Reading Web.Config to pass values to silverlight Application

In asp.net application we often use to save the connection string and some other information like user name , web service URL etc in the web.config and then in application read them and use in the application and even we can easily changes these value at later time. However, this scenario does not work out of the box from a Silverlight application, which doesn't seem to even have access to web.config.The reason is simple: a Silverlight application runs on the client side. The XAP -just like the browser- cannot access server resources such as web.config. In this post I will show you how you can read the web.config and pass to the silverlight application and then on the silverlight application how can you read the passed parameters.

how do I host wpf browser application in IIS

I would like to host several WPF browser applications in IIS, and include these as iframe in one IIS .net webforms application. Would you please provide the procedures involved in the first step: creating a wpf application in visual studio 2010 for hosting in IIS 7. I understand I need an xbap, but how do I get an xbap from the browser application project? I'm not seeing this in the folder after build. Also would you please confirm whether it is possible to run multiple xbap iis websites (using bindings possibly?), and present these though regular webforms website in multiple iframe?

SSIS 2008 generates Registration information for this application needs to be updated - VSTA.exe

I am getting the following error in SQL Server 2008 R2 (build 10.50.1734) x86 platform BI Development Studio (BIDS) 9.0.30729.4462 with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 in a Integration Services project. I have a package with a Data Flow task that contains a Script Component. I edit it and attempt to edit script and I get the following error: Registration information for this application needs to be updated. To update, log on as an administrator and run this command: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\VSTA.exe /HostID SSIS_ScriptComponent /setup About a minute later, another box displays with the following message Cannot show Visual Studio Tools for Applications editor. I execute the command above running as an administrator (there are no output results). BIDS displays the same symptoms. This happens on a Windows 7 Enterprise (I said Professional in an earlier but un-related post) workstation x86 platform. I get the error even if I create a new script component in a new data flow task in a new package. I also have VS 2010 Premium Edition (build 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel) i

Hi My project have 4 modules, I have decided to use single service with multiple interface (1 interface for 1 module, i.e totally 4 interfaces) and multiple partial class ( 4 partial class). Add a "Shared Documents" type documents browser onto an aspx Application Page?

I have an aspx page for a user to fire off a mail merge. I'd like them to choose a .html file from a document library in Sharepoint, then choose a contact list, and then have it fire off the mail merge.

The mail merge part is done and works from a console application with the .html file location hardcoded, and the contact list hard coded.
What I need is a way to add a documents browser onto the .aspx page. I can't see any obvious control I can drop on to achieve this though.

Ideally I would drop on a <Sharepoint:DocumentsBrowser> control, point it at a given ListId in sharepoint, and at runtime Sharepoint would display a nice shared documents type documents browser. Is this possible?
