MassMailer from Profiles

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net
I have a checkbox setup so when a user registers, they can click the box if they wish to receive a newsletter. So, now I'm trying to figure out how to use that to email those users who have that checkbox checked in their profile.I setup a class to gather the email addresses from the profiles. It may not be the correct way, but it seems to generate the email addresses:public class CovenantEmailClass { public CovenantEmailClass() { // TODO: Add constructor logic here } public DataTable GetUsers() { MembershipUserCollection UserCollection = Membership.GetAllUsers(); DataTable dt = new DataTable("Users"); dt.Columns.Add("Email", typeof(string)); dt.Columns.Add("RulesCheckBox", typeof(Boolean)); foreach (MembershipUser user in UserCollection) { DataRow dr = dt.NewRow(); ProfileCommon profile = new ProfileCommon(); if (profile.GetProfile(user.UserName).RulesCheckBox == true) { dr["Email"] = user.Email; } else { } dt.Rows.Add(dr); } dt.AcceptChanges(); dt = dt.DefaultView.ToTable(); return dt; } }Now, I don't know what to replace the datasource in this code to get the data (email addr

How to fill out a form as another user , while using profiles database

I have created an InfoPath 2007 form. It works great.. I have 5 data connections to sharepoint lists and profile's database. The form displays public data (profile database) about the user, such as name, manager.. etc.

What I would like to do is have an option on the form that says " If you are not this person , click here" , manually type the persons last name , and bring up their information.

Basically , there are some people who will have someone else fill the form out for them. But I don't want them to be giving out their username and password to the system.

I want the ability to fill out a form as another user without logging off sharepoint.

BDC User Profiles

HI I have a database table which has three columns "username", "certificate" and "date_objected". One employee have multiple certificates.

in the User Profiles I want to mapped with username and display all certifcates that this employee have.

Anyone have any suggestions/samples on how to do this? I was able to display one-to-one fields but I am stuck with one employee to display multiple rows.

Any good samples out there?

Why my BDC is not importing new profiles from DB table?

I have 72000 profiles records in SSP profiles database. I connected this BDC with SQL table. SQL table has 81000 records. When I do full Import it is importing only 72000 records only, not complete 81000 records. How to get them into SSP?

Crawler fails to register date properties of user profiles with the month of January, April, August

This seems to be a bug when the crawler search the user profiles in MOSS 2007.  When crawled, user profiles with a SPS-HireDate in the months of January, April, August and December will be detected, but a full-text (SQL) search returns those profiles without the HireDate field.

User profiles with HireDates in other months work correctly, returning the HireDate in the search.  And changing the month of a problematic user profile also fixes the problem.

This problem is also reflected in the fact that while we have 499 user profiles using the SPS-HireDate property,  the managed property page from the search section only has 350 items with the HireDate property.

We're running MOSS 2007 32bit with SP2 with an English language base and the Spanish language pack. I'd considered date format problems, but I can't imagine how some months would work, while others wouldn't.

Any ideas?

Not able to change the Agnet profiles

Hi, I have transaction replication configured on SQL 2K8 R2 machines. Replication streams are going from multiple publisher tp multiple subscribers(pull and push) all these are using a single remote distributor. After couple of test efforts we came with desired values for agent profile parameters; and created some custom Replication Agent profiles (snapshot/Logreader/distribution) for each and every replication stream.  Now, I am not able to change the replication Agent profile through replication monitor. After selecting the desired agent aginst check box in "Use for this Agent" column, its going back to old Agent profiles. It’s happening with only one or two replication steam in the remote distributor. Can you please let me know whats wrong in it? ThanksJyothi

User Profiles Service Application and Import of SharePoint 2007 SSP data

I have setup a test SharePoint 2010 Farm. I will be using this as a test upgrade of a current live SharePoint 2007 Farm. The database attach method will be used. I have replicated the web application and AAM settings of the SharePoint 2007 Farm to the SharePoint 2010 Farm and have made the 2010 Farm a DC in a new Forest. I don't want to join this to the current domain at the moment. It also has SQL server 2005 with SP3 and cumulative update 3 installed. I have just setup the User Profiles Serice Application and when I go to Manage it, I get this. Error An unexpected error has occurred.   Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation. Correlation ID: a1760e87-372f-4711-afac-3ceba34bc599 Date and Time: 8/31/2010 4:22:56 PM I have verified and configured the following. Created the Managed Metadata Service. The status is started via Service Applications and Services on Server. Created the User Profiles Service Application and ensured status is started via Service Applications. I started the User Profile Service and User Profile Synchronisation Service via Manage Services on Server.

