problems with page refresh

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 15, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
Ok here is the situation.I have an aspx page that 'ticks' using an ASP timer. In the code behind i have told the page that 'ontick' to redirect back to itself but with a different querystring value.The querystring values represent a base for the information (It is a sales page displaying monthly, quarterly and yearly values).The problem I have is that my backend code produces 2 graphs saved as BMP files. The problem I have is that these bmps do not update when the page ticks.All of the information does, but the images don't. I have so far attempted the following to try and irradicate the problemredirecting to another page, and then redirecting back immediately;using Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache) in various (and multiple) placesusing html meta to stop caching.All has currently failed as the pictures do not update. I have tested the actual files themselves and they are updating. So it appears that the page is showing cached data rather than the new image.Any help to get my images to update will be greatly appreciated.Kind Regards

Problems passing parameters to SSRS report from ASP.Net web page

I have a web page that displays some data.   When they click a submit button, I want to run a report.  But I would like to pass the start year/month and end year/month values that the user already entered on the web page to the report.  Here is what my url looks like when the report is displayed: http://xyzserver/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fReports%2fDevicesAllNew&rs:Command=Render&StartYYMM=201007&EndYYMM=201008 But my report displays the 2 textboxes for my StartYYMM and EndYYMM parameters as empty.  What am I doing wrong?  I did a google search and I saw something about using ReportServer instead of ReportManager.  I notice at the top of the browser when I run my report, it reads "Report Manager - Windows Internet Explorer".  Is this correct? Calendar.aspx page Refresh only Once + Java Script

Hi Experts, Following script works perfect (refresh only once after 5 seconds and stops but for some reason if somebody clicks next month then it keeps refreshing for 5 seconds. Can you please put the following code in your calendar.aspx page and check if you can get rid of the continuous refresh if somebody selects next month otherwise it works fine. Please provide the updated script <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8"> <title>Refresh test</title> <script type="text/javascript">   window.onload=function(){     url = window.location.href;     qIndex = url.indexOf("?");     if( qIndex != -1 ){       getData = url.substr(qIndex+1, url.length-1);       if(getData != "refreshed=1"){         refresh();       } else {         myDiv = document.getElementById('content');         myDiv.innerHTML = "This is the second and final time the page loaded.";       }

Page refresh after pop-up

I am trying to set a page to refresh after adding some data to it's underlying database. However, I am also notifying the user that the insertion has been made via a popup window, which is generated by the following code: private void addedPopup() { String strPop = "<script language='javascript'> alert('" + selectedAdNums.Count() + " student(s) added.') </script>"; selectedAdNums.Clear(); ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(strPop.GetType(), "Pop", strPop); }I have tried using Response.Redirect(<pagename>) before and after calling the addedPopup, but both prevent the popup. I also tried using a flag for whether the page needs refreshing or not, checking this flag in the Page_Load method, but due to the page lifecycle this obviously doesn't work.How can I force a page refresh after the popup? The refresh is to update a lists and clear selections.

Refresh certain part of page

Hey Guys. I'm writing an ASP.NET site and I was told to add a graph to one of the pages. The graph must use a third-side DOJO class to draw the graph. I'm having some problem with it. The graph tag looks something like this : <div class="graph" type="dojo.special.graph" datasource="myModel"> where the datasource for that graph is: <div class="Data" type="dojo.special.Datasource" url="myDB.json" id="MyModel">   So, this graph is fueled using the JSON file. The problem is when I want to change the JSON file to another, lets say, insead of "myDB.json" to "myASP_DB.json" problem is that when I change it (using Java Script code...something along  MyModel.url="myASP_DB.json") the graph won't refresh itself, though it's datasource does. I do understand where the problem lays - the tag is created once on pageload, so does the graph, and than it doesn't change (although the model does). What I'm trying to achieve here is that after I will change the url attribute of  "MyModel", the graph tag will refresh itself, thus causing the graph to update. How do you think I might achieve this? and am I assuming correctly that refreshing it will cause the graph to update? Thanks a lot

My Grid is not refreshing like it should. It only refreshes through a hard refresh of the page (F5)

Here is the code. I have Javascript in there that runs after the save button on the ExtJS popup is clicked, that is supposed to  refresh the grid to show the uploaded files, but the grid will SOMETIMES show nothing, and sometimes show the files. It ALWAYS shows  the files after a hard refresh of the page (F5). Why is it doing this? <br/> <br/> <%@ Page Language="VB" Inherits="Web.BaseView(Of Lending.Controllers.Workspace.DocumentUploadData)" %> <%@ Import Namespace="WebControls.Forms" %> <%@ Import Namespace="WebControls.Grids" %> <script runat="server"> </script> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server">     <title></title>     <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">         function RefreshGrid(result, data) {             if (data.responseText.length > 0) {                 var obj = eval('(' + data.responseText + ')');                 if (obj.Result == false) {                     Global.alertError(obj.UserM

Problems with FileUpload _only_ on a second page of wizard

 Hi, I have a wizard wrapped in UpdatePanel.  Second page of the wizard contains FileUpload.  I have a button on the page that causes a full post-back.  The weird thing is that the first post back triggered by the button results in empty FileName of FileUpload on the server side (HasFile is false).  The second and following clicks on the same button work as expected (i.e. FileUpload contains a valid FileName). Also, if I move the FileUpload control to the first wizard page then everything works fine. Could someone please let me know what might be causing this strange behaviour? Thanks. Sample code: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="TestAjax.aspx.cs" Inherits="TestAjax" %><%@ Register assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" tagprefix="asp" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head runat="server">    <title></title></head><body>    <form id="form1" runat="server">    <div>          <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID=&qu

Refresh Parent Page List after Edit Item Modal Dialog Save/Close

I am calling the Edit Item URL (EditForm.aspx?ID=x&IsDlg=1) via javascript code to bring up the Edit Item Modal Dialog. This works fine and dandy. But what callbackfunction should I invoke after the Save so that the parent list is refreshed? Is there a better way to do it than call reload on the entire parent frame? It almost looks like there should be a way to refresh just the list. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Jake.
