Posting of form from Iframe no go..

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Why is it not possible to post my form from an iframe ? The form in the iframe is the same as the form outside the iframe.  I have put in the EnvableEvent Validation="true". It is not working.  <%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" EnableEventValidation="true" CodeFile="adv_links_addbycustomer.aspx.vb" Inherits="users_adv_links_addbycustomer" title="" %> <html> <head runat="server"> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript"> function copy() { var sel = document.getElementById("DropDownList1"); var text = sel.options[sel.selectedIndex].value; // Assigning selected value of DropDownList to a hidden TextArea holdtext.innerText = text; // Creating text range from hidden TextArea's content CopiedTxt = holdtext.createTextRange(); // Copying the text range to clipboard CopiedTxt.execCommand("Copy"); // out = parent.document.getElementById("web_recip"); out = document.getElementById("Textbox6"); out.value = text + "\n"; window.open(text);

Javascript to pass var in iframe to parent form

Why doesn't this form work when the button is clicked? It is inside an iframe. I sent the controls to an iframe from  a different website. When I hover my mouse over the Resubmit button, I can see the correct url in my browser bar. (lower left) This is the same one as the save button. Does the fact that the Resbmit button is in an iframe create a problem?  Is this a security issue?   I was trying to use the Copy url to clipboard button to copy the selected url in the dropdown to the clipboard. Then the user could paste it into the Recipcocal url field in the form and click the Save button again. (see picture) The form is on the page with the iframe. The copy button doesn't work either.  <form name="ctl01" method="post" action="http://www.link-exchangers.com/adv_links_addbycustomer.aspx" id="ctl01" target="hdnFrm"> <div> <input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" id="__VIEWSTATE" value="/wEPDwUaUXIyTcD6f05q0zIbv4QVbpto4s=" /> </div> <div> <input type="hidden" name="__EVENTVALIDATION" id="__EVENTVALIDATION" value="//2DwKU+M6MDwK8m8+dCQKy8rjSBwLD+aWMBALcwYfHCALrp+eHDwKggI3ODAKvtqqBBgKjs8y4CAKqiLHeDgK34agCBNfAteTeI3XoiXVXjCs/J0yEnNM=" /> </div>

Form in iframe doesn't work.

I have put a form into an iframe. It is sent from another website to the php page on the site which has the iframe. Upon clicking the submit button nothing happens. Just a quick flash of the green page load bar. Why is this happening? I have spend hours on this...<%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" EnableEventValidation="true" CodeFile="adv_links_addbycustomer.aspx.vb" Inherits="users_adv_links_addbycustomer" title="" %> <html> <head runat="server"> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript"> function copy() { var sel = document.getElementById("DropDownList1"); var text = sel.options[sel.selectedIndex].value; // Assigning selected value of DropDownList to a hidden TextArea holdtext.innerText = text; // Creating text range from hidden TextArea's content CopiedTxt = holdtext.createTextRange(); // Copying the text range to clipboard CopiedTxt.execCommand("Copy"); // out = parent.document.getElementById("web_recip"); out = document.getElementById("Textbox6"); out.value = text + "

Posting form data and receiving a response

Hey everyone,I have an application that needs to post data to a url on the web and then receive an xml response.  I have an HTML form (provided by vendor) that posts the data correctly, however when clicking the submit button the page is redirected to the post url and the xml is displayed in the browser.  I need to do this on a postback within an existing asp.net project.  Basically, the user will fill out the form, the form data will post to the url, the xml response will be received, and the appropriate values will be displayed on the screen. I've found a bunch of examples for doing this but I just can't seem to get my head around it.  Can anyone point me in the right direction or explain how I should go about this?  Thanks for your help!Will

JQuery Validate plugin to validate a ASP.NET Form

How to use getElementById to get the elements in a form

There are many ways of accessing form elements, of which the easiest is by using the cross-browser W3C DOM document.getElementById method. Before we learn more about this method, it would be useful to know something about the Document Object Model (DOM), the concept of HTML nodes or elements, and the concept of containers.

Each time you load an HTML page, the web browser generates an internal representation of the page in the form of an inverted tree structure. Let us look at a simple form. We will use this form later to demonstrate the use of the getElementById method.

form feild hints are not displaying for textboxses inside create user wizard?

Hi,

I'm using following JS code to display input hint box besides the textbox whenever that asp.net textbox receives focus.

I'm doing this for a registration form and all of the textboxes are inside the asp.net create user wizard control.

<script type="text/javascript">
function addLoadEvent(func) {
  var oldonload = window.onload;
  if (typeof window.onload != 'function') {
    window.onload = func;
  } else {
    window.onload = function() {
      oldonload();
      func();
    }
  }
}

function prepareInputsForHints() {
	var inputs = document.getElementsByTagName("TextBox");
	for (var i=0; i<inputs.length; i++){
		// test to see if the hint span exists first
		if (inputs[i].parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0]) {
			// the span exists! on focus, show the hint
			inputs[i].onfocus = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "inline";
			}
			// when the cursor moves away from the field, hide the hint
			inputs[i].onblur = function () {
				this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("span")[0].style.display = "none";
			}
		}
	}
addLoadEvent(prepareInputsForHints);
</script>
span.

Problems posting to a package

Hey Y'all

I'm currently creating a program that accesses a mysql package to add data to a few tables.  I'm currently getting an error that says  "

ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at "JESSE.PKG_WORKPLAN", line 42
ORA-06512: at "JESSE.PKG_WORKPLAN", line 177
ORA-06512: at line 1

"

These lines are

42: INSERT INTO WP_PROJECTS_USERS (PROJECT_USERS_ID, FIELD_UNIT_ID, PROJECT_ID, USER_ID, START_DATE, DESCRIPTION)

and 177:add_team_members(V_PROJECT_ID, V_START_DATE, v_FISC_YEAR, V_MEMBERS ,V_NUM_MEMBERS,'add');

Checking these variables in my asp.net page they are all receiving parameters.

Is there a  way to see what the database is actually receiving from the asp.net page?

Or is there another thing to be looking at?

Thanks!

Validate form input - Japanese

 I've searched for several hours and haven't come up with a reference - or even many discussions - of how to go about validating Japanese names, addresses, etc. When I lived in Japan websites, atm's etc. required such info to be entered with the roman alphabet but I've seen some websites that are allowing Kanji/Hiragana/Katakana. I haven't tested many of them for validation but one that I did test (after looking at the page source and discovering no client-side validation) allowed me to put this in the name field: J*=123*go^ Neat!

Any pointers/references? Thanks

Posting data to ASMX and return Object for jQuery

I am using fluent NHibernate with WebForms and I am trying to build a page where I allow a user to post a status update on their profile page and I a using a .asmx WebService to post the data to the database and then returnig a StatusUpdate instance to the page to be used by jQuery. I have a couple problems.

1) First off when I return a string from the WebService(i was testing) the textbox where the user enters their status doesnt empty the contents. And since the page doesnt refresh even if I manally clear out the textbox and put in something else, it still posts the previous status to the database again. How do I fix this?

2) Secondly, when I return the StatusUpdate Object from the Webservice I cant the results to display anything. Like I sad, Im using jQuery to make an AJX call to the WebService.

Here is my code:

User Profile Page:

<p>
Status: <asp:Label ID="status" runat="server"></asp:Label><span style="font-size:.7em;"><asp:Label ID="statustime" runat="server"></asp:Label></span><br />
<textarea id="statusBox" rows="3" cols="40"></textarea><br />
<input type="button" value="Update Status" onclick="SetStatus(); return false;