SharePoint 2010 Server: Cannot manage all user profiles from upgraded MOSS SSP database

I have upgraded an SSP database to SharePoint 2010 and successfully performed User Profile Synchronization with Active Directory, however I cannot manage ALL of the user profiles in the database. I go to "Manage User Profiles" in Central Administration and perform a filtered search (i.e. I want all DOMAIN accounts beginning with "j" so I search for "DOMAIN\j" in Manage User Profiles), but I don't receive ALL the user profiles back. I receive about 8 in return when I know there are about 20 starting with "j". If I create a new AD account beginning with "j" it is successfully synched with SharePoint 2010 and I see it in the Manage User Profiles. I ran an stsadm -o sync to clear any old synchronization information, and the Forefront Synchronization Service appeared to pull in many changes to existing accounts (including ones I can't currently manage), but I still cannot manage them using "Manage User Profiles". I really need to be able to manage all the profiles so I can manually edit some fields. Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance.

New SP 2010 Installation - Can't Get User Profiles / Outlook / My Site stuff working.

Hello,   I have a new SP 2010 Installation. I did NOT set it up in Standalone mode. My users can log in and create their own My Sites. They can edit them, add content, etc. When using Outlook 2010, they add one another in the People Pane. It shows up under My Site > My colleagues that they are connected. However, in Outlook, the MySite icon in the People Pane has a red X on it. I thought that User Profile Sync Service might be the culprit after reading through various blogs. However, if I go to Central Administration > Manage Profile Service : User Profile Service Application... if I click Configure Synchronization Connections, the page comes up - "The query returns nothing." I try to click "Create New Connection"... I get an error message - Cannot navigate to the requested page while User Profile Synchronization is running. Please wait for the current Synchronization to finish.   OK - I thought that the query returned no results. I don't see the service running... can someone point me in the right direction?

User Profiles Error - Failure trying to synch web application... No User Profile Application availab

Hyphens in domain names get trimmed from account names in user profiles

We've been trying to launch an internal deployment of SharePoint 2010 MySites but we've run in to a problem with the user profile import. We've reviewed all of the relevant guidance and have been able to complete an import successfully, but all of the characters before a hyphen in our domain name are getting truncated from the imported username. To illustrate:   PREFIX-BLAH\tristan.watkins becomes BLAH\tristan.watkins after it is imported. When I log in, a new user profile is created for PREFIX-BLAH\tristan.watkins and all of the imported profile data is useless, since it is associated with a non-existent BLAH\tristan.watkins.   I'm assuming this is an issue with the beta version of Forefront Identity Manager 2010 that shipped with SharePoint 2010 beta, but I can't find any information suggesting this is a known issue and for all I know it may actually be a SharePoint issue rather than a problem with FIM. For what it's worth, this was not a problem in SharePoint 2007. Can anyone help?

Sharepoint user profiles in C:\Documents and Settings on server, WSS_AdminService.log

Hi!I've discovered today that desktop user profiles for certain sharepoint users are being created on the server in the Documents and Settings folder. Only 50 have been created - a small portion of our user base; Every folder is being created with a WSS_AdminService.log file in it, which is approx 380 mb in size...its definitly starting to take its toll on storage space.I can't see any pattern as to why a folder is created for a particular user or not.Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this, or how to control it? Thanks so much!Z

Sharepoint 2010 User profiles

I am having a tough time accessing the _layouts directory which exists in the hive 14 folder through SPD. Any other possible way to disable this? Pls let me know. ThanksJunior in C#

Possible to create sub-profiles?

I have my profiles system setup where users add their First Name, Last Name, Street Address..etc and it all gets displayed into a page of the site as a directory list of users (to show their contact information for other users of the site...sort of like a phone book). I have it setup so no one can enter a duplicate street address when they register, so only one person per household can register.  Now the client says they want each user to be able to create sub-profiles, so there's a main account for each household, but they want that user to be able to add sub-profiles to their account, so they can add family members profiles that will also get listed in the site directory with the registered users of the site.  I'm not even sure where to start on this, as I haven't found any asp.net examples of this online.  Has anyone done anything like this and can offer me advice?
