vsext.olb could not be loaded

Posted By:      Posted Date: September 13, 2010    Points: 0   Category :Sql Server
Have SQL2005 and today, when I open Management Studio,  I'm getting this error:   The file %CommonDir%\vsext.olb could not be loaded.  An attempt to repair this condition has failed because the file could not be found: Please reinstall this program.   After I OK the error, Management Studio appears to load up fine and I can connect to the server.    What do I need to do to rectify this error message?

An endpoint configuration section for contract 'xxx' could not be loaded because more than one end

I'm trying to test calling a webservice, I've found several free ones on http://webserviceshare.com, but none of them work for me.  Some of them give example calling code in C# which I've translated to VB.NET, they're typically just two to four lines, I don't think I've translated them incorrectly.

On that I've tried is US Zip Validator.  I added a Service Reference to http://www.webservicemart.com/uszip.asmx?WSDL, called ZipService.

I then call it like so:

            Dim myZipService As ZipService.USZipSoapClient = New ZipService.USZipSoapClient()
Dim myCity As String = myZipService.ValidateZip("27707")

I get the following error on the first line of code:

"An endpoint configuration section for contract 'ZipService.USZipSoap' could not be loaded because more than one endpoint configuration for that contract was found. Please indicate the preferred endpoint configuration section by name."

How to process data AFTER page is completely loaded for the user?

I have some logging that has to be done, which are some database update or inserts.

However this logging is of no importance to the user, so I only want to process the data/logs after the page is completed for the user.
As of now, if I process the data while the page is loading, I go from 1.4 to 2.0 speed (server side time processing of code), which is quite a bit comparing it is of no use to the user.

So I want this code only executed after that the page is complete.

I've been checking out Ajax, async pages etc, but the problem is it still gets executed before the page is rendered to the client, which means the client will have to wait longer then it is not being processed.

I've been checking out Threadpool.queueBackgroundWorker, however if I get it correct, this will still be executed before the page is shown to the user, as it has to complete before the prerender.

Then I thought about creating a new thread, and do the processing there, which would not have my page waiting to complete the data/logging.
However when I have 100 or 200 users loading pages at the same time, then that would mean I would be creating 200 threads on those loads, which I doubt will be good for performance. So if I want to solve this, I would have to create my own threadpool and only assign for example a max of 40 threads to it which can pr

wss2.0 Infopath 2007 'This form requires connections to data sources when it is loaded. At least on

Hi all

I have a user who receives the error 'This form requires connections to data sources when it is loaded. At least one of these connections is not available. As specified by the form designer, this form will not open' when trying to Submit an infopath form located on a WSS2.0 site.

The user has been having this issue since upgrading to Office 2007 and IE7. I have had the user run an Office Diagnostics but this has not resolved the issue.

I am not aware of any other users experiencing this issue.

Any ideas please?

WPF ComboBox Loaded Event - Handling Globally

Hello, I am having trouble hooking up to a WPF ComboBox Loaded event when trying to do it globally with EventManager.RegisterClassHandler in the parent control rather than with XAML right on the control.  Here is the code for the ComboBox control: <DataTemplate x:Key="MyUIEditor"> <ComboBox Width='Auto' x:Name="Combo" ItemsSource="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type local:MyControlWPG}}, Path=MyCollection}" SelectedValue="{Binding Value}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectedValuePath="FullName" Background="Transparent" /> </DataTemplate>   Here is the code for the global event handler:   public partial class MyControlWPG : UserControl public MyControlWPG() { InitializeComponent(); EventManager.RegisterClassHandler(typeof(ComboBox), ComboBox.LoadedEvent, new RoutedEventHandler(Combo_Loaded)); } The event handler gets hit when I declare Loaded = "Combo_Loaded" in the XAML right on the ComboBox control but not when I use the global handler.  Any ideas as to why it doesn't get hit when doing it this way?

How to schedule activity loaded from external source inside NativeActivity

I have a NativeActivity that takes an InArgument<int> that is the primary key of some table that contains a piece of xaml. When the activity runs, it loads the xaml from the database and uses ActivityXamlServices to turn the xaml into an activity. Then I try to schedule the activity using NativeActivityContext.ScheduleActivity. This fails with the message: The provided activity was not part of this workflow definition when its metadata was being processed.  The problematic activity named 'Sequence' was provided by the activity named 'RunWorkflowFromStore'. This makes sense because I never added the activity I'm trying to run to the metadata. However, when can I do that? It is only at runtime that I know the value of the primary for the xaml I'm trying to load. Or am I doing this the wrong way? Here is my code: public sealed class RunWorkflowFromStore : NativeActivity<ApprovalState> { private Activity _activity; public InArgument<int> WorkflowId { get; set; } protected override void CacheMetadata(NativeActivityMetadata metadata) { var workflowIdArgument = new RuntimeArgument("WorkflowId", typeof(int), ArgumentDirection. In); metadata.Bind(WorkflowId, workflowIdArgument); metadata.AddArgument(workflowIdArgument); } protected override void Execute(NativeActivityContext context) { // Load activity

No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed.

