How to fill out a form as another user , while using profiles database

I have created an InfoPath 2007 form. It works great.. I have 5 data connections to sharepoint lists and profile's database. The form displays public data (profile database) about the user, such as name, manager.. etc.

What I would like to do is have an option on the form that says " If you are not this person , click here" , manually type the persons last name , and bring up their information.

Basically , there are some people who will have someone else fill the form out for them. But I don't want them to be giving out their username and password to the system.

I want the ability to fill out a form as another user without logging off sharepoint.

Library - Fill Columns with data from email

I have an inbound email enabled Library.  The Library has several columns created for it.  I would like to be able to send an email into the Library and have these columns filled from information in the email.  Is this possible using WSS 3.0?  What are the basic steps?  If I understand SharePoint well enough, I'm guessing is that I have to include the columns as Metadata in the body of the email and then assign this Metadata to the appropriate Library columns when new email is uploaded to the Library.

AdomdDataAdapter.Fill returns memory error when querying an SSAS Cube(2008)

For certain SQL's I will get the following error when calling the Fill method on an AdomdDataAdapter object. "Memory error: While attempting to store a string, a string was found that was larger than the page size selected. The operation cannot be completed."   Snippet of Code: DataSet ds1 = new DataSet(); AdomdCommand acmd1 = cn1.CreateCommand(); acmd1.CommandText = "SELECT ..."; AdomdDataAdapter ad1 = new AdomdDataAdapter(acmd1); ad1.Fill(ds1);   Now when we run this query in Ms Sql Studio we don't get any errors but the query returns 1 row with over 40,000 columns. I'm guessing the # of columns might be an issue but not sure.   When doing a Google search it appears that this problem was found in the 2005 and fixed in that version. Have any of you come across this problem?

Enhance SSAS so that a calculation returns multiple cells at once (Excel fill not a single cell but

I wonder if somebody can help me with the following question. I would like to create an enhancement to SSAS in a way so that one can pass in multiple values, run a calculation and in return retrieves not one but multiple cell results at the same time e.g. retSet = functionABC(inSET) where inSet is somthing like 5 4 3 6 7 3 4 4 AND retSet is 4 6 7 8 9 3 4 4 All my calculated members in MDX return a single value BUT I need to have a calculation that if called returns multiple results (a set) at once and in a way so that Excel will properly pick up on it and consequently fills multiple cells in the Pivot table. Is that possible at all and if so how? I would not mind to write a little CLR assembly to enhance the SSAS but don't know how to pass the results back. Any ideas are highly appreciated. Dirk

Form Action Button to pass parameters through URL and how to fill a NewForm with them

Hi I'm trying to solve a bigger problem we have in babysteps, and I guess after days of searching and trying I simply need to ask for help. The big picture is, that we're trying to put a Form Action Button (via Sharepoint Designer 2007) above a custom DataForm DispForm.aspx which is supposed to navigate to a NewForm.aspx where the Title Field is supposed to be prefilled with a parameter from the DispForm and the user should be able to add information to the item before it is saved. I found several explanations from people on the internet, but nothing really worked. The first babystep would be to get the parameter through the button into the url of the new item.   < input type = "button" value = "Zugriff Beantragen" name = "btnFormAction0" onclick = "javascript: {ddwrt:GenFireServerEvent('__redirect={../Zugriff Beantragen 2/NewForm2.aspx?test={ItemID}')}" />   That's the code for my button. Somebody wrote that should definitely work because SharePoint is able to replace {ItemID} with the actual ID of the item. Well.... it kind of doesn't. What I get as the end of the new URL is exactly "...?test={ItemID}"   I tried with different names for the ID, I added an @ before those ... no change. I read somewhere about javascript.functionName() which should work with all parameters of the item, but

Fill person/group column with workflow

Hi all, I would like to retrieve the 'Department' value of the creator of a list-item. Therefore I created a column named 'Department' of type person/group, show field 'department' From a worflow created with SharePoint Designer, when a item is added to the list, I fill the column 'Department' with the field 'created by'. The result is that the column 'Department' nicely displays the Department of the creator of the added item. When I do the same for a library, the column Department don't get filled, and the workflow keeps the state 'Started'. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Kind regards. #Update When I add a new document te the library, the column 'Department' stay's empty and the workflow keeps the status 'Starting' But when I save a new document, open it again, edit it and save it again, the column 'Department' shows the department of the creator !!

Hi, Maybe the question has already be posted, but I didn't find it.I have in my web page two controls: a dropdownlist and a listboxMy goal is to fill the listbox with values from my database depending on what I have selected in my dropdownlist.I wouldlike to use the CascadingDropDown component for that. How to fill data from a login to a Formview?

I don't know how to do this. I'm using MySql as a database. Cannot fill-in Word 2003 fill-in form accessed through SharePoint (WSS 3.0) after installing Word 20

We are experiencing problems when opening a fill-in form designed in Word 2003 accessed through a SharePoint (WSS 3.0) document library after installing Word 2007.  Prior to upgrade to Word 2007, the user could open the file in read-only mode, fill-in the fields and without saving the data, print or email the completed form.  Now, in order to be able to fill-in the fields, it appears they must have SharePoint permissions set to "contribute" so that they can "Edit" the file, fill-in the fields, print or email, and then close the file and specifically indicate they do not want to save changes.  Needing advice as this changes our security in SharePoint and adds extra steps for users.  Thanks.

User Data from database...can't fill ddl on PageLoad because of DataBound

I have a database where a user inputs data to multiple databound drop down listboxes.  That's saved to my aspnet database.  Then when the page loads again, I want to select the ddls items that the user selected as stored in the database to these databound ddls.  But it doesn't work, because on pageload, they haven't been databound yet. What's the best way to do this?  Do I need to run a SELECT statement for each and every ddl on it's databound event???

How to fill a formview at page_load?

Timeout when calling SqlDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet)

This issue has stumped me for a while.  Hopefully someone here can give me some insight. When my site runs the following code it works just fine 99% of the time. Dim sda As New Data.SqlClient.SqlDataAdapter(cmd) Dim ds As New Data.DataSet Try sda.Fill(ds) Catch ex As Exception ... The command is calling a SQL Server 2005 stored procedure that takes 20 parameters and returns 6 tables of about 5-50 rows each. The paramters are all NVARCHAR, INT, or BIT data types.  Only one of the parameters is Input/Output. There is a total of about 100 rows returned. Normally this takes a fraction of a second, but for some queries, it times out after 30 seconds. When I run the exact same query in the Management Studio query window it takes 1 second. Any idea what I can do to get the same performance from .Net as I am getting from Management Studio?

how to auto-fill and populate a repeating table from other sources?

I have a repeating table and users will enter values to a column. With the column, I would like to auto-generate a list of checkboxes for user to check in another place on the form (any control?)? Seems in Infopath, you can not loop a list; and you can not insert item with actions to a repeating table?

Dynamic Fill-in Field

I have a field that is a "Choice" field in which I have put in several names. The name of this field is Candidate 1. I have another field called Candidate Facility 1 in which I made this one a Person / Group field that the user can select a user from our network. Is there a way that I can have that second field "Candidate Facility 1" automatically fill in based on the selection on the first field, "Candidate 1"?Thanks,ChrisChris A
