Posted By:      Posted Date: September 15, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
Hi Experts. I am writing a simple web page that  users can upload an image file. After the file is uploaded, Users can fill up  other question in the web page. then users click the submit button to register them and the file is uploaded previously is move to special folder and is saved there. Know i want to delete the uploaded file if the user upload the file but dont click the submit button and close the web page. because i dont need the file uploaded until the user is not registered. I use Session_End event but i dont know why it dont work. With Regards. Mojtaba

Delete file Asyncronously that is uploaded by AsyncUploader

Suppose after Uploading file,i want to delete a particular file ,for that i have added a link, that calls a Web Service method to delete file stored in DataBase. That link is added throug JavaScript in OnClientUploadComplete JavaScript function. And this Delete link calls another JavaScript function that in turn calls Web Service method. But that delete link should contain some specified arguments against which file has to be deleted. I am confused how to pass that argument to dynamically created Link.

Launch CMD File From ASPX Page

My organization uses a CMD file to install updated files for a major enterprise application. Currently, we send out an email to users with a link to the file and instructions to run it, BUT inevitably users don't update their machines until their in field and try to start the app.

We're now liking the idea of using an ASPX page to prompt the users to run the updates and to capture the fact that the updates have been run. I realize that we can't capture the success or failure of the update. But we'd like to capture the user accessed the page.

Is it possible to embed into the markup for the page a link to the file on the local intranet that the users can click on to run the file?

The user accessing the page would capture that they did just that. We'd deal with wether or not the update was actually installed or if it failed later with them directly.

Page Title from Resource file...

I have Resource file...

I am using following code for Display Lable Text...

<asp:Label ID="lblName" runat="server" Text="<%$ Resources:resource,NAME %>"></asp:Label>

and I want to use that name for page title...

so I used "me.page.resources.resource.NAME" in code behind page.

but I want to use that NAME in

<%@ Page Language="VB"

Extra file is included on the Page directive inherits =

I am trying to understand where the additional file name is coming from in my Page directives Inherits

attribute like so :

inherits ="Track_Milestones2, App_Web_techsrvcs_track_milestones2.aspx.cdcab7d2"

Is the result of this app being published on my local server at one time or could this

page have been compiled on a server ?

Thanks for your insights !

Programmatically delete a .webpart file from wpcatalogs folder from an IIS website

We are using a third party wsp in our solution which directly adds the web parts into the web application store rather than the web part gallery(References to them are present in IIS site's wpcatalog directory). We want to remove these web part files so that the users will not be able to add these web parts to pages directly. Or any other modification so that users will not be able to add these directly. Is there a way we can do this programmatically?

How to get current page file name?

I am trying to get the current page file name that i access to.
Lets say i am at test.aspx page, i want it to return me "test" file name.
I tried to use this.Page.toString(), it returned me "ASP.test_aspx" which is like half correct....
but i would like to get only "test".

2nd question, this.Page.toString() will always return me in a format of ASP.[filename]_[fileextention]?
If that's the case, maybe i can use splilt function to get the file name i want if there aren't any better solution than that.

Consistently running out of page file memory with full text indexer

Using MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 x64 Standard Edtion on Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise, I'm about to full-text index for the first time 1 table and 2 views. The table contains about 250'000 entries with a data space of 180 MB. As soon as I activate the full text indexing, the fdhost.exe task starts to consume slowly but surely all the available page file space (this can be easily watched using the Resource Monitor and the Commit Charge graph on the memory tab). Once all the virtual memory has been consumed, the server becomes unusable since it can't open any new windows any more, and RDP stops working. The machine specs are as follows: 12 GB of RAM 80 GB free on hard disk out of 136 GB 8 CPUs Custom size paging file with sizes between 24 GB - 60 GB (originally, this was system managed size, but then the server ran out of memory sooner) Max SQL server memory set to 6 GB (first 10 GB, then 8 GB) I've set the max fulltext crawl range to 8. During the indexing, the 8 CPUs are bit busy for a while, but not excessively. What is astonishing is that there is almost no use of physical memory during the indexing (I can see an increase from 2 GB to 3 GB which still leaves plenty of RAM available). Does anybody have an idea how I can convince fdhost.exe to consume physical memory and leave the paging memory alone? Or what else can I try?

Read a text file on another server from a web page

How do I read/write a text file on another server from a web page. I get the error "Access to the path '//Server2/mydatafiles/test.txt' is denied". I do not get the error if I am running the browser on the server where the files exist. I think I need to set permissions on the destination server in some way.   Can you help? Thanks

"The file is not checked out" on page Postback

Hi there, I have a Publishing site with the Pages library set to "Require documents to be checked out".  As an administrator or member of the site, when i minimise/restore webparts on my page, then perform a postback operation (via some webpart on my page) i get an error saying:  The file is not checked out.  You must first check out this document before making changes. Its as if during the postback after minimising/restoring a webpart SharePoint wants to save that state! How do I stop this from happening?  Is there a personalization setting i am missing?   P.S. Here is a dummy postback operation if you'd like to test it, just paste it into a CEWP: <a id="Test" href="javascript:__doPostBack('Test','')">Test Postback</a>

Cannot read stream from uploaded file

I have a file upload which uploads a file and gets read into a byte array.int FileLength = File1.PostedFile.ContentLength; if (File1.PostedFile != null && File1.HasFile) { Stream fStream = File1.PostedFile.InputStream; byte[] contents = new byte[fStream.Length]; fStream.Read(contents, 0, (int)fStream.Length); fStream.Close(); fStream.Dispose(); The problem is, the fStream.Read seems to have a problem reading the stream. When I debug it, and the value of "contents" appears to be empty. The file gets uploaded as a corrupted file.

Embedding SWF file in a sharepoint Page

How to delete an image file assigned to a PictureBox xontrol ?

In a Windows form application, some image files are assigned to PictureBox controls. I am trying to delete those image files. The first approach [1] with "Image.FromFile" gives an error message of "Another process is using this image file", although "Image.Dispose()" is executed. The second approach [2] using "Image.FromStream" results (X) images for PictureBoxes and Buttons, if "fs.Close()" is inclided. Without "fs.Close()", it gives the same error message of "Another process is using...". How can I display images properly and delete those images files ? Thanks [1] pictureBoxSelected.Image = Image.FromFile(@actualImage); . . . pictureBoxSelected.Image.Dispose(); pictureBoxSelected.Image = Image.FromFile(@tempImage);                                                if (System.IO.File.Exists(actualImage) == true) {     System.IO.File.Delete(actualImage); } [2] FileStream fs = new FileStream(fileName, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); pictureBox.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(fs); fs.Close();

Linking JS file to ASPX page or content page

Hi, I moved my JS functions into an external file "JScript.js", because I'm now using a master page and a content page. But it doesn't work any more, and I can't find why.I tried simply to link a js file to an ASPX file, by adding to the script manager the path of my script, but it doesn't work. Here is my js file (we don't need any special things in it do we?) var step1 = false; function pageLoad() { var accCtrl = $find('AccordionCtrl_AccordionExtender'); accCtrl.add_selectedIndexChanged(onAccordionPaneChanged); } function hideAccordionPane(paneNo) { ... } function changeSelected(idx) { ... } function onAccordionPaneChanged(sender, eventArgs) { ... } function check() { ... }And here is my ASP code: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %> <%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="cc1" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0