Hello.I installed VisualStudio.NET 2005 a few days ago.  ( not beta )While I'm debugging, I'm faced with strange message box.-- MessageBox --No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. Common sources of this bug include user marshaling errors for COM-interop or PInvoke, which may corrupt the stack. How should I solve this problem? Please answer me..Thanks.Gwisun.

Mixed mode assembly is built against version 'v2.0.50727' of the runtime and cannot be loaded in t

First, yes I've read every article I can find including this one: http://msmvps.com/blogs/rfennell/archive/2010/03/27/mixed-mode-assembly-is-built-against-version-v2-0-50727-error-using-net-4-development-web-server.aspx Of course it's for web server stuff, but I found this in my config file and added it. However, my problem now is that if I build in release mode I get a hard error in the error list telling me the same thing, even though it runs fine in debug and has the information in my app.config file. The really anoying part is that the error doesn't tell you WHICH assembly is the offending one. Anyone have any ideas?

FormView EditItemTemplate DropDownList loaded from codebehind via stored procedure

I'm attempting to load DropDownLists from the C# codebehind as the FormView switches modes to Edit and displays the EditItemTemplate.  I present the data in a FormView ItemTemplate using text boxes.  When the user selects Edit, I have been attempting to load the EditItemTemplate dropdownlists by creating a dataset and binding it to the control, without success.  I've successfully loaded them in previous projects from within the .aspx code using <asp:ListItem> and within the C# code behind using Control.Items.Add(new ListItem), which are essentially the same thing of course .  This project is different in that I want to get the data from a stored procedure on a MSSQL server. In my latest attempt, I can see the data in the datasets.  I'm getting "Error connecting to database.'eitRace' has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items.Parameter name: value" I include the code below.  If someone could point me to an example I would be greatful.  There has to be an elegant way of accomplishing this. Thank You, rlbaum *************************************************** <EditItemTemplate> <asp:Button ID="updatebutton" runat="server" CausesValidation="false" Text="Update&quo

How can I handle the loaded events for all TreeViewItems in a TreeView?

I have a custom control that inherits from the TreeView control. Here's the code I have right now:   public ModdedTreeView() { this.AddHandler(TreeViewItem.LoadedEvent, new RoutedEventHandler(ItemLoaded)); } protected void ItemLoaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { TreeViewItem item = e.OriginalSource as TreeViewItem; } Unfortunately my handler seems to be handling the TreeView loaded event instead of the TreeViewItem loaded event. The original source is always the TreeView.   What is going wrong?

Framework 4.0 dll loaded by a 2.0 executable cannot find "xxxx.resources.dll"

Hello, I have an interesting situation here that I was hoping someone may be able to give some pointers on.  First my application is all provided within a class library assembly so that it can be loaded by multiple hosts.  We are investigating moving to Visual Studio 2010 and the .Net Framework 4.0 for some of the new features.  However, one of our hosts is a 2.0 click once application that we do not have the source to.  I've tried modifying the config file for the executable to add the useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy with the 4.0 as the supported runtime and setting loadFromRemoteSources as suggested by a Google search and that came close to working.  However, depending on the workflow through our client code is giving a System.IO.FileNotFoundException for various references. The message associated with the exception is Could not load file or assembly 'file:///XXXXXX.resources.dll' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."  Were the XXXXX changes and the .dll may or may not be present depending on whether Assembly.Load or Assembly.LoadFrom was used to perform the load.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. [Addition: I forgot to mention that our app originally targeted Framework 3.5SP1] Michael Fischer

HOw to check whether all rows has been loaded successfully??

Hi All!   I have one question in mind. I have created package that extract data from sql table and populate in flat file. I used OLEDB source and flat file destination. Now, I have executed the package.  Source tabled has millions of record. After the completion of package, I want to make sure that all rows from table has been loaded into the file  and none of the rows are missed. source table has millions of record. How can i check that in SSIS? It doesn;t make sense to check every row in a file and compare with source. So, How can i do that??     Thanks,

Could not load file or assembly '0 bytes loaded from System, Version=, Culture=neutral, Publ

Hi I have a clickonce deployed application in my machine. When I tried to load the application, 90% of the application window is getting loaded but finally, I get the following error: Could not load file or assembly '0 bytes loaded from System, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. I have read somewhere that this error could be caused when something goes wrong with the .net framework in the machine. My machine is having .Net framework 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5. So which framework should I reinstall? The application is developed using .net 2.0. Also, please let me know how the application is partially loading(90%) if the framework is corrupted.? Regards Anoop.
