Config Database check?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :SharePoint
Is there a way to tell SharePoint 2010 to physically check the content in the configuration database to insure all the tables and records are correct? Not a database file check, I mean check what is actually in the database? We are experiencing an error that seems noone else is getting and we are only getting it on 1 page within the Central Administration Site. (http://*/_admin/ManagedAccounts.aspx). We have already tried removing and reinstalling the central administration site. Only thing left is possible bad data within the database itself.Owner, Quilnet Solutions

How to check if record is added in access database

I'm trying to put a registration page together in Visual Web Designer.

I would like to send a confirmation Email after someone is leaving his registration data and pressing the INSERT button.

The key fields in my database are: Email, Name, Surname, Address

Before I send the confirmation Email I would like to check if the email value entered in the form is realy added to the database.

Please for help in this matter. I was copy past already some C code in my page, therefore it will be fine if the code can be in C.

Again, I need help to:

- checking if record is realy added to database after pressing INSERT button

- setup the confirmation Email

Thank you in advance.

Use Database.Open for ConnectionString from web.config

This is an FYI - I am not looking for a solution:As mentioned in this tutorial (http://www.asp.net/webmatrix/tutorials/5-working-with-data), I tried using my own connectionstring from web.config. I got this error: "Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index 0."The tutorial suggests to use: Database.OpenConnectionString("SmallBakeryConnectionString") method Instead you should use Database.Open("ConnectionStringName").Ref: http://cytanium.com/forums/yaf_postsm18_Connection-string-problem.aspxThe API Document is missing Database.Open method and also Database.OpenConnectionString info needs to be modified.

Attaching the Config Database in SharePoint 2007 with STSADM

Hello, We've moved our MOSS 2007 dev environment SQL database to a new server and we're having trouble attaching the config database to SharePoint using stsadm so we can access central admin. Here is the command we're running: stsadm -o setconfigdb -connect -databaseserver kraspsqltest\mosstest -databasename wss_config -farmuser "farmaccountname" -farmpassword "farmpassword" When I run this command (obviously with the correct username and password), the only message I see is: Access denied. I've checked with our DBA and nothing on his end is blocking the command. I do see the following in the event log where the command is being run: "Unknown SQL Exception 10061 occured. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below. A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)" I've also noticed the folder containing the web.config file in IIS is no longer present on the MOSS server. Is this deleted when the config database is detached and added back when reattached? This server was working just fine prior to the database move

Stuck installing Sharepoint 2010 - Config Wizard saying Cannot connect to database master

Hi all

I have setup 2 servers in hyper-v.
SERVER-SHP = Sharepoint 2010
both running on windows server 2008 R2.
Both servers are joined to the same domain, have fixed ip addresses and can ping each other.

When I get to the part in Sharepoint 2010 setup where I'm runnng "Sharepoint Products Configuration Wizard" where I specify the database server and name and username and password I get the following error which I can't get past "Cannot connect to database master at SQL server at SERVER-SQL. The database might not exist, or the current user does not have permission to connect to it."

I have read the following link and followed it but the problem remains

I don't see where it is falling over as the username and password is the domain administrator one (have also tried the spAdmin) mentioned to setup in the above link. And it says at the notes at the top of the page that if the database (SharePoint_Co

Convert user.config to database storage via my custom settings provider

I've created my own custom settings provider to save user settings (formerly in the user.config) to a database. To point the particular settings that are to be saved to the database I specified

for each property to point to the BlobSettingsProvider instead of allowing them to default to the LocalFileSettingsProvider.
Now I need to convert existing user.configs to save to the database on the fly - a one time conversion. Because I've now specified the properties to use the BlobSettings provider they can no longer access the local user.config.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how best to accomplish this conversion (i.e. read the local user.config and populate the BlobSettingsProvider). The app can be run as a ClickOnce installed app or as a simple .net app - finding the correct local user.config looks to be a problem.
Thoughts, ideas,...?

C# How to check prammatically if null value exists in database table (using stored procedure)?

How to programattically check if null value exists in database table (using stored procedure)?

I know it's possble in the Query Analyzer (see last SQL query batch statements)?

But how can I pass null value as parameter to the database stored procedure programattically using C#?

Although I can check for empty column (the following code passes string.Empty as parameter but how to pass null value?), I cannot check for null value in the following code snippet:

script to check the database size

I work with Microsoft SQL Server Workgroup Edition 2008 and I would like to know if there is a script to check the database size.

I need something like ‘give databasename’ and return the database size.
Can I do this via a vbscript?

Background info:
Different departments one SQL Server.
Every department has one or more databases on the SQL Server.
Department managers are billed per GB in use.
Department managers require a script to check the database size without using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio or any other console. Just a shortcut on their desktop.

Let me know if you need more information.
Thank you,
