I am trying to do SSRS scale out deployment on our Cluster. I am confused in which way I should proceed, based on what I have read and done, i am having two ideas.
FYI:node1 and node 2 are clustered and node3 has SAN.The configuration is active-active configuration. The SQL server clustering works fine. Now, I have to add SSRS functionality to the cluster. SSRS is not cluster aware, so I have to do a
scale out deployment.
Here is my Plan A:
1.Install SSRS on both the nodes (node1, node2) and have them pointing to the same database or same report database instance. Have NLB on top of it. I guess NLB is built in feautre in microsoft Windows Server 2008 and it
Here is plan B:
2. have two more machines (node 4, node 5) and install report server on them pointing to the same Database on cluster.Have NLB on top off it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I want to implement a full redundant of SQL server for our client. My current topology is: 2 failover cluster of SQL server on 2 different physical servers, and 1 (HP 1000 series) with windows storage server 2008 connected to the SQL servers on SAN.
Now, i want to implement a full availability. I need to add another windows storage server 2008 (to prevent system down in case of crash of first windows storage). My question is, is this available and feasible? what are the requirements?? is there any scenario
on the internet that help in implementing such solutions? and is it solid infrastructure that could provide 99.9% ?
Your help is highly appreciated..
The problem I am posting here is that I was facing nearly 2 weeks around. Any body comes with this stuff please help.
Word Automation in sample ASP.NET(C#) application.
I am using Microsoft.Office.Inetrop.Word Assembly for automation. Here I am reading a XXX.dot template file and fill the contents with dynamic data.
When i am executing my code in localhost:someportnumber the automation is working fine and I could get expected result and when I am hosting in my inetmgr(Windows XP is my OS) it is also working fine.
But the problem is that when I am hosting in my production server(Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition) I am not able to perform automation and results in the following error.
Data: System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternalMessage: Word has encountered a problem.Source: Microsoft Word
The code gets failed in the following line:
ApplicationClass wordApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.ApplicationClass();
Document wordDoc = wordApp.Documents.Add(ref oTemplate, ref oFalse, ref oMissing, ref oMissing); // Error in this line
I cannot able to proceed further. Can anybody please help me in solving this issue?
I have been looking everywhere online regarding this, but have not found a clear answer.
I have an ASP.Net app running on Windows Server 2008, it's basically a reporting app using Crystal Reports. I have encountered a roadblock in regards to rendering some pages. When I run the app in Visual Studio(on the same 2008 machine) everything works perfectly. Yet when I publish it and run it live the reports will not display correctly, I get a message saying Failed to render page.
I looked this error up in the Crystal Reports website and the fixes they have there refer to giving the windows "aspnet" user full access rights to certain folders on the machine. I would be happy to do this, however there is no aspnet user in Windows Server 2008.
I installed the server and set its role to be Web Server. I also checked all the options regarding ASP.Net and IIS 6 compatibility. Yet there is no ASPNET username anywhere.
Did I set the server up wrong? or do I have to do something within ASP.Net to create this user and then give it rights?
I had the CSS friendly adapters working great on our old server (windows server 2003 - 32bit) and now we have moved to a 64 bit environment and now I can not get the CSS friendly adapters to work.
We are using SharePoint 2007.
Is there another work thru for 64bit environment.
I notice windows server 2008 has a directory C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 would I be using the browser file in this directory???

I have created a sequential sharepoint workflow in WSP Builder in my Sharepoint Server and Deployed it.
But the workflows says Failed on start and retrying ans stops there forever says couldn't start the workflow.
I repaired .NET Framework 3.5sp1 installed
1. I tried again, in C Prompt: Lodctr "c:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v3.0\Windows Workflow Foundation\perfcounters.ini" it says initiation file cannot be found
2 i again tried this C prompt Lodctr /R "c:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework\v3.0\Windows Workflow Foundation\perfcounters.ini"
it says reloaded from the system restored
i am still getting the same error.
When i manually go to my C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Workflow Foundation i can see a folder for SQL that's it nothing more than that..
I dont know what is happening i am trying it from 2 days and still no solution.
any ideas would be real great help for me.
