requirePermission - please help - assembly problem (SSRS 2008)

*SSRS 2008 Hi All My report has custom code, the code references Oracle.DataAccess.dll for accessing an Oracle Database. The report works fine in the Designer, when I deploy it to the Report Server, I always get #Error in the column referencing the custom code. I caught the exception, the error is: ============================================== System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection' threw an exception. ---> System.Security.SecurityException: Request for ConfigurationPermission failed while attempting to access configuration section 'oracle.dataaccess.client'. SSRS 2008 R2 Problem understanding View State Validation steps

Hi, Sorry, but I have some problem understanding this steps. Please help me to understand this.  Pasted from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc281307.aspx?lc=1033 How to Configure View State Validation To run a scale-out deployment on an NLB cluster, you must configure view state validation so that users can view interactive HTML reports. You must do this for the report server and for Report Manager. View state validation is controlled by the ASP.NET. By default, view state validation is enabled and uses the identity of the Web service to perform the validation. However, in an NLB cluster scenario, there are multiple service instances and web service identities that run on different computers. Because the service identity varies for each node, you cannot rely on a single process identity to perform the validation. To work around this issue, you can generate an arbitrary validation key to support view state validation, and then manually configure each report server node to use the same key. You can use any randomly generated hexadecimal sequence. The validation algorithm (such as SHA1) determines how long the hexadecimal sequence must be. Generate a validation key and decryption key by using the autogenerate functionality provided by the .NET Framework. (Well, how to generate Validation key using .Net Framework?) In the end, you must have a singl

Barchart migiration problem when I move it from SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2008

Hi I am having a barchart report in ssrs 2005 which  is going to dynamically generate the bars depending on the input parameters for example if we give 15 as input it is going  to generate 15 bar on the chart and if we give 25 as input it is going to generate 25 bars on the report.Report is working well in ssrs 2005 but when I migrate it from ssrs 2005 to ssrs 2008 and run the report it is working well when i select 15 as input it is showing me 15 bar with the names on x-axis and y-axis.But when I select 25 as input it is generating bar chart  and I see multiples of 5 like(5,10,15,20)  bars are getting the names displayed on the y-axis and rest of the names are not displayed on chart.I was trying to expand the bar chart  and trying to see the different. When I expand report is spliting into two pages and I see multiples of 5 like(5,10,15,20) bars are getting the names displayed and rest of the names are not displayed. So can anyone suggest me any solution.   Thanks in Advance

AAM Problem with SSRS 2008 R2 and Sharepoint 2010

I have a single server farm with Sharepoint 2010 and SQL 2008 R2 installed. I have an extranet zone configured - and this is working fine from the internet via a Forefront TMG box.  All features in the farm, including Performance Point pieces (reports/dashboards etc) are working fine via the extranet zone except for Reporting Services reports (these are working fine in the internal/default zone).  I can see the report library, and the individual report items via the extranet, but when I try to view a report, I get this:

" The Web application at https://extranet.company.asia/client/Report Library/Spend by Media Owner.rdl could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application."

My understanding is that multiple zones are now supported in Sharepoint 2010/SSRS 2008 integrations, and that AAM should propagate automatically (?).  Can anyone assist in helping me understand where to look next?

many thanks,

SSRS 2008 export to Excel margin problem

When rendering report from SSRS 2008 with custom margins (let's say 0.5in) into Excel, margins do not export correctly, or do not export at all, thus Excel sets its default margins.

I heard in SSRS 2005 it was not a problem.

Any ideas?

    DrillDown Problem in SSRS 2008

I have prepared one sample drill down report where in, by clicking on the country column's items states will be shown.

Ex.   +US... when I Click on '+' sign, USA states will be shown and '+US' becomes '-US', without altering anything if I Click on

+INDIA it shows states of INDIA and '+INDIA' becomes '-INDIA', at this point i.e when I click on '+INDIA', why '-US' will not

    automatically become '+US' ?

SSRS 2008 R2 Credentialing problem

We moved our SSRS 2008 R2 report server recently (just powered it down and physically moved the box). Ever since we have restarted we have had a credentialing problem (all users presented with credentialing dialog but unable to credential) with the report server. I am told by our infrastructure vendor that this is an Microsoft acknowledged problem. The vendor was on the phone with Microsoft support for several hours trying to fix it without success. What they did was write the URL of the report server into the Local Intranet section of Internet Explorer as this was a "quick and dirty fix".

