine.  However when i run with debugging Visual studio launches the Asp.net Development Server on top of IIS.  I would not care if it wasnt for the fact that any time i make a web request to the MVC Site it seems to be creating duplicate requests resulting in a very painful debugging experience. Thanks,Giovanni

crystal report -visual studio 2008 dual axis chart (bar & line)

dear all,

i use crystal report integrated with  vs.2008, and i want to make chart with dual axis (bar & line).

i have used bar chart and input the data with 2 values..

then in chart options > template, i activated the dual axis..

my question is, how i can change the 2nd value with line chart not bar chart??

i'd tried to find the right settings in "chart options" but still can't find the solution.

for information in "chart options" there are 4 sub menu : template, general,titles,grid..

i read in a tutorial there's more sub menu called "series" in crystal report (stand alone version)..

is it possible doing it in Crystal Report VS. 2008?

please,, i need your advice and solution..

Thanx before..

Test: Build Quick and Easy UI Test Automation Suites with Visual Studio .NET

The .NET Framework provides a surprising new way to quickly and easily create user interface test automation. By using objects in the System.Reflection and System.Threading namespaces, you can write automated tests in minutes instead of hours. This article walks you through the building of a typical Windows-based application that will be used as the test subject. The author then runs through the creation of a C#-based test tool that simulates clicking the test app's UI controls and checks the application's state. After the tool is built, the author explains in detail how it works so you can modify and extend it for your own use.

CSS support in visual studio 2008 express edition

I have several css style sheets I want to work with.  I have copied them into the appropriate directory structure in my project.  The styles are applied correctly.

But the manage CSS styles tool bar on the left margin doesn't seem to work correctly.  At one point I had generated a style sheet and worked with it there, but now it not only can't find the one it generated, but the attach style sheet link doesn't respond at all, nor does anything in this bar.  Same deadness with the CSS Properties bar.  With or without a style sheet loaded in the editor -- a style sheet that is active in the project such that when I run it, the styles are applied.

VB version of studio, running on Vista home basic.

PS, the design mode works a lot better than the professional version I use in my day job on XP and server 2003.

Where is the Visual Studio 2008 Web Control Library Template

Does a project exist for grouping user controls? Visual Studio 2005 had this template but it does not appear to exist in 2008.

We will be creating several User Controls and would like them grouped accordingly.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

WPF Designer (in VS 2008 and VS 2010) crashes with Visual Studio

Good day all. I have the following question: WPF designer in both VS 2008 and VS 2010 crashes with Visual Studio when I try to edit UI form. Moreover, it crashes even when I try to save .xaml.cs file. Meanwhile, Winforms and Dataset UI editors work as usual. Are there other people met this issue? And how could I fix up this problem? Deleting the .suo file, uninstalling silverlight, repairing visual studio, and further googling did not help me. Thanks in advance.

DataGrid is missing from Visual Studio 2010 Toolbox

My machine is a Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. I am trying to convert an existing project to .NET 4 with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. All updates and service packs are applied. My project is a WPF Forms Application. In the application properites, the Target framework is set to .NET Framework 4 Problem:  I am trying to add a DataGrid, but the DataGrid is missing from the Toolbox!   1.  Open Toolbox   2.  Notice that under "All WPF Controls" DataGrid is missing.   3.  Right-click title bar of "All WPF Controls".   4.  Select "Choose Items" from menu.   5.  "Choose Toolbox Items" Dialog box appears.       Put a check in the DataGrid box.   6.  Hit OK At this point the Dialog Box disappears, but the ToolBox menu is not updated. There is no DataGrid item under "All WPF Controls", and I cannot add it. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Charles
