I have created an out of box Approval workflow in SharePoint 2010. I am receiving email with below information
Task assigned by Chinna Malipedu on 10/7/2010.
Due by 1/1/0001
Approval started by Chinna Malipedu on 10/7/2010 11:43 AM
To complete this task:
1. Review SharePoint2010.
2. Perform the specific activities required for this task.
3. Use the Open this task button to mark the task as completed. (If you cannot update this task, you might not have access to it.)
But I need to go to Workflow Task List by clicking 3 item "Use the Open this Task" , this is not a link here
or I want like "Edit this task to mark the task as completed." Edit this task should link to Task List
How to do this? do i missing any configuration?

I have a a list that recieves email. I have few fields that shows me the originator: "E-Mail From" and "E-Mail Sender".
I am trying to create a workflow that will generate an auto reply to the originator but the SPD fails to recognize the email address in these two fields. It's either truncating part of it or uses the html ( href=mailto:Demo@DemoSomething.com) in
the To field.
I am having a simple OOTB approval worflow associated to the simple document library. Task is created when an document is uploaded to the library. When I click the task item in task list, I see a blank field "Requested By" right below the
"Status" column and I am unable to understand from where this field is coming and how to populate this field. Any help would be great...
Is this is possible to make html format Email alerts in SharePoint designer 2010??
With SharePoint 2007 list item display form is openned in broswer and user can either copy and paste the url and send the link by email or use the browser's "Page" button and click "Send the link by email" to send the link.
With SharePoint 2010 list item display form is openned in a dialog box, the browser doesn't show the list item url and the browser's "Page" button's "Send the link by email" just sends a link to the list not the list item.
We don't want to diable the dialog box either. Please help.
When I am clicking on "Open this task" link in outlook 2010 i am getting error as "Access to the floowing form required". Please help me out to resolve the issue..

So I wanted to create a workflow for a list I have already created in Sharepoint. The list is an "Issue Tracking" list. When I add an item to the list, and then modify that item, I am notified by email that changes have been made to
this item. But when my workflow includes the "Send an Email" action in Sharepoint Designer, the workflow results include the message:
The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly.
I first thought it was the workflow and how it was looking up the email address to send to from variables in the workflow. But then I changed it all the way down to simply being the single step: "Send an Email" and the email address is hard
coded in the properties with my email address. Since I get the notifications that changes have been made to the items in the list, I wanted to beleive that it was something else. But I checked into the log file that was suggested on another thread
here, and found an error when I searched the log for "SMTP:"
#160002: Cannot connect to SMTP host 'mail.xxxxxxxxx.com'. a84dc162-7c30-43a1-b58e-ae5bc81a6a95
I x'd out my full domain, but this is the error in the log.
I have created a oob approval workflow and upon requirement, need to assign the task to a group of people, so created a SharePoint group under that site and selected this group under approvers. Selected assign single task to each group entered (do not expand
groups) as this is what I need exactly. One person in that group is going to approve the task and the remaining members will work as backups that means for some reason the first person is not available for approval any one from the rest of the group will claim
the task. When I test this, SharePoint is sending the first email stating workflow has been started and then another mail with the task to approve and the final email saying workflow is completed after completion of all tasks. These 3 emails are expected until
now, but sharepoint is also sending two more additional emails even after completion of the task saying 'Task has been changed' to all the members in the group, these two are not needed in any way as workflow has already been finished. Not sure why these additional
email alerts are triggering. Users will be annoyed to see all these unnecessary alerts if this is how it works.
Any idea on how to fix this?
I have sharepoint approval workflow on Moss2007. Windows XP users are able to approve the task from their outlook. But in windows 7, outlook would not open the task edit form at all and no error message either.
is there anything need to be turned off/on in windows 7 outlook in order to approve an item fro
Hi all ,
I have a situation where in I need to create a sharepoint workflow for Infopath Form Library to send out emails. But the condition is a little tricky. I need to send out one email only on 1st of every month consisting of single link or mulitple link for
infopath records submitted for the person. Basically if somebody submitted 3 infopath forms for me in March, on 1st of April I should get one email notification with a summary of all 3 forms. Is this possible. If yes how?
Environment is WSS 3.0 wih Infopath 2007