Everything ran fine for several months until the move.

A few questions:

Is anyone else experiencing this? Do you have a fix?

The problem has not been completely resolved as I now have Terminal Services users reporting the same problem?

SharePoint 2010 and SSRS 2008 R2 Problem

I'm having problems configuring SSRS in integrated mode, whenever I try to do anything with SSRS (including create a data source in a report library) I get a 401 Error. I'll try to describe my setup the best I can.

My farm consists of 3 servers.

SPSQL1 - Contains all the databases needed for SharePoint
SPAPP1 - Central Admin and SSRS (DNS Alias REPORT1)
SPWFE1 - Web Front End

Outside of the environment I have

I have the following SPN's setup:

On spapp_user (Which also is the service account for SSRS)

On cube_user I have

On sql_usre I have

On spwfe1, spapp1, and spapp_user I have setup constrained delegations to

I also have setup the reporting services config file to negotiate instead of use NTLM. And the Applicaon is using classic authentication since we're trying to use Windows Authentication in the reports we want to create when we can actually create them.

So far I have had no luck, however I am able to succe

Problem Analysing SSRS 2008 R2 Error Logs

I have a very simple SSRS 2008 R2 report in Sharepoint 2010 with embedded data source and data set connections. When I edited the deployed report within Report Builder 3.0 launched within Sharepoint 2010.
2.4.2) The query executed fine within the data set component of this report returning data.
2.4.3) On clicking on the run button I get the following error; -
"For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors
Log on failed. Ensure the user name and password are correct. (rsLogonFailed)
The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. (rsServerConfigurationError)"

I have been viewing the Execution log as follows; -

SELECT * FROM ReportServer.Dbo.ExecutionLogStorage ORDER BY LogEntryID DESC

I understand that I should get more information from; -

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.<my instance name>\Reporting Services\logFiles\<today's log file>

But I don't know what my search criteria within this log file is. Can any body help?

Problem opening dotnet 1.1 projet on 2008 web server

We recently upgraded to a 2008 development web server and I installed all the stuff to get dot net 1.1 app working on the server.  I can host them and they work.  My problem is that when I try to open one in VS 2003 I get the following error.  I set up the web server the same as my previous one, and I think a long time  ago I got this error when we set up current one but do not remember how to resolve it.  So I moved my project files from the old server to the new server and then I get these errors.

The web Server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web Project located at the following url: Http://localhost:/MobTracker. 'Http/1.1 500 server error

SSRS 2008 R2 and sharepoint 2007 report builder problems

I upgraded our enterprise sql server 2008 to sql server 2008 r2 last weekend.  Along with this i installed the report builder 3.0 on the servers as well and the updated ssrs add in for sharepoint.  The upgrade went fine, no errors that i could find.  The problem is now when i go to a library that has the report builder content type enabled and click report builder report under new it does not load report builder 3.0.

I updated the custom report builder url in central administration from /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_2_0_0_0.application to /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0_0.application

however when i do click the new report builder report it kicks me over to http://company.com/ReportServer_MossEnt  which itemizes out each individual sharepoint site in the farm.

Is the integration of ssrs 2008 r2, sharepoint 2007 and report builder 3.0 work?  did i install the wrong version of the report builder add in?  The above is the only problem i am having now.

all servers are server 2008, 64 bit and moss 2007 enterprise with sp2 & april 2010 cu

SQL 2008 servers and MOSS 2007 with SSRS

I need help figuring out the limitations in a multi-database server environment and MOSS 2007 installation with SSRS.  Here is the run down:

  • I currently have MOSS 2007 server with backend on SQL 2005, which also acts as the SSRS server.  In addition I have another SQL 2005 server where business data resides and against which most of the SSRS reports run.
  • Future plan (over which I don't really have a say) is MOSS 2007 with backend on SQL 2008, which will remain to be the SSRS server.  The second SQL server with business data will be migrated to SQL 2008 R2.

Questions: does this architecture requires SSRS 2008 add-in or SSRS 2008 R2 add-in (integrated mode)?  Will there be an issue of building SSRS 2008 reports that go after SQL 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 data mix?

SSRS 2008 Graph Type?

Greetings -

I am required to plot the following graph in an SSRS report.

Sum of Total Credits to be shown on Positive side and total sum of Debits for a month on negative side. I have created a query which retrieves all the expenses for the month and sums them up before feeding the same to the graph for plotting. Both values returned are positive integers.
