"An error occurred during printing. (0x8000405)" eror - reporting services issue

We are getting this error: "An error occurred during printing. (0x8000405)" from time to time - 70% of the time when we are trying to use a printer button within report manager. It happens if we preview report or just print it. We noticed if we restart RS services, the error will stop for a little bit and then starts again. We don't print that much and it will come back after just a few reports printed. Let me know if you had a similar issue. thanks!

Help!!!! Permission issue with Analysis Services on Windows 2008 R2

Hi I'm with a project using Sql Server 2008 on Windows Server 2008 R2. It seems I can not connect to Analysis Services server with SA acount but only with Windows Authentication (The 'Authentication' option is diabled). And when I connect to Analysis Services with my windows acount , I do not have the permission to either create a database (ERROR:Either '***' user does not have the permission to create a new object, or the object does not exist) or grant server privilege to my windows account (ERROR: Only an administrator can make changes to server properties). Also, I failed to remote connect to Analysis Services on Server with my windows account (But I can remote connect to Database engine). Any idea?  Thanks!

Can Web Services be blocked by Central administration ?

I am a Site Collection administrator. I am thinking of using Web Services (_vti_bin/Lists.asmx etc.,) and display some data regarding Lists, Permissions, SubSites on some pages. My question is whether accessing these web services at site level can be blocked by central administration or not. If they cannot be blocked, then I would like to go forward on what I have mentioned above. Can anyone please clarify. Thanks.

Reporting Services Sharepoint Add-in not showing links in Sharepoint Central Administration

Hi. I've just installed RS Sharepoint Add-in on Sharepoint farm and have the issue, that links to configure RS in Sharepoint are not showed in Central Administration Site->Application Management, and RS features can't be activated for web app. My configuration is: A separate DBMS on Windows 2008 SP2 x64, SQL 2008 SP1 x64, with MOSS and RS dbs. Web frontend: Win 2008 SP2 x64, Sharepoint 2007 SP2, RS 2008 SP1. What I did: installed RS and RS Sharepoint Add-in on web frontend, configured RS to Sharepoint mode (http://frontend:portnumber/Reportserver displays reports catalogs, reports shows message about configuring RS to Sharepoint mode), tried to set Sharepoint from central admin - links were not displayed. Reinstalled the add-in and tried to configure again - links not displayed. Reinstalled the add-in from the account used to install MOSS - links not displayed. Please help.

How to resolve Shared Services Provider creation failure?

I would like to ask for support regarding this problem: SSP provisioning will be retried periodically. If you correct the error that caused this failure, provisioning will subsequently succeed. To stop provisioning from being retired, delete the SSP. I'm creating a New SSP & everytime I create, I received that message. I tried to reset the IIS already, restart the machine, but still I received that error after I create a new SSP. Wait for soonest advise!

How Do I Set Server Administration Privileges on Analysis Services Instance (Microsoft SQL Server 20

Hello. I need to do Association Analysis on a company KPI to determine its key influencers - among other things. This is my first attempt ever and I have installed the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Add-Ins for Office 2007. I also have SQL Server 2005 installed on my laptop. I chose the "Use an existing instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services that I administer" and launched the Server Configuration Utility. I am advised that I will need server administrator provileges on the Analysis Services instance that I am about to configure. The defaulted server name is localhost. Indeed I get an error message when I try to advance: "Unable to discover metadata on the server 'localhost'. User 'Maigida-PC\Maigida' needs to be administrator of the server to run the configuration tool" Help me please: How Do I Set Server Administration Privileges on Analysis Services Instance to myself on a local server on my laptop? I need to master DM in Excel 2007. Deep regards.

Access Services report issue

Good afternoon. We have an issue where the canned reports in a Web Assets Database site throw the following error: Report viewer failed to set the report parameter defaults for this report. Select new default parameter values from the tool pane. The report definition is not valid. Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded. (rsInvalidReportDefinition) Actually all web databases (assets, projects, contacts) throw the same error for the canned reports however report services runs without issue on the server. The Web Assets database seems fine outside of the reports and when opened locally in access 2010 the reports run fine. We have one Sharepoint 2010 server with SQL 2008 r2 back end configured in sharepoint integration mode.  Thanks for any assistance you can offer. Cheers!   Cory

SQL Reporting Services Data Connector for Dynamics CRM 4.0 issue

I can't find a Dynamics CRM topic and I'm hoping someone here will recognize the problem that we are having with integration between Dynamics and SRS.

Dynamics CRM server deployed fine. But we are having this problem when trying to install the Dynamics SRS Data Connector (an additional component that is supposed to be installed locally on the SRS server):

Trouble is, the SQL server is a default instance, and SRS is hosted on a default web site listening on port 80. In fact, this is just a plain default install of SQL 2005 and SRS 2005 on one server. Nothing has been customized. And yet we get this error when we try to install SRS Data Connector on the local SRS machine:

"Unable to validate SQL Server Reporting Services Report Server installation. Please check that it is correctly installed on the local machine."

But the SRS is installed and running fine! I can even see and run reports that the Dynamics CRM Server install had created on the SRS server! And yet the setup program insists that SRS is not installed and it won't proceed with installation.

Where is the Office SharePoint Server Shared Services

We want to enable Excel Services on our sharepoint. I think I have to somehow enable Shared Services. I googled, but on all the pages they say: "On the Application Management page, in the Office SharePoint Server Shared Services section, click Create or configure this farm's shared services."

But on our Central Administration site there is no Office Sharepoint Server Shared Services section.

On another page is says: On the SharePoint Central Administration Web Site, Click SharedService1 (in the quick launch part under 'Shared Services Adminsitration'). But this link is not on our Central Administration web site.

I'm logged in als the System Account of the sharepoint. (tfsservice account).

Am I missing something? Or do I have to install something to het Shared Services?

Synchronization for Shared Services Provider 'yyy' has failed. Event ID 5783

Hi all,

Hoping someone can shed some lights on this issue -

I'm getting 5783 application log warning (details below) one in every minute in my WFE. Time job status says Shared Services Provider Synchrorizing Job succeeded on this WFE (xxxWEB01) - but aborted on Application server (xxxAPP - where my CA is running) [see below]. Though there is no 5783 warnings in Application server logs. I also noticed if I disable the "Shared Services Provider Synchrorizing Job" - I don't get the warning on xxxWEB01.

I tried deleting old databases through the Sync STSADM command following this post with no luck.

This is a MOSS 2007 server farm with SP2 applied and 1 WFE, 1 Application server and 1 SQL 2005 server.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advanced!

Shared calendars and Exchange Web Services Managed API

there are many users and their e-mail addresses with calendars in our company. All the calendars are shared with one Exchange account, that means, by logging in with this special account, I can see in OWA all the users' calendars.

My problem is, that when I try to find appoitments of some of the shared calendars using EWS (Exchange Web Services) API, I always get just calendar of that special virtual user (created just for sharing).

Here is what I do:

ExchangeService service = new ExchangeService();

service.Credentials = new NetworkCredentials("myspecialaccount@domain.com", "password");

service.Url = "https://myexchangewebservicesurl";

CalendarFolder folder = CalendarFolder.Bind(service, WellKnownFolderName.Calendar);

now when I call folder.FindAppoitments I get only appoitments (actually I get nothing because the account has no appoitments) of the account I used in credentials, but I want to have an option to choose some of the shared calendar.

Does anyone know how to do that? Thank you very much..
