Does GRANT exist in SQL CE 3.5?

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 14, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
Hi. I wondered if the GRANT command works in SQL CE 3.5 Within the MSDN the GRANT command is listed as reserved word but when i try to execute a command like "GRANT SELECT ON mytable" i get this error: There was an error parsing the query. [ Token line number = 1,Token line offset = 1,Token in error = grant ] So it obviously does not work. My thought was that a CE database does not need this because it works different and i couldn't find any information about the GRANT command and CE anywhere on the internet. Now I am in a situation where my code creates a table and makes a SELECT on it right afterwards and i get an error when I call CreateAccessor() (I am using OLEDB) which normally works. But there is no problem when i execute the same command via SQL Server Management Studio. Am i doing anything wrong?

Fix: The type or namespace name 'EntityDataSource' does not exist

Today's stupid mistake had me going in circles in my Web application project. The error message was: The type or namespace name 'EntityDataSource' does not exist. As the rest of the error message suggests, I must be missing an assembly reference. Nope, I'd already added in the references to Entity : System.Data.Entity System.Data.Entity.Design After much frustration until after 1 a.m., I gave up and went to bed. This morning I realized that what it wanted was the WEB Entity! System. Web .Entity System...(read more)

SPGridView Not Appearing When Rows Exist

I have added the contents of a DataTable to an SPGridView control.  When there are no rows in the DataTable it shows the message "There Is No Data" which is correct.

When there are rows in the DataTable the SPGridView does not appear at all.

What could the issue be?

The code is below:

DataTable gridTable = new DataTable();
gridTable.Columns.Add("Assigned To");

queryDPM.ViewFields = "<FieldRef Name='AssignedTo'/>" +
					  "<FieldRef Name='RequestDPMReviewerComments' />" +
					  "<FieldRef Name='WorkflowOutcome' />";

sQueryStr = "<Where>" +
				 "<And>" +
					"<IsNotNull>" +
					 "<FieldRef Name='RequestDPMReviewerComments' />" +

Hey guys,

I've got a literal control to display the username of the user logged into our companies intranet system, originally I had a LoginName control but couldn't get strip to remove the domain from the username (as the format is domainname\username) so I'm trying it this way.

    protected void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
        string[] Parts = User.Identity.Name.Split("\\");

        if (Parts.Length == 2)
            loginName.Text = Parts[1];
            loginName.Text = User.Identity.Name;

    protected void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
        string[] Parts = User.Identity.Name.Split("\\");

the type name ... does not exist in the type xyz

I wrote a custom activity and compiled it. It showed up in the toolbox perfect. I can select it and drag it into my WF, and I start to get excited. But, when I compile the workflow, I get the "type does not exist" error message. "The type name 'AuthenticateTaxReturnActivity' does not exist in the type 'AuthenticateTaxReturnActivity.AuthenticateTaxReturnActivity'" How come it can't resove the activity at compile time, but does just fine at design time? Hi Guys, The subject of this question is the error which I am receiving when running a scheduled job also this is an error which we get at a random intervals and the frequency would be once or twice in a month. I have been through several posts and didn't concluded anything out of it. At the time when we receive this error the memory usage of the database was normal with free resources available and also the network was stable without issues. Our Sql database is in cluster mode with named instance. Can anyone share some information on this, I know this is not the right forum with the error message I have posted but am sure some one might have face the same problem when running some ETL jobs. Source and target both are sql server and the error message is generated in the validation phase of the connection manager connecting to target database. SSIS 2005 SP2 64 bit environmentRaju

Hello All,   We are facing an error in our MOSS 2007 internet site.   We are unable to access the root site ,however all other site collections created using manged path under the root site are accessible.   The home page of the root site i.e http://servername/pages/default.aspx  navigates to custom error page , where as application pages like settings.aspx ,viewlsts.aspx throw below mentioned error   "List does not exist  The page you selected contains a list that does not exist.  It may have been deleted by another user" As a workaround , we tried restoring the rootsite from back up file (.dat) ,but we get the same error (mentioned above).   Content database is very much present and database server has good enough memory.   Any suggestions for this would be of great help.

How to make Hidden Fields appear on every other page when there are other data regions exist on the

Dev Environment: Visual Studio 2008 Client reporting(.rdlc) I have a client report with one hidden field and one table. The data for the hidden field come from one dataset and the data for the table comes from another dataset. Since there is huge data on the report, the table data spans multiple pages. at the same time i want the hidden field to appear on every other page along with table. i'm using these hidden for report header purposes. As an alternative i have used hidden parameters instead of Hidden Fields. Are there any alternatives other than this ? -- Praveen

The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System'

I run my website : www.qenglishcenter.com and I'm getting an error : The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?) shouldn't System.linq be already existed ? Thanks for any reply.

Best Way to Insert Row that May Exist

I'm writing a stored procedure to insert a row. However, the row may already exist, in which case I don't need to do anything. My hunch is that checking to see if the row already exists is a waste of time and that I'm better to just insert the row and suppress any errors. Does that logic make sense? And how best to suppress errors?   Thanks.Jonathan Wood • SoftCircuits • Developer Blog
